'Leave Her Alone': Kerala Man Faces Deportation From UK For Stalking Colleague Despite Arrests
Asish Jose Paul, 26, from Kerala, faces UK deportation for repeatedly stalking a female colleague at London Zoo despite warnings and arrests.
A 26-year-old Kerala man is facing deportation from the UK after he was found repeatedly stalking a female colleague at London Zoo, despite multiple warnings and arrests.
The accused, identified as Asish Jose Paul, ignored multiple police warnings, court bail conditions, and even a restraining order before being sent back, The Daily Mail reported.
Since January this year, he has been arrested multiple times, released on bail, and repeatedly ordered not to approach the girl, but he continued to do so.
As per the report, he pursued a master's degree in accounting and finance at Anglia Ruskin University (2022-2023) and worked at the London Zoo cafe, where he met the woman, identified as Lutaruta Masiulonyte.
Paul harassed his female co-worker by bombarding her with text messages, flowers and chocolates over six months between July and December last year, despite her making it clear she was uncomfortable. He even proposed to her.
Paul had used three SIM cards and a friend's phone to keep contacting the victim. When she blocked his number, he continued to pursue her by showing up at her workplace uninvited.
He was arrested and released on bail with instructions not to contact her or return to the zoo. But he reached the very next day, telling Royal Park staff he was 'in love" with her. He was then re-arrested, charged with stalking, and given bail with conditions not to enter the Borough of Westminster in London, the report added.
However, the man continued to do so. He was imposed a six-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months, 20 days of rehabilitation activity, and a ten-year restraining order. He was also warned that he met the criteria for deportation once his visa expires in September 2025.
The woman said that this incident had taken a toll on her emotionally and psychologically.
'The harassment was going on for so long it drained me. I feel scared and anxious being in London. My friends and family are worried for me and for my safety," the woman was quoted as saying by the news outlet.
'I lost my independence through the harassment. I have to rely on someone to be with me to feel safe," she added.
However, Georgina Lane, the defence lawyer, said there is no proof that significant distress was caused to the woman.
Lane further said that Paul had reduced responsibility due to a mental disorder and learning disabilities, and that he had 'learned his lesson" after time spent in custody.
Sentencing Paul, Judge Jas Jandu said, 'You have to leave her alone, Mr Paul, do you understand? Or it could be up to five years in prison. Your visa is due to expire on September 13, 2025. You meet the requirements for deportation unless you are granted a new visa," the Judge further warned the Indian-national."

According to the report, the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam underscored the extent of the technological infiltration in the region where security forces seized Huawei satellite phones, Chinese-manufactured GPS devices, body cameras, and encrypted communication systems from the attack site. These recoveries marked a shift from unsophisticated militant operations to coordinated, technology-driven warfare that capitalises on Chinese infrastructure and expertise. It further mentioned that the cutting-edge network architecture enabled terrorists to coordinate in real-time, while keeping their operations secure. The operational impact, it stated, was visible during Operation Mahadev, when Indian security forces tracked terrorists using signals from a Chinese satellite phone activated in the Baisaran area. However, the elimination of three Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives, including the alleged mastermind of the Pahalgam attack, highlighted not only technology's capabilities but also its weaknesses when effectively countered. China's engagement, the report detailed, extends beyond hardware to building a comprehensive digital infrastructure. Through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the telecom towers operated by China Mobile Pakistan (Zong) across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir provided digital coverage that reached Indian districts, including Kupwara, Rajouri, Poonch, and Uri. This network, the report said, created multiple layers of operational support for terrorist activities. It also emphasised that China's supply of sophisticated communication systems, surveillance capabilities, and weapons technology allowed Pakistan to deny any direct involvement while it escalated the lethality of terrorist operations. The China-Pakistan collaboration has led to several destabilising effects. "The entrenchment of Chinese technology in Kashmir's militant ecosystem represents more than a tactical evolution; it constitutes a strategic challenge to Indian sovereignty and regional stability. The China-Pakistan nexus has created a sophisticated support system that enhances terrorist capabilities while maintaining plausible deniability for state sponsors,' the report noted.

Mathura turns into fortress for Janmashtami, vehicles entry banned in city
Mathura (UP), Aug 15 (PTI) Mathura on Friday transformed into a virtual fortress on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, with thousands of police personnel deployed across the city to ensure the safety of lakhs of devotees. District authorities divided the city in four zones and 18 sectors, deploying more than 5,000 police officers and personnel. With the three-day Krishna Mahotsav underway, the entry of all heavy vehicles into the city has been banned. In addition, due to heavy footfall on routes leading to the Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple, the movement of vehicles has also been restricted, officials said. Social media activity is under strict watch, and the inner area of the Janmasthan temple has been designated a red zone with extra police presence. The yellow and green zones around it are manned by plain-clothed personnel, including women officers. Barricades have been set up at multiple points, where police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) teams are screening visitors to prevent the entry of unwanted elements, they said. Armed robbers loot Rs 61 lakh from cash van in MPs Chhatarpur
Agency: PTI Chhatarpur, Aug 15 (PTI) Two armed men on Friday robbed more than Rs 61 lakh from a cash van heading to load money into an ATM in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district, police said. The incident occurred near Sinchhari Tirahe under the Gaurihar police station limits, they said. Manish Kumar and his colleague were taking van with currency notes to an ATM kiosk in Sarbai when two men on a motorcycle intercepted them and threatened them at gunpoint before fleeing with Rs 61,17,100 cash, Luvkush Nagar Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Naveen Dubey told reporters here.
