The 20-year-old halfback played two seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2023-24. In his freshman and lone season under Saban he rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns.
In his sophomore season following Saban's retirement and under new coach Kalen DeBoer, Haynes improved by recording 448 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Haynes added 99 receiving yards out of the backfield.
He announced his transfer to Michigan on Jan. 3 as the transfer portal's No. 1 halfback and has been in the midst of the Wolverines training camp, where drew comparisons between Saban and Moore during an interview.
'He reminds me of a young coach Saban in a lot of ways,' Haynes told On3 reporter Peter Nakos on Thursday. 'He's going to kick it with you. He's going to have fun with you, but then there is also a time to be serious and a time to be disciplined.'

Saban was well known for prioritizing discipline and preparation throughout training, and it seems Moore does the same.
'Everything is discipline-oriented around there,' Haynes added. 'We train differently from anyone else in the country. We work harder than anyone in the country, and we're all about running the ball and stopping the run.'

Moore's team revolves around developing a strong run defense and rushing offense. Last season, the Wolverines went 8-5 and took down fellow powerhouses Ohio State (13-10) on Nov. 30 and Alabama (19-13) in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Dec. 31.
Michigan's running back room rushed for a combined total of 2,043 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. Meanwhile, their rushing defense recorded 744 total tackles and 460 solo tackles.

'That's what we pride ourselves on, and that's what led to my decision,' Haynes continued.

Heading into the upcoming season, the Wolverines are expected to have a solid year, with Haynes taking carries out of the backfield to help the offense reach new heights.
'I knew they were going to value the running back position, and I knew I could thrive in the offense,' he concluded.
Michigan opens its season against the New Mexico Lobos on Aug. 30 inside Michigan Stadium.

Aussie Davidson in the hunt at LPGA Classic
Australia's Karis Davidson is two shots off the lead after three rounds of the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan. But the 26-year-old will be chasing six players on Sunday with fellow Aussies Grace Kim and Minjee Lee a further two shots back. Sentimental favourite Lexi Thompson birdied two of the final three holes for a share of the third-round lead on Saturday in a bid to win for the first time in just over six years. Thompson sits atop the leader board alongside five others, after shooting a 4-under 68, rebounding with birdies on 16 and 18 after driving into the water and making a bogey on the par-5 14th. "Not my best ball-striking day," Thompson said." But I scrambled very well and stayed positive, patient, and that's what it's kind of all about." At 11-under 205 at the Blythefield County Club, she was tied with Nanna Koerstz Madsen (68), Madelene Sagstrom (67), Sofia Garcia (68), Hye-Jin Choi (69) and Carlota Ciganda (69). Davidson finished the day in seventh on 207 with Lee and Kim tied for 12th on 209. Thompson was back on top a year after losing a playoff to Lilia Vu on the tree-lined course. "Everybody is going to come out swinging," she said. "Good weather tomorrow, so I know birdies will have to be made and I'll have to go pin-seeking. I will hope for the best, go out there and embrace the opportunity, and really love on the fans." Karis Davidson with a clutch birdie to kick off our moving day coverage 🐦We're live now on @GolfChannel — LPGA (@LPGA) June 14, 2025 The 30-year-old from Florida won the last of her 11 LPGA Tour titles in early June 2019 at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. She's making her sixth start of the season in a part-time tour schedule, and also is set to play next week in the major KPMG Women's PGA Championship in Texas. Garcia had the lead at 13 under after 12 holes, then bogeyed the next three. "I'm happy I was able to get it back together," Garcia said. "Made a really good chip out on 16. Was able to have a good finish."

What Could Terry McLaurin's Sizable Raise Cost Commanders?
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Soon, the Washington Commanders will have no choice but to make a critical decision with Terry McLaurin. Will they pay up or be forced to work the phones and move on? Only time will tell. Since the Commanders haven't reached the traning camp phase of the offseason just yet, they still have time to take care of McLaurin's financial needs before the situation gets worse than it already is. This week, the Commanders were placed in an expected yet awkward position as McLaurin was not in attendance for the team's mandatory minicamp sessions. Based on comments from Commanders head coach Dan Quinn and the quarterback Jayden Daniels, the business part of the game affecting McLaurin's offseason availability is understood and accepted. So far, key members of the Commanders' franchise seem confident that a new deal will get worked out. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin's recent roundup of predictions suggests the same. Must-Read Commanders Update: Insider Offers Jarring Details on Injury Incident Looking at McLaurin's current situation, Benjamin predicts that McLaurin could soon secure a three-year deal. Financially, McLaurin could earn somewhere around $90 million over the course of that extension. "This sure feels like the sequel to that short-lived saga, as Washington is committed to title contention in 2025, even adding a new running mate for McLaurin in Deebo Samuel. While he's approaching 30, 'Scary Terry' is also due for a raise." When it comes to consistency, McLaurin has been one of the NFL's best as a receiver. On the health front, he's appeared in 17 games in each of the past four seasons. More Commanders News: Ex-NFL Star Sends Terry McLaurin Message to Washington As far as production goes, McLaurin has been a guaranteed 1,000-yard receiver since his second season in the league. Outside of his 919-yard campaign during his rookie year, McLaurin has exceeded 1,000 yards for the past five years. With Jayden Daniels under center, McLaurin caught 82 passes for 1,096 yards and scored a career-high 13 touchdowns last year. In the playoffs, the veteran wideout came down with 14 receptions for 227 yards and three touchdowns in three games. The Commanders don't seem to be in a rush to place McLaurin's desired deal on the table, but it might only be a matter of time before the two-time Pro Bowler's payday arrives.
