Charlotte Ritchie, who played Bonnie Davenport in the hit ITV detective drama, has admitted that she hasn't tuned in to watch the final series of Grantchester as it can be 'a little bit painful'

Former Grantchester star Charlotte Ritchie has revealed she hasn't watched the show since her departure, stating that it "can be a little bit painful" to see the series progress without her.
Charlotte, who portrayed Bonnie Davenport on the hit ITV detective drama from its seventh season until the recent ninth instalment, discussed her feelings about leaving the show with an honest admission that she's not caught up with the current episodes.
Talking about the latest series of Granchester with Radio Times, she explained: "I haven't (watched), only because there's something about watching something after you've left that can be a little bit painful. But I'm so pleased."
The actress heaped praise on Rishi Nair for his portrayal of Reverend Alphy Kotteram, noting: "I think he's doing a brilliant job, Rishi [Nair], as the new vicar, and we got to cross over and hang out a bit, which was really nice.

"He's a really nice guy. And Tom [Brittney, who played Reverend Will Davenport], I think, directed some of the episodes, so they've obviously crossed over," reports Cambridgeshire Live.

Expressing admiration for her former colleagues, Charlotte commended the entire cast and crew of Granchester, acknowledging the warm environment on set.
She continued: "I mean, you've got some really pro actors there: Kacey [Ainsworth], Tessa [Peake-Jones], Robson [Green] and Al [Weaver], and Tom is so lovely. They're really top notch. So I felt in really good company," adding to her praises.

"But I think it was time to move on. Although I do miss that wig," she reflected on leaving behind the blonde wig she donned in the series, adding, "I didn't want to move on from it."
Though she has waved goodbye to Grantchester, Charlotte made a comeback as Kate Lockwood in the climactic fifth and final season of Netflix's psychological thriller You, tying up the intense narrative of serial killer Joe Goldberg in an eagerly awaited concluding chapter.
Charlotte joined the cast of the hit show You in 2023, as the drama moved its backdrop to London for an extravagantly executed fourth season.

"I found a lot of good qualities. We shared the same values and morals and that kind of stuff. Comes from good stock, good family. It just felt right. "Even though I wasn't expecting to jump into something, that connection felt genuine when I compare it to the other initial dates that I went on." Like many modern day love stories, Munveer and Maddie got to know each other through Instagram. She sent him a request and Munveer wasted no time sliding into her DMs. Sparks quickly flew but both parties approached the hard launch with caution. It wasn't until December that the private pair went Instagram official, and the joint posts since have been few and far between. Slowing things down went against Munveer's natural instincts. He admits: "To be honest with you, I fall in love so quickly. "Let's get the girls connected over a dinner and then we can start thinking about that kind of stuff. They're both taken and, from what I know, really happy." He then joked: "I think Hugo's a little bit under the thumb. He's gone a bit quiet. He was really active on the WhatsApp group. As soon as he gets his missus, he's just gone non-existent. Which is fair enough, he's in the honeymoon period. But both the boys are doing really well and they look like they're loved up." In a series that was dominated by Joey Essex's surprise arrival, Munveer's screen time was limited. He doesn't hold a grudge against the former Towie star though, acknowledging it was out of his control. He simply accepts that there wasn't a girl there for him during his short time in Majorca. "They show you what you want to see and they create this narrative," he says. "But it's really hard to just wake up and fancy someone. Yes, you're on Love Island but sometimes it just doesn't feel that genuine, and I was never going to break character or just do things for the sake of it. ITV has announced that it is shutting down the ITVBe channel - the home of reality and unscripted programmes - after 11 years, with ITV Quiz taking over the channel's slot A popular TV channel is shutting down for good today after 11 years on air as part of a major broadcast shake-up. ITVBe, which first launched in 2014, became the home of reality and unscripted shows such as The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) and The Real Housewives franchise. Comedy fans have also enjoyed American favourites like Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on the channel. However, after tonight, ITVBe will no longer exist, with its reality programmes set to move to a new home as part of a merger with ITV2. These shows will join other popular ITV2 staples such as Love Island and Big Brother, and will remain available from streaming on ITVX as announced earlier this year. ITVBe's channel slot will be replaced by ITV Quiz, which will feature a lineup of the TV network's quiz and game shows, the Mirror reports. The line-up will feature shows such as Wheel of Fortune, Tipping Point, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Lingo, Tenable, Deal or No Deal, The 1% Club, Jeopardy! and Catchphrase. Meanwhile TOWIE - one of the most popular shows on ITVX - moves to ITV2, with a special 15th anniversary series set to air this autumn. This isn't the first time TOWIE has been broadcast on ITV2, the reality series originally premiered on the channel in 2010. It helped to launch the careers of Mark Wright, Joey Essex, Lucy Mecklenburgh, Sam Faiers and Dab Osborne. The show remained on ITV2 until 2014, when it transitioned to ITVBe becoming one of its flagship programmes. In its announcement earlier this year, ITV said: "ITV2 will now officially become the linear home of all of ITV's best-known reality series, as The Only Way is Essex, The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Real Housewives franchises from around the world move from ITVBe to the UK's most successful digital channel for 16-34s, in June 2025. "TOWIE and RHOCH join a rich schedule of returning formats, including Love Island and Big Brother, and exciting new commissions which are lined up throughout the remainder of 2025 on ITV2, and will continue to stream on ITVX. "The supercharged ITV2 offering also includes animated comedies (Family Guy) original commissions (G'Wed and Transaction) blockbuster movies and younger skewing factual entertainment, like Olivia Attwood's Price of Perfection, which are all also strong performers on ITVX." "Both Love Island and Big Brother are due to return in the Summer and Autumn months respectively, alongside a second series of Olivia Attwood's Bad Boyfriends, following its talked about debut series in 2024," the announcement continued. "The Only Way Is Essex will turn 15 meanwhile with a celebratory Autumn series. The move to ITV2 marks a homecoming for TOWIE as part of its 15th anniversary year, having initially debuted its first 12 series on ITV2." ITV stated that reality remains the most-watched genre on ITV2 and ITVX, with Love Island and its spin-offs being streamed 2.2 billion times, while Big Brother over 100 million and TOWIE hitting 66 million streams in the 12 months up to April, ITV said. The statement concluded: "As the flagship commissions move across to their ITV2 broadcast home, ITV will retire the ITVBe brand from its portfolio in June 2025. "ITV plans to use the channel slot as ITV Quiz, drawing on ITV's popular, market-leading UK quiz and game shows, and the success and learnings of ITVX FAST channels."
