Hull bring in ex-Sheff Utd striker McBurnie
McBurnie joins Hull on a free transfer, having left Spanish club Las Palmas, where he played last season.
Before going to La Liga, the 29-year-old spent five years with the Blades, in which he scored 29 goals in 159 games.
The Scotland international's best season saw him score 15 as Sheffield United won promotion from the Championship in 2023.
"There's something to be said for a team and a manager that really wants you," he told the club's website.
"When I spoke to the manager, the first thing he said to me was, 'Can you score me 15 goals?'"
McBurnie spent a season in La Liga, and despite beating both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid during the campaign, he played in a Las Palmas side who finished 19th and were relegated.
But he is swapping life in Gran Canaria for another crack at the Championship as part of Sergej Jakirovic's revamped Tigers squad.
"For me to come back to England, it had to be something special," he said.
"I needed to come back for something that excites me and, at the same time, is right for me and my family."
Hull begin their Championship season away to Coventry City on Saturday (12:30 BST).
