‘My two favourite people' cry fans as Sex and the City star spotted in Dublin with TV pal
A SEX and the City star was spotted in Dublin this week while cheering on her bestie Rosie O'Donnell as she took on the comedy world in her new Irish home. American actress, Cynthia Nixon, who is famous for her role as the fiercely independent Miranda Hobbes in the hit drama series, was snapped beaming alongside Rosie after her show. 3 Rosie O'Donnell and Cynthia Nixon reunited in Dublin 3 Cynthia came to support Rosie's new show 3 Cynthia plays Miranda in Sex and The City The Hollywood pals were snapped beaming together after Cynthia jetted across the pond especially to catch Rosie's hit show before it headed off to the Edinburgh Fringe. Posting the sweet moment on Instagram, Cynthia gushed: "Nothing like seeing my friend (and Miranda's one-night stand, Mary) kill it onstage IN DUBLIN!" In the cute photo, Cynthia put her arm around Rosie as they both shared a laugh together. Another snap showed Rosie sternly telling a story while Cynthia was in stitches of laughter. The pair even bumped into each other again by pure Irish luck at the airport, with Rosie en route to Scotland and Cynthia flying back home to the States. And fans all raced to the comment section to gush over the two ladies reuniting. Lee wrote: "Rosie is brilliant and so are you." Joyce said: "Two of my favorite people!" Nancy added: "Rosie is a national treasure." And Billy remarked: "You ladies rock!" 'I Jump into action like I'm an EMT' Rosie O' Donnell recalls moment she saved elderly woman choking in Dublin hotel The famous friends have been pals for years, however in more recent times Rosie and Cynthia played lovers on the new Sex And The City revival, And Just Like That. On the show, Rosie played a character named Mary, who was introduced to Cynthia's character in a lesbian bar. The two characters have a one-night stand, and later Mary reveals she is a nun who has never been with a woman before. IRISH WELCOME Cynthia and Rosie had not crossed paths since Rosie recently relocated herself and her 12-year-old daughter to Dublin. Speaking on The Late Late Show earlier this year, Rosie spoke about her decision to emigrate to Ireland as well as her decision to apply for Irish citizenship. Rosie has been vocal in the past in her criticism of the current American President and explained to Kielty why his victory was the reason behind her move. She told host Patrick Kielty: "Well, there's the President of the United States that has it out for me and has for twenty years. 'When I told the truth about him on a programme called The View, where it was my job to talk about pop culture and politics, I mentioned his bankruptcies. 'PUNCHLINE' 'I mentioned the fact that he's not the businessman everyone thinks he is "And so he was very angry, to say the least yes, and he hasn't let it go. And he sort of uses me as a punchline whenever he feels the need." She continued: 'The biggest reason why it was different than the first time he was in office is the Supreme Court giving him ultimate power, the powers of a king or a monarch. "And that's not what the United States is about and it's a terrifying prospect."

It is not the first time Cherry, 33, has appeared in her husband's music videos, with three other cameos under her belt. In 2022 fans said she had 'stolen the show' when she was seen in the final scene of Sheeran and Elton John's Merry Christmas music video wearing a blue cherry dress. That year she also played a cameo in his video to promote his Mathematics Tour in North America. The pair, who first met at school in Suffolk, re-created their classroom days in a promotional video for the latest leg of his world tour. Fans of the pop star were thrilled to see Cherry sitting at a desk behind Ed in the mock classroom where they pretend to be having a maths lesson. The video starts with Ed causing trouble by throwing a paper plane across the room, then Cherry passes him a love note. Cherry, who is wearing an orange jumper and glasses, then puts her head down and gets on with the pretend class, while Ed is distracted by songs playing from his mathematically named albums. The pair, who met at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham as children, sweetly have matching colourful pencil cases in the video, which were popular in the 2000's. Cherry also landed a role in Sheeran's music video for his single, Put It All On Me. The video shares the love story of a number of different couples, including Ed And Cherry, who are seen dancing and cuddling in their kitchen. Ed Sheeran plays secret set in Wexford pub Cherry has also acted alongside her husband a couple of times and played a Rebel in 2019 film, The Rise of Skywalker, where she can be seen standing next to Sheeran, who is dressed in an alien suit. She also starred alongside Ed in Danny Boyle's hit movie, Yesterday, making an appearance as cabin crew and handing out champagne on Ed's private jet. The pair started dating in 2015. TV review: Irish-filmed Wednesday is the perfect watch for parents and teens
If you're looking for something to watch with your teenager, make it Wednesday (Netflix). My wife and our teenage daughter raved about the first series. You hate to be left out of these things, so I made the teenager watch the first episode of season two. The story isn't really the thing, it's just an American take on Harry Potter, with more teenage sass. But the performances are off the scale. Jenna Ortega is hilarious as Wednesday Addams, completely believable as your goth older sister. No smiles, no affection, she 'plays the cello, not the violin' as she puts it herself. Catherine Zeta-Jones is her mother Morticia, a caring Mom behind the tough witch exterior. The stand-out so far in season two is Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, the new principal of Nevermore, the school for outcasts that hosts all the action. You forget that he's just very very good at acting. Here he is, The Simpsons' Ned Flanders made flesh, full of go-getting cliches and funny clangers, none better when he introduces a song from 'that great American outcast, Bruce Springsteen'. What really makes Wednesday is that it has Tim Burton all over it. He's the executive producer and directs a few episodes so not only does it look great, but he makes it possible to laugh out loud in terror during a few scenes. (left-right) Joy Sunday, Isaac Ordonez, Luis Guzman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jenna Ortega, Joanna Lumley, Fred Armisen, Emma Myers, Georgie Farmer, Billie Piper and Steve Buscemi arriving for the global premiere of season two of Wednesday, at Central Hall in Westminster, London. The hook in season two is that Wednesday has a stalker. (She also has a black heart, so she's delighted with this.) Just like in season one, where she finally revealed the identity of a monster terrorising the school, we're given a raft of suspects for the baddy. Principal Barry Dort is in the frame because he's such an obvious dork. Billie Piper's superb character Miss Capri is a bit too perfect, so we have her card marked 'psycho' as well. Joanna Lumley is cropping up later as Wednesday's granny, so you'd think it wouldn't be her, which means it probably is But really, the enjoyment here is the lightness of touch, as the story sends up high-school dramas one minute, and super-violent horrors the next. Who knew that bleak evil could be so funny? My daughter for one. I loved watching it with her, laughing at the same jokes, telling her she was only slightly grumpier than Wednesday Addams. We've gone beyond those animated Disney shows like Frozen that were made to give Mom and Dad a laugh as well. You don't need to have watched season one of Wednesday to pick up on season two, but there is no good reason to miss TV this good. Give it a watch, with or without a teenager.
