T20 cricket: Triple Super Over for the very first time, as Netherlands defeat Nepal
The Netherlands came through an unprecedented three Super Overs to defeat Nepal in a T20 cricket tri-series match.
It was the first time a triple Super Over had been seen in an international cricket match.
A Super Over occurs when a match ends in a tie after both innings have been completed, with each team being given an extra six balls to pull ahead.
If a Super Over ends in a tie, another Super Over is played until a team emerges as the winner. In general, Super Overs are rare. A match had only ever gone into a second Super Over once before, after India and Afghanistan went to an extra 12 balls last year.
The Dutch posted 152 for seven after their 20 overs and appeared set for victory in Glasgow as Nepal required 16 runs from their final over, but Nandan Yadav scored a boundary on the last ball - leaving both teams with the same number of runs - forcing the first Super Over.
Nepal then made 19 runs, which the Dutch matched thanks to Max O'Dowd hitting a six on the final ball.
During the second Super Over, the Netherlands, batting first, hit 17 runs but Nepal again stayed in the match after Dipendra Singh Airee hit a six on the last ball to force the first instance of a third Super Over.
With Nepal failing to score a single run and with the Dutch needing just one run, Michael Levitt smashed a six to finally seal the win for the Netherlands.
The 2025 Scotland T20 Tri-Nation Series is taking place after the conclusion of the thirteenth round of the 2024-2026 Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-nation One Day International (ODI) tournament contested by the men's national teams of the Netherlands, Nepal and Scotland.
The Netherlands had lost their opening match of the series with Scotland on Monday and now have a rest day.
Nepal are straight back into action against the Scots.

Falkirk need 'solid spine' with 'top-flight experience'
We asked for your views on what Falkirk's priorities should be in this summer's transfer what some of you said:Fraser: We need a couple of defenders and a midfielder. Former bairn Murray Wallace is out of contract at Millwall. He'd be good to bring back. Could do with a left-back too such as Stephen Kingsley, and while we're at it might as well bring Jay Fulton home as well!Ryan: We need a solid spine that has experience of Premiership football. A new centre-half, centre-midfielder and another striker to compliment Brian Graham. Also feel an upgrade at left-back is needed for us to The key thing we are going to need to survive the season and most importantly stay up is depth, we need to get some centre-backs brought in as Coll Donaldson and Tom Lang are a bit injury prone and also need to add some midfield depth. Should we lose Brad Spencer to injury at any point this season we could be in real trouble in midfield, but in general strength in depth will be We likely need a centre-half to maintain depth after Luke Graham has returned to Dundee, though would like him back! We could do with another central midfielder, again mostly for depth. Most importantly we need some experience to add to the mix, the lads have been phenomenal the last couple of seasons but next season is another Now need another centre-back and midfielder to complete an upgrade to the spine of the team. Some of our youngsters will go out on loan. John McGlynn gets more right than he gets We have signed Scott Bain and Brian Graham which is decent, still think we need a couple more, central defender, Luke Graham, who we had on loan last season would be cracking plus a central midfielder with Premiership Luke Graham was excellent for us last season but he was only on loan from Dundee and has gone back to his parent club. With only three central defenders in the squad, Donaldson, Liam Henderson and Lang, we will need to add to strengthen our options in this Falkirk need a strong experienced centre-half and need to hang on to all of their current squad, including Spencer.

'Raskin irreplaceable, sign Vardy & bring back Cerny'
We asked for your views on what Rangers head coach Russell Martin needs this summer in the transfer what some of you said:Arran: Would be very fun to see Jamie Vardy come, of course they're only rumours though. More English league players! As big as my loyalty to the SPFL is, I still think we should be taking advantage of Russell Martin's links and connections to the English leagues. They have so much money and are able to make so many good investments all the time, it'd be nice to see some of those good investments come to Spend £9m and bring Vaclav Cerny back in, we know his quality and fit with the club. Build the team around him, Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande. I'm actually pro-Cyriel Dessers, but if money is being offered take it and sign an established striker. We missed a trick with the knowledge and influence Davide Ancelotti would have had bringing in upcoming stars, but I'll back Martin for now and hope for smart business!Billy: Rangers should definitely keep Raskin and Dessers. Let Robin Propper go and get someone solid beside John Souttar. We're good between the sticks and for full-backs. Wide men needed to provide opportunities for The defence needs to be toughened up as a priority, Jack Butland's frailties on crosses and his slack passing out from the back were exposed and Liam Kelly was far from convincing as a replacement, no doubt lack of confidence in the goalkeeper led to near enough blind panic by the defenders in clearing balls and defending corners. Recruit tough, no-nonsense defenders and build from The centre of defence has to be the priority. Build from the back. With the amount of work needing done to the squad, either, or both of, Raskin and Hamza Igamane will have to be sold to generate the necessary funds. Massive summer ahead and we need to get a move on with pre-season starting next We need a keeper, left-sided centre-half, right and left full-backs, right and left wingers and a centre-forward, plus squad players who enhance the bench with academy players given Raskin at this time is irreplaceable. He is getting better game by game and is establishing himself in the Belgium team. We should do everything to keep him and cash in on him this time next year when his stock rises even further. We need to drastically improve our defence, and need four or five new signings for the starting XI. Right now bringing in squad players just isn't what we need.
