Ex-GA school bus driver charged after multiple students attack 7-year-old during route, deputies say
A school bus driver is off the job after a child was attacked during his route, Georgia deputies said.

On Wednesday, Bulloch County Student Resource Officer Dep. Julian Brown, who is assigned to William James Middle School, received a report about an attack on a child during the morning bus route on April 18.
The sheriff's office said it was later confirmed that seven students, ages five through 14, initiated a physical fight on a 7-year-old student during the morning bus route to the Mattie Lively Elementary School.
Authorities said the attack happened while the bus was traveling on Highway 301 North in Statesboro.

Investigators said after reviewing bus camera footage, the seven students were identified and charged with battery.
Also, investigators said the bus driver, 70-year-old Joey Edwin Jackson, was arrested and charged with cruelty to children in the second degree and failure to report child abuse.
According to the sheriff's office, Jackson is no longer employed by the Board of Education.

As for the students, all seven have been suspended from their respective schools. Their arrest information has been sent to the Department of Juvenile Justice for further court proceedings.
The Board of Education, Sgt. Bubba Revell and each school involved continue to investigate the incident.

Woman and family members kill her husband in self-defense at Buckhead apartment complex, police say
Atlanta police are investigating a fight between a husband and wife that turned deadly in Buckhead. At about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the Cortland Peachtree Battle apartment complex at 2420 Peachtree Road in Atlanta to reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a man dead in a hallway. Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Andrew Smith said a man in his mid-30s entered the apartment building, approached the apartment of his wife, also in her mid-30s, and fired two shots. Smith said the man and woman were in the process of getting a divorce. Police aren't sure at this time how he was able to enter the building and have not revealed how the woman and her family members killed the man. Police urge anyone with information about this shooting to call Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous. 26-year-old man dead after motorcycle hits tree in Warren County
A 26-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash in Warren County on Wednesday. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] State troopers from the Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) responded at 8:23 p.m. to reports of a crash on North Waynesville Road, north of Hollingsworth Road in Turtle Creek Township. The 26-year-old man who died has been identified as Mathew Schmitz of Fairfield Township, according to an OSHP spokesperson.
