AMD is headed to Computex 2025, and PC builders eager for a first look at what the company has in store can watch live.
AMD's press conference isn't an official Computex keynote, but the company promises to showcase its business plans for the PC market from Taiwan. Given the time difference, AMD's event will kick off at an inconvenient time for US viewers. Stream it on Tuesday, May 20 at 8 p.m. PT/ 11 p.m. ET via AMD.com or AMD's YouTube channel (embedded above).
AMD CEO Lisa Su won't be headlining the press conference. Instead, the company is tapping its SVP for its computing and graphics group, Jack Huynh, to deliver the speech. In a tweet last month, Huynh said the company will take the stage in Taipei to "unveil groundbreaking AI advancements that are redefining gaming, PCs, and professional workloads."
A more recent tweet from AMD's Gaming division also signals the company will announce new graphics cards, likely the Radeon RX 9060 XT, a lower-tier GPU from the RX 9070 and 9070 XT, which landed in March. If true, we'll be looking out for the price, launch date, and performance benchmarks. Current rumors say the RTX 9060 XT will arrive in an 8GB video memory model and a 16GB model.
In addition to GPUs, AMD might introduce new Ryzen CPU chips, like it did at last year's Computex. The company is facing more competition than ever, especially after Qualcomm made a major push into powering Windows PCs last year. How will AMD respond? Stay tuned for our coverage.

Why AMD Stock Gained 14% in May

AMD beat estimates on top and bottom lines in its first-quarter earnings report. The company benefited from a broader recovery in the stock market. It signed a $10 billion deal with a Saudi Arabian artificial intelligence (AI) company. 10 stocks we like better than Advanced Micro Devices › Shares of Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) were moving higher last month after the chipmaker posted better-than-expected results in its first-quarter earnings report, signed a deal with a Saudi Arabian artificial intelligence (AI) start-up, and benefited from the broader recovery trend in the market as investors seemed to look past tariff concerns. As a result, AMD finished the month up 14%, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. As you can see from the chart, most of the stock's gains came in the second week of the month, when its earnings report came out. Coming into May, AMD stock had fallen sharply over the last year, as investors had bid up the stock on hopes for its AI chips. However, after a reset in the price, investors are returning to the stock, as it's delivering strong growth, including in the data center, where AI growth is taking place. AMD gained 2% on its earnings report on May 7, as the company reported 36% revenue growth to $7.44 billion, well ahead of the consensus at $7.12 billion. In the data center segment, revenue jumped 57% to $3.7 billion, driven by strong growth of EPYC CPU chips and Instinct GPU chips, which compete directly with Nvidia. The client segment, which serves the PC market, was strong as well, with revenue up 68% to $2.3 billion. On the bottom line, adjusted earnings per share jumped from $0.62 to $0.96, edging out estimates at $0.93. The stock rallied in the subsequent days following that report as the U.S. and China agreed to lower tariff rates, and after the Trump administration said it would rescind "AI diffusion" rules, which restricted shipments of advanced chips to certain foreign countries. That paved the way for AMD to make a deal with Humain, a Saudi Arabian AI-start-up, as the two companies announced that they would form a $10 billion collaboration to deploy 500 megawatts of AI computer capacity over the next five years. Additionally, AMD announced a $6 billion share repurchase authorization, showing the company aims to take advantage of the discount in the share price. With momentum building in the data center and a strong performance in the client segment, AMD looks to be in good shape for further gains. The company doesn't have to catch Nvidia to be successful in AI, as there as plenty of spillover demand, as well as companies looking for cheaper options. That should favor AMD as the AI boom continues to play out. AT&T Targets Seniors With Cheaper 55+ Plan: What You Need to Know

PCMag editors select and review products independently. If you buy through affiliate links, we may earn commissions, which help support our testing. AT&T is expanding its plan for seniors, offering it for as low as $35 per month with two lines. The carrier's new AT&T 55+ wireless plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data. The plan was previously only available to Florida residents at $60 for two lines and $80 for one line. But it looks like AT&T is expanding it nationwide to new and existing customers aged 55 or older. Importantly, the deal only costs $40 per month for one line or $35 per month for two lines for a total of $70. That's a good bargain for qualifying customers, considering AT&T's "unlimited starter SL" plan goes for $65.99 per month for one line. "At AT&T, we recognize the importance of addressing the unique needs of our 55 and better audience—a demographic that values simplicity and seamless connectivity in today's fast-paced digital world,' the carrier says. The catch is that senior customers need to enroll in wireless billing and autopay with a bank account, not just a debit or credit card, to receive the discount. The listed price is also before taxes and fees. 'Activation/upgrade fee per line (up to $50) & deposit may apply,' the terms and conditions say. So, the final cost to users may be higher than advertised. In addition, AT&T says it can temporarily slow the subscribers' data speeds 'if the network is busy,' signaling consumers won't be receiving priority access. Interested users can sign up through the carrier's website, which may require eligible users to submit documentation to verify their ages. 'For failed age verification, an additional $20/mo. per line charge will apply unless the customer calls to cancel or change plans,' AT&T says. For seniors looking for even bigger savings, the company is offering an additional deal that bundles '2 wireless lines + AT&T Internet 300 or AT&T Internet Air for $99/mo plus taxes and fees.'
