Wanderers' U18s secure the league title with victory at Chesterfield
Wanderers' Under-18 side have been crowned Youth Alliance League Northern champions following a 2-0 victory at Chesterfield.
Bolton only needed a point to finish top of the table but secured all three thanks to goals from David Abimbola and Latrell Lewis during the first half.
It has been an impressive season for Julian Darby's side, who also won the LFA Professional Youth Cup after beating Blackpool in the final earlier this month.
Wanderers have only lost once in the league this season and that defeat came against Salford over the weekend when a significant number of the squad were on first team duties at Peterborough.

Abimbola, Harrison Rice and Harley Irwin were all back in the starting line-up against Chesterfield, several days on from their trip to London Road.
Abimbola, in particular, has had some valuable experience around the senior squad lately, making his first League One start at Lincoln City on Easter Monday.
Daeshon Lawrence has also been an important player for the Under-18s over the past season but was absent from the squad, potentially with the B Team's final against Burnley tonight in mind.
Darby, of course, had a stint with the first team this season. The club legend was in the dugout for the victories against Huddersfield and Northampton with assistance from Andy Taylor and Andrew Tutte.
Wanderers have won 19 of their 23 league matches since the start of the campaign to see off competition from Wrexham for the title. Bolton have another league game to play this weekend against Shrewsbury at Lostock.
Earlier this month, Darby said: 'I love it with the kids, they're a really good group and they've done really well this year.'
He added: 'They're an excellent group. I can't speak highly enough and I just hope that a few of them get that chance to play at the stadium.'

Wycombe Wanderers set to sign former Manchester City goalkeeper
Mikki van Sas is expected to join Wycombe on loan this summer (Image: Martin Rickett/PA Images) Wycombe Wanderers are expected to sign Feyenoord goalkeeper Mikki van Sas. The 21-year-old, who spent three years at Manchester City between 2020 and 2023, is set to replace Will Norris as the Chairboys' number one for the upcoming 2025/26 season. Advertisement The Adams Park side had hopes to secure the services of Reading shot-stopper Joel Pereira, but those plans were thwarted after he signed a contract extension with the Berkshire-based team. For Wanderers, van Sas' pending arrival will mean he will become Wycombe's sixth first-choice keeper since 2020. Ryan Allsop was the undisputed number one between 2018 and 2021 before he was dropped for David Stockdale, who played 63 consecutive league games for Wycombe. His departure in 2022 saw Max Stryjek join, but after some erratic displays in 2023/24, he was displaced by Franco Ravizzoli. The Argentine was virtually ever-present (excluding two games) in the league for roughly 12 months when Will Norris joined on a free transfer from Portsmouth in February and displaced the South American. Advertisement And despite keeping 10 clean sheets in 19 matches at the back end of last season, his displays were not as convincing as hoped, with high-profile errors coming in defeats against Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic, respectively. This has led the club to look into the market, with van Sas poised to sign. It is also expected that with fellow keepers Shamal George and Lauri Shala still on the books at HP12, Norris will leave Wanderers this summer. Ravizzoli will also depart the South Buckinghamshire side once his contract expires on June 30. For van Sas, the Dutchman spent last year on loan at Vitesse. Advertisement He has also played for the national team's U15s, 16s and 18s and U19s, but he has yet to make his professional debut for the first team. He has also not featured for Feyenoord's men's team following his arrival in 2023.

Veteran Walsall forward Adomah signs new deal
Versatile forward Albert Adomah has signed a new one-year contract with Walsall. The 37-year-old made 54 appearances for the Saddlers last term, including 42 in the league, as they lost in the League One play-off final despite being 12 points clear at the top of the table at the start of the year and 10 points ahead of fourth place with 11 games remaining. Advertisement Adomah joined Walsall from Queens Park Rangers last summer and his first season at the Bescot Stadium saw him make the 700th appearance of his 17-year career. "I feel really loved here by the supporters and I want to keep playing as much as I possibly can and helping the team wherever I can as well," Adomah said. "Unfortunately, last season didn't finish with the moment that we all wanted it to but I really enjoyed my time here and it was an easy decision for me to decide to stay here for another year." Adomah is the second member of the Saddlers squad in the last few days to agree fresh terms ahead of the new season after midfielder Ronan Maher signed on for another two years.
