'God is watching': TV actress Puja Banerjee after being accused of extortion amid house mortgage and scam claims
In a shocking turn of events, television couple Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma — who recently opened up about being victims of a massive financial fraud — are now facing serious allegations themselves. Just when the duo had begun to share their side of a harrowing personal ordeal, they found themselves at the centre of another controversy. This time, Bengali film producer Shyam Sunder Dey and his wife Malabika have filed an FIR against the couple, accusing them of extortion, physical assault, and more. Puja Banerjee, known for her work in popular Hindi and Bengali shows, broke her silence by penning an emotional note on Instagram. Without naming names, she acknowledged the storm they're currently weathering and mentioned 'going through the toughest time' of their lives. While thanking those who have stood by them, she also offered blessings to those believing the allegations and said, 'GOD IS WATCHING.' Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma duped The accusations surfaced shortly after the couple had gone public with their own financial nightmare. In a recent video, Puja and Kunal revealed that they were victims of a large-scale scam that wiped out all their savings. Puja, who looked visibly shaken, shared that they will have to start from zero and that they lost all their savings in this fraud. The actress had also shared that they were duped by someone very close to them, on whom they placed their trust. Puja Banerjee had shared that they had mortgaged their home to recover funds lost in a financial scam, and now face the risk of losing it. In one of the vlogs, she showed that she visited the Icchapurti Hanuman temple with her son, praying for strength and stability. As he recited the Hanuman Chalisa, Puja's emotional plea was for her child to always have a roof above his head.

CM Rekha Gupta warns Kunal Kamra can perform ‘at his own risk', comedian mocks it as 'Delhi tourism tagline'
Comedian Kunal Kamra took a swipe at Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta by suggesting that 'come at your own risk' should be a tagline for Delhi Tourism. Kamra's remark was in response to Gupta's earlier said that Kamra could come and perform in Delhi, but 'at his own risk'. "'Come at your own risk' should be a tagline for Delhi Tourism," Kamra posted on their social media handle X. While speaking at a media event organised by The Indian Express group, Chief Minister Gupta was asked if she would allow comedians like Kunal Kamra to do a show in Delhi, where he would likely crack jokes on the Prime Minister and other people. The CM responded: 'He can come at his own risk. People of Delhi would listen to him.' When another newspaper representative asked how a chief minister can say 'at his own risk' and not at her assurance, Gupta responded, 'Right, you come, I will welcome you.' In another post, Kamra said, 'Spoke like a true ABVP Karyakarta while having the opportunity to speak as a dignified Chief Minister.' Stand-up comic Kamra has been in the eye of a storm over his February 2025 YouTube special, Naya Bharat, in which he used a modified version of a Hindi song from the Shahrukh-Khan starrer Dil Toh Pagal Hai to describe the 2022 rebellion of Eknath Shinde against Uddhav Thackeray. 'Come at your own risk' should be a tagline for Delhi Tourism. In the video, filmed at the Habitat Studio at the UniContinental hotel in Mumbai's Khar district, Kamra took a dig at Eknath Shinde through a parody of a Bollywood song, labelling him a 'gaddar' for his political manoeuvrings. The Habitat Studio was allegedly vandalised by workers linked to Shiv Sena (Shinde Group). In 2020, Kunal Kamra shared a video of him heckling Republic TV founder Arnab Goswami on board a Mumbai-Lucknow Indigo flight in 2020. In a two-minute video he posted on his Twitter account (now X), Kamra is heard saying to Arnab, 'Here, I am asking coward Arnab about his journalism and he is doing exactly what I expected him to do.' Throughout all this, Arnab kept quiet. The video divided the internet. Some, including Congress MP Shashi Tharoor supported Kamra. Others, including the then Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri called Kamra's behaviour 'offensive' After an investigation, IndiGo banned Kamra for six months, deeming his act a Level 1 offence. Later, the ban was reduced to three months. Other airlines, including Air India, SpiceJet, and GoAir, also followed suit, imposing similar bans on the comedian. Key Takeaways Political satire remains a contentious issue in India, especially regarding public performances. Comedians often use humor to address and critique political statements and figures. Public figures should be prepared for their comments to be scrutinized and satirized.

Poet Kumar Vishwas On Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3: " Yeh Jo Ahankar Ho Gaya Hain Na Stars Ko Ki..."
New Delhi: Hindi Poet, lecturer, and former politician Kumar Vishwas was recently a guest on NDTV Creators Manch. He shared his thoughts on the Hania Aamir- Sardaar Ji 3 row. Amid the ongoing backlash that Diljit Dosanjh has received for starring alongside a Pakistani actress in light of the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, Kumar Vishwas reacts to whether boycotting the film is justified. He says, " Mera kehna yeh hai, mein toh mohabbat ki baat karu, aur aap waha kalakaar hoke nafrat ki baat kare mere mulk, fauji, aur sarkaar ke liye kare. Toh phir aisi aman ki asha ka kabutar aap mere darwaaze pe na bheje." #NDTVCreatorsManch | Poet Kumar Vishwas reacts to #SardaarJi3 row @DrKumarVishwas @awasthis — NDTV (@ndtv) June 27, 2025 He adds, " Aur yeh jo ahankar ho gaya hain na stars ko, ki mera kya hai? Mein toh gaa dunga. Yeh bohut galat baat hai, kiske banaye gaye ho tum? Meri responsibility yeh jo log ticket deke Kumar Vishwas ko dekhne aaye hai, unke prati hain. Inke ghar o mein toh gola aake padh raha hain, inka sipahi toh tirange mein lapet ke aa rahe hain. Aur uski mazaak bana ne waale ladki ke saath aap bol rahe hai mein uske saath film bana lunga, gaana bana lunga? Zaroor gaunga huzoor, gaana likhunga bhi aapke liye. Par aap bhi boliye yeh jung bekar hain kyunki aap ko bhi pata hain shuru kaun karta hai aur khatam kaun karta hain." What We Know So Far Diljit Dosanjh has been in the eye of storm eversince the trailer drop of Sardaar Ji 3 where the audience saw a glimpse of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The Internet has reacted strongly to Diljit Dosanjh's collaboration with Pakistani star Hania Aamir, especially after the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny certification to the film as the movie's cast members also included Pakistani actors Hania Aamir, Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar and Saleem Albela. As a result, the makers decided to skip the film's theatrical release in India. Sardaar Ji 3 has released overseas today.
