
Operation Bullet: Delhi Police arrest two, recover 10 stolen bikes
Police received a tip-off on Tuesday around 6 pm about two known bike thieves planning to sell a stolen Royal Enfield Bullet in the Bhalswa Dairy area. 'A trap was laid near Bhalswa Lake, Mukundpur, and two suspects were caught while riding a Royal Enfield Bullet. The bike was found to be stolen from Swaroop Nagar,' the police said.
During questioning, the accused revealed the locations where other stolen motorcycles were hidden. 'Police raided several places in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and recovered nine more stolen motorcycles from different spots,' the officer said.
Both accused admitted to multiple thefts. 'They used to break handle locks and bypass ignition circuits to start motorcycles without keys. In one case, they stole a motorcycle from a house compound and tried to break into the home but failed,' the officer added.

Avyaan Realtors charged a hefty fine for CRZ violations
Visakhapatnam: Avyaan Realtors has been charged a fine of Rs 17.50 crore by the CRZ for violating rules, said GVMC corporator and Jana Sena Party leader Peethala Murthy Yadav. Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, he said that public interest litigation has been filed in the High Court seeking action against the illegal construction carried out at Bheemili beach by the company belonging to P Neha Reddy, daughter of Rajya Sabha former member P Vijaya Sai Reddy. Responding to this, the High Court issued orders for the demolition of structures, he mentioned. The JSP leader brought to the attention of the court that massive concrete structures built at the sea coast caused severe environmental destruction. Meanwhile, the High Court ordered a committee with a group of environmental experts to examine and submit a report on it. A team of experts from various departments visited the site of illegal constructions and assessed the extent of damage, compensation to be paid. They included Moturi Srirama Krishna Principal Scientist, National institute of Oceanography, VVS Sarma WS-chief scientist, CSIR-NIO, PV Mukunda Rao, environmental engineer, APPCB, scientists Soumya Duggappa, CPCB, regional directorate, Chennai, Murali Krishna Chimata, MoEF&CC Sub-Regional Office, Vijayawada. Based on the orders, the expert committee examined the spot and imposed a penalty of Rs 17.45 crore, informed Murthy Yadav. The JSP leader stressed that destruction took place on the seashore for 1,455 days from 2021 to 2025 at Bheemili beach. The committee has recommended collecting a penalty of Rs 1.20 lakh per day, a total of Rs 17.45 crore, from Neha Reddy's company, he informed. The committee also recommended removing the remaining structures completely within three months, otherwise the penalty will be doubled. It also suggested that the penalty amount should be deposited with the Coastal Management Authority.

HC directs govt to file status report on Sigachi disaster by Aug 27
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court division bench of CJ Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice P Sam Koshy on Thursday directed the government to file a comprehensive status report on the Sigachi factory disaster at Patancheru furnishing details of paying compensation to the kin of the 46 deceased workers, seriously injured and others and action taken against the management. Vasudha Nagaraj, counsel for the petitioner, informed the CJ court that 46 workers were declared dead, 28 suffered serious injuries and eight workers were declared missing in the disaster on July 1. The government has not paid the assured full and final compensation of Rs. 1 crore to each deceased family members; no action has been initiated against the management. The CJ, after hearing the counsel and the Additional A-G T Rajnikanth Reddy, enquired about the case registered against Sigachi and the stage of investigation; whether any arrests were made. The GP for Home Mahesh Raje informed no arrests were made. The CJ court, during the hearing observed that the government should not treat this PIL as an adversarial litigation, but it should put in all its endeavours to extend all facilities to the families of all deceased workers, who hail from Bihar, MP and other States. The bench heard the PIL filed by K Babu Rao, a retired scientist, seeking a direction to the government to pay full and final ex-gratia of Rs. 1 crore to each of deceased workers kin. The petitioner urged the court to instruct the government to ensure strict monitoring of industrial safety measures to prevent such tragedies. Hearing in the case was adjourned to August 27.

13-Year-Old Boy Kidnapped, Murdered In Bengaluru, Burnt Body Recovered

His burnt body was found at a deserted area along Kaggalipura Road. Parents also received a call for ransom and Rs 5 lakh were demanded. As per a report by NDTV , the boy was a Class 8 student of Christ School. He went missing on Wednesday and as the parents received the ransom call, they filed a police complaint. A missing and kidnapping case was filed with Hulimavu police station. As per the police, the boy left for tuition at 5 pm on Wednesday and went missing from Arekere 80 Feet Road. When he didn't return till 7:30 pm, his mother called the tuition teacher and found that the boy left tuition classes on time. As per the complaint filed by victim's father, JC Achit, they started looking for the boy and found their son's bicycle near Arekere family park. Police are investigating the case and further details will be shared in the due course of time.
