2026 Nissan Armada Nismo: New Looks, Better Handling, and More Power
Nissan is giving in to enthusiasts' deepest desires. For the first time in America, the company is bringing a Nismo version of its full-size Armada SUV to market for 2026. The Nissan Armada Nismo gets striking tuner-inspired looks, a retuned suspension, and more power from its twin-turbocharged V-6 engine.
The Nissan Armada Nismo will be easy to spot in a crowd. There are unique front and rear bumpers, as well as special side skirts and a new tailgate, all covered in red accents, typical of any modern Nismo product. There's also an exclusive two-tone Stealth Grey color scheme, fender flares, a diffuser, a rear spoiler, and a set of massive 22-inch wheels.

Inside is more of the same, with specific quilted two-tone black and red leather for the seats and center armrest. The seats have adjustable bolsters to help hold you in during high-g cornering. There are also red accents along the dashboard and the steering wheel to further set the cabin apart.
Under the hood, you'll find the Armada's twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6, retuned to 460 horsepower—an increase of 35 horses over the standard model. The extra power is thanks to a revised engine programming, a new exhaust system, and "careful fine-tuning of valve clearances," according to Nissan. As with all other Armadas, power is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission and a full-time all-wheel drive system.
To complete the package, Nissan gives the Armada Nismo a retuned electric power steering rack and a revised adaptive air suspension system to improve handling and response. Those forged alloy wheels wear a higher-performance all-season tire for more overall grip.
The best news is, despite all of these changes, the Armada Nismo carries the same 8,500-pound towing capacity as all other trims, meaning it can be the perfect companion to your Z track car.

Nissan has yet to reveal pricing for the 2026 Armada Nismo, though considering all of the equipment changes, we expect it to be priced similarly to the off-road-focused Pro-4X trim, which starts at $75,750 including destination. The company should release pricing once the SUV goes on sale this fall.

Relay Payments expands into maintenance with trio of deals
Relay Payments has launched providing its payment services to maintenance, tires and repairs with the announcement of three new partnerships. The trio of repair and maintenance businesses that now accept payments through Relay are Southern Tire Mart at Pilot (which is a joint venture between the tire provider and the giant travel stop operator), Boss Truck Shops and AMBEST Service Centers. Southern Tire Mart at Pilot (STMP) has more than 75 locations. Boss has more than 45, and AMBEST has more than 115, according to a spokeswoman for Relay Payments. 'This announcement marks one of Relay Payments' first moves into the repair, tow and maintenance market, expanding digital payment options for carriers and improving acceptance and workflows for these merchants,' the spokeswoman said in an email to FreightWaves. While the three companies are not all launching their acceptance of Relay Payments at once, the spokeswoman said, 'we're announcing the partnerships at the same time as we wanted to show our commitment to making large strides within this new vertical with some of the largest names in repair, tow and maintenance in the U.S.' For example, the prepared statement released by Relay quotes John Boynton, president of STMP, as saying the company 'integrated with Relay last year to simplify service payments and combat fraud, and it's been an overwhelmingly positive experience for our customers.' Southern Tire Mart at Pilot–the formal name of the entity now accepting Relay Payments services–was formed in 2021 between Pilot Co. and Southern Tire Mart, which the spokeswoman described as 'the largest commercial tire dealer and retread manufacturer in North America.' Relay took a big step forward down to the retail level for truckers last year when it announced that Love's Travel Stops would begin accepting Relay for fuel payments at its travel Relay Payments still does not have a payments agreement with Travel Centers of America and Casey's (NASDAQ: CASY), two of the larger travel stop operators in the U.S. Payments from Relay are not made via a fuel card or some other debit card. Instead, according to the prepared statement from Relay announcing the partnership, drivers or fleets utilize Relay's platform to locate the maintenance facilities that accept Relay Payments. Repair and maintenance merchants accept digital codes, referred to as RelayCodes, that allow fleets to leverage secure payments from their Relay account. 'Launching service, maintenance, and repairs is a major milestone towards our mission of becoming an end-to-end payment network for the trucking industry,' Relay's CEO and co-founder Ryan Droege said in a prepared statement. 'By introducing acceptance of Relay at service locations along with discounted repairs, we're not only lowering operating costs for our customers but also creating greater efficiencies by consolidating all over-the-road expenses in one platform.' Auto thefts drop across North Texas, the I-Team finds
After several years of skyrocketing numbers, auto thefts have fallen across Texas. Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety show an overall decrease of 17% from 2023 to 2024, and the I-Team analyzed data to find some local cities reporting even better results. CBS News Texas Dallas sees decrease in stolen cars For example, Dallas experienced a 23% decline, with numbers continuing to fall in early 2025. The police department credits the decrease to several efforts, including faster intake of reports and an increase in cameras across the city. According to Major Raymario Sanchez, state funding paid for an additional 200 Flock cameras along streets and intersections, which alert officers to stolen vehicles in real time. "Wherever it hits in the city, let's say it's 75 and Northwest highway, it will notify the officer that's where the vehicle's at," Sanchez said. "And they can track it from there and follow behind once they get with it." Auto theft hot spots While the numbers are down, thieves are targeting a new set of hot spots in the city. Sanchez said the area around the NorthPark Center mall used to top the list, but now that distinction goes to Bishop Arts. Employees in that area said a few of the recent thefts involved gig workers. "A lot of delivery drivers who are here to pick up their food will just run in," said Bethany Mieth, the owner of Oasis Plant Shop. She said with limited parking, some drivers leave their cars in the street. "And I think people will just wait, and they'll jump in and take their car." Here are the current hot spots for auto thefts in Dallas, according to DPD: Bishop Arts area Technology and Northwest Highway area Exall Park area Kessler Plaza area Pinnacle Point Drive area The I-Team compiled data from dozens of cities to build this map showing changes from 2023 to 2024. Tracking thieves Cameras are also helping bring down the crime in White Settlement, where auto thefts fell 26%. "You can't enter our city without being on a camera," said Chris Cook, the police chief. "I'll give credit to the team, they're really working hard. When those Flock hits alert on a stolen vehicle, they're going after it, even if it's not stolen here." Cook said grants from the state helped pay for extra manpower to target the hot spots in the city, including the hotels and motels. "We pair officers together and they can work overtime," said Cook. "And they were concentrating, really saturating those areas." Owners fight back The I-Team found it's not just police, but vehicle owners are also stepping up security with a mix of new and old technology. At a recent car meet-up in Keller, people said they used a range of tools to keep their cars secure, from kill switch devices and Apple AirTags to The Club, a steering wheel locking device. In Dallas, the I-Team met a man who said his anti-theft system has prevented thieves from stealing his truck at least four times. The technology, from Texas-based company Ravelco, is a twist on a kill switch and has been around since the 1970s. The only way to start the vehicle is by plugging in a cap that completes electrical circuits, allowing the engine to turn over. "It takes them too long to figure out what the combination would be to complete the circuits," Neuman said. "Thieves don't want to spend that much time trying to figure out how to steal your vehicle." He showed the I-Team surveillance video of the last time thieves attempted to steal his truck from his driveway in March. It shows four men armed with guns and a tablet spend more than three minutes trying to start the pickup. At one point, two of them aim their guns at Neuman's front door. Neuman had no idea what was happening at the time, but he said the video is unsettling. "My girls' bedrooms are at the front of the house," he said. "When you see video of someone pointing guns at your front door and at the bedrooms of your kids, you get really scared."
