Robbie Williams' Bath gig 'chaotic' premium ticket holders say
Premium ticket holders say they feel let down after paying double the price for a "chaotic" experience at a Robbie Williams concert.The sold-out event on Friday was the first of two performances to be held at the Royal Crescent in Bath, Somerset. The singer performed to 15,000 people in what was described as "the most intimate show of his tour".But those who splashed out on a Golden Circle ticket said they did not receive the VIP experience they were promised and were instead "crammed" into the crowd.Concert promoters Senbla said the issue has been "rectified for this evening's concert by putting into place stronger communications lines between our security teams and event staff".
A Golden Circle ticket cost about double the price of general admission.It claimed to offer a spacious standing experience, access to a VIP hospitality area, a dedicated entrance and food and drinks before the show.
But Peter Hayes, from Gloucester, said the reality was "really disappointing"."We've paid £266 for the Golden Circle and were promised lots of different things," he said."We've come through pretty much the same entrance as everyone else, and the Golden Circle is currently inaccessible. "There's so many people crammed in, there's no way I want to go into that."I've actually found myself in the ordinary ticket area, just happy to be in a bit of space."Mr Hayes said he had to queue for more than 90 minutes to be served at the bars, one of which had run out of everything except soft drinks by 19:45 BST.
Daisy, from Leicester, told the BBC on Friday: "It's absolutely packed, there's no staff anywhere and there's no directions for anything. "It was chaos, so I did not get searched or anything, which didn't really reassure me."Rina Pengilly said she had bought the premium tickets four months prior as a surprise for her father. "It was meant to be a very special occasion and we can't even get in," she said. "My dad needs special assistance so I wanted to be in the Golden Circle for his own safety, so that's why it's disappointing."
A spokesperson for Senbla denied claims that the tickets for the Golden Circle section were oversold. "Last night Robbie Williams wowed the audience with a spectacular show, the first night of two he is performing in Bath," they said."There was a very small issue with Golden Circle ticket holders yesterday evening, where later into the concert there were pinch points causing delays to the entry of the Golden Circle section. This section was not oversold."We have ensured that this has been rectified for this evening's concert by putting into place stronger communications lines between our security teams and event staff."

My unexpected Pride icon: the diva women of fighting video games inspired me
Growing up, fighting video games such as Tekken and Street Fighter were a core part of bonding during summer holidays for my brothers and I. For me, beat-em-ups were less about nurturing any masculine impulses toward strength and destruction, and more about the lore of the fighting game and its varied fighting styles, which played like a dance on the TV screen. That, and the ever-expanding rosters of sexy, glamorous femme fatales. There is a joke I have often heard that you know a young boy may be of the lavender persuasion if he only picks female characters in beat-em-up fighting video games – the parents might think it's because he fancies them, but really it's a form of diva worship. That was certainly true for me. As a fan of the Japanese beat-em-up fighting series Tekken, I have had a lifelong fascination with two characters: Nina Williams and her sister, Anna. Nina debuted in the very first Tekken game in 1994. A complex, ice cold, blond bombshell assassin from Northern Ireland, Nina is distinct for her skin-tight purple outfits and knee-high boots, with a fighting style which blends aikido and koppojutsu. While the Tekken community believe her early designs appeared to be derived from Sharon Stone's performance in Basic Instinct, later iterations of the character drew from a wider pool of femme fatales including Kill Bill's Beatrix Kiddo (in Tekken 7, Nina wears a destroyed wedding gown). Why did Nina unlock a kind of queer longing in me? Certainly there's the adoration of femininity that was consistent for me as a child with a precocious sense of my sexuality, but there was also something in the precision and elegance of her movements. Where other Tekken characters relied on brutish punches and head-butts, female characters such as Nina delighted me with their slaps, jabs and rhythmic, pirouetting gracefulness. As a young gay kid who was often teased and bullied for a preference to hop, skip, jump and prance around like a ballet dancer, I drew confidence from Nina's own assuredness. Over the course of the series, Nina Williams enjoyed an intense, campy rivalry with her younger, arguably more glamorous sister Anna, which entailed stolen dresses and heels, dramatic slaps, snatched bikini tops, and one murdered fiance. High camp, classic drama. But Anna clearly longs for love and acceptance from her sister despite Nina's hostile, unfeeling disposition – something which I think spoke to me as a queer boy wanting the same in a world I felt didn't want me. When Tekken 8 was released last year, Anna Williams was left off the roster, prompting backlash. When she was finally released in an update, redesigned with an asymmetrical bob with red highlights and a bazooka nicknamed 'Lucky Tom', there was much celebration particularly from queer fans. Mother is back! But Tekken isn't especially sentient about its appeal to queer audiences (despite the inclusion of a genderless character, Leo Kliesen, in the sixth game). In a video discussing Anna's popularity, series game designer Michael Murray expressed surprise that 'Anna is really popular among LGBTQ+ players', while executive producer Katsuhiro Harada remarked that 'Anna is particularly popular among lesbians'. Much of this is because of Anna's personality in the series – histrionic, flirtatious and sensual. In an interaction with an older male character she says, 'well hello you silver fox, looking for a good time?' I'm planning to steal that line to set up my next Grindr encounter.

I'm literally in my head going "Oh my god she hasn't eaten this is really scary". 'Sophie then gets so angry she says to me "I'm so angry I want to drive us both into the back of this car and kill us". And then she started crying!' Sophie confessed that the 'anger is uncontrollable' but that it 'was very fleeting' as she lamented how her 'enormous t*ts' also meant she couldn't fit in any of her clothes. Jamie candidly told listeners how he owed her a real apology after not taking her hormones seriously and threatening to leave her over her 'grumpiness'. Sophie said: 'Jamie was like "Oh you're just milking it, you fake all your hormones, there's no such thing". He went "Oh you're just faking all of this." I was like "Oh my god" as I'm lying there with my enormous t*ts out and I can't fit into a single thing.' Showing their Chelsea roots, the couple also revealed that Sophie's worst craving so far was for caviar, recounting how they had dashed around London trying to find a shop that was open at 8pm. Jamie explained they eventually found a caviar store only to discover a single pot cost £240, as he declared: 'I was like "Well that craving has to stop there and then". Sophie revealed that after some Googling, she learned it is recommended that pregnant people avoid the expensive delicacy due to the risks of bacteria and mercury. However, she confessed that the risks were the only thing that stopped her from eating it, otherwise, she would not have allowed the hefty price tag to put her off.
