"Has echoes of October 7, Hamas attack": American Jewish Community official on Pahalgam terror attack

Philadelphia [US], April 25 (ANI): Chief Policy and Political Affairs Officer of the American Jewish Committee, Jason Isaacson, on Friday said that the Pahalgam terrorist attack was a 'brutal' and 'horrific' attack and compared it to the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas on Israel.
Jason Isaacson said that this attack has 'shaken India to the core' and has 'echoes' of the October 7, 2023, attack in which Hamas terrorists killed over 1,200 people and took over 200 hostages in a coordinated attack on Southern Israel.
Speaking with ANI, Jason Isaacson said. 'The massacre of 7th October 2023 by Hamas was brutal and it has left a very deep scar...That attack echoes in my mind as I see what has happened in Jammu & Kashmir. It was a brutal and horrific attack on people vacationing and singling them out as Hindus. A terrorist act which has shaken India to the core. It has also horrified people worldwide...It has echoes of what happened on October 7, 202,3, in Israel,
Isaacson agreed that Hamas and LeT's operations regarding targeting of civilians on religious identity have similarities and said that their 'motivation is to identify others as evil.'
He further assured that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has complete support to 'root out terrorists.'
'Yes, that is the characteristic of the terrorist. Their motivation is to identify others as evil that need to be wiped out in some genocidal campaign. It is certainly characteristic of Hezbollah's feelings towards Jews, and has characteristics of a certain movement that has targeted Hindus. PM Modi has pledged to root out these terrorists, and he has the full support of my country and other friends of India around the world,' Isaacson said.
Isaacson further said that it is 'not a big leap of imagination' to think there may be Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam attack, suggesting that they can't operate without the funding or support of Pakistani society, military or intelligence service.
'It doesn't take too large a stretch of an imagination to think that if no funding or support for this movement is provided by the elements within the Pakistani society, or military, or intelligence services, if such a force can operate that has a clear motivation to drive India out. It is not a big leap of imagination to think there may be some Pakistani involvement,' Isaacson said.
Terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen while leaving several others injured, in one of the deadliest attacks in the valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed. (ANI)

"It is not that Rahul Gandhi doesn't understand how the electoral process works. He does very well. But his goal is not clarity, it is chaos. His repeated attempts to sow seeds of doubt and dissension in the minds of voters about our institutional processes are deliberate," Malviya's post added. In response to the allegation made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi regarding the Maharashtra election, the Election Commission described it as "unsubstantiated allegations." "Unsubstantiated allegations raised against the Electoral Rolls of Maharashtra are an affront to the rule of law. The Election Commission brought out all these facts in its reply to the INC on 24th December 2024 itself, which is available on ECI's website. It appears that all these facts are completely being ignored while raising such issues again and again," the ECI statement read.

Bharat Mata portrait row: CPI hoists national flag, plants saplings
Thrissur , CPI, the second-largest partner in the ruling LDF in Kerala, on Saturday hoisted the national flag and planted saplings as a mark of protest against the usage of the Bharat Mata portrait at an Environment Day event in the Raj Bhavan. State Agriculture Minister and CPI leader P Prasad had boycotted the event at the Raj Bhavan on June 5 over the use of the portrait, citing that it was the one used by the RSS. The Left party had announced that it would hoist the national flag, which is the symbol of Bharat Mata, at all its branches on Saturday and would plant saplings as a mark of protest against the Raj Bhavan's action. CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam hoisted the flag and planted the sapling at the party district office in Thrissur on Saturday morning. State Revenue Minister P Rajan and senior leader and former minister V S Sunil Kumar were among those who were present during the protest event. After the event, Viswam sought to know whether the Constitution of the country or the policies of the RSS were important for Governor Vishwanath Rajendra Arlekar. "This flag is the Bharat Mata. There is no Bharat Mata other than this," he said, hoisting the national flag. Apparently criticising the Governor, he said any attempt to impose another concept of Bharat Mata is "unconstitutional" and "anti-national". CPI leaders and workers gathered and raised "Bharat Mata ki jai" slogan also. Meanwhile, CPI state secretary M V Govindan rejected reporters' question about whether the ruling party was not keen to criticise the Governor in the matter like its front partner CPI. The Left government in Kerala on Friday made it clear that it was not in agreement with the use of the Bharat Mata portrait at the Environment Day event at the Raj Bhavan here, as the picture was not authorised as the official version by the Constitution or the Indian government. Minister Prasad, who had boycotted the event, said on Friday that those in constitutional offices cannot convert government programmes into political events. A similar view was also expressed by state General Education Minister V Sivankutty, who said that the Raj Bhavan and the Governor were above politics and said that Arlekar should withdraw from the stand taken by him. As the incident triggered a row, the Governor had issued a statement saying that "Whatever be the pressure, from whichever quarters, there will be no compromise whatsoever on Bharat Mata."

YouTuber Jasbir Singh Sent To 2-Day Police Remand In Pak-Linked Espionage Case
Social media influencer Jasbir Singh, who was arrested by Punjab Police on charges of espionage, has been sent to two days of police remand by a Mohali court on Saturday. "The police had asked for 7 days remand... We asked the police through the court what they did in 3 days. Today, he has been sent to a 2-day police remand," ANI quoted Jasbir's lawyer as saying. Jasbir, who runs a YouTube channel "JaanMahal Video" with over 11 lakh subscribers, was arrested by the Punjab Police's State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) on June 4 on espionage charges. According to the Police, Jasbir is allegedly linked to a terror-backed espionage network involving Pakistani intelligence operative Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa. The YouTuber is said to have maintained close contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested last month for spying, and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national and expelled Pakistan High Commission official, ANI quoted police as saying.
