The Dutch government reported on Monday, June 23, that pro-Russian hackers carried out coordinated denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against several municipalities and organizations tied to this week's NATO summit in The Hague. The National Cybersecurity Center confirmed that a hacking group identifying itself as NoName057(16) claimed responsibility for the cyberattacks. While the group's motive was not fully detailed, authorities stated the activity appears to be ideologically pro-Russian. The attacks involved overwhelming targeted websites with excessive data to force them offline. Also read: Russian hackers 'targeted Dutch public facility' The cybersecurity center said it is actively investigating the incidents and is coordinating efforts with both national and international partners to assess and mitigate any further risks. Specifics on the impacted organizations were not released.Raoul Rozestraten, a spokesperson for the municipality of The Hague, which is hosting the two-day NATO summit on Tuesday and Wednesday, confirmed that the attacks were widespread.'We noticed more traffic on the website of some of our service providers,' Rozestraten told The Associated Press. 'As of now, everything in The Hague is working normally.'Although the attacks impacted websites associated with municipalities across the Netherlands, core government services and summit operations in The Hague remained unaffected as of Monday evening. In preparation for the NATO summit, the Dutch government has implemented a major security initiative, dubbed Operation Orange Shield, to safeguard the event. The operation includes heightened cybersecurity protocols, physical security enforcement, and coordination with NATO member states. The NATO summit is expected to draw high-level international officials and has elevated concerns over both physical and digital threats. Authorities have not confirmed whether any sensitive data was compromised during the attacks. The DDoS attacks are the latest in a string of pro-Russian cyber activities targeting Western institutions, particularly those aligned with NATO or Ukraine.

'What is certain is that...': Iran says Russia supported airstrikes on US base in Qatar as Trump announces ceasefire
Iran says Russian defense minister Andrey Belousov (in photo) called Iran counterpart and extended support after Iran's attack on US base in Qatar. Iranian defence minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh claimed Russia extended its support after Iran's strike on US base in Qatar, which US President Donald Trump dismissed as a 'coordinated' attack and announced a ceasefire. Iran media reported that Russian defence minister Andrey Belousov condemned Israel's "unprovoked aggression" and declared "unequivocal support" for Iran's people. "What is certain is that we are not fighting solely the Zionist regime; the US and several other nations back this entity. Our decision remains firm: We will punish the aggressor with all our might, and we reject any imposed peace," Nasirzadesh was quoted as saying by Tehran Times. "Their true aim is weakening the Islamic Republic and spreading chaos throughout the region. Russia monitors all developments and will support Iran," Russian defense minister Andrey Belousov said. Trump has already threatened Russia after former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev said future production of nuclear weapons will continue, as a number of countries are ready to supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Ductless Air Conditioners Are Selling Like Crazy [See Why] Keep Cool Click Here Undo "Did I hear Former President Medvedev, from Russia, casually throwing around the 'N word' (Nuclear!), and saying that he and other Countries would supply Nuclear Warheads to Iran?" Trump wrote. "Did he really say that or, is it just a figment of my imagination? If he did say that, and, if confirmed, please let me know, IMMEDIATELY," he added. Trump announced a ceasefire and blamed both Israel and Iran for violating it. 'ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly 'Plane Wave' to Iran,' he wrote on Truth Social. 'Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!' he said, with his now-trademark sign off: 'Thank you for your attention to this matter! ' 'Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and dropped a boatload of bombs the likes of which I've never seen before. The biggest load that we've seen, I'm not happy with Israel,' Trump said earlier. 'Ok, when I say now you have 12 hours, you don't go out in the first hour and just drop everything you have on them. So, I'm not happy with him. I'm not happy with Iran either,' the president added.

Trump says Iran-Israel truce holds after berating both countries
US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that a ceasefire between Iran and Israel was holding, shortly after he lashed out at both countries and cursed as he accused them of violating the truce. In a fast-moving series of declarations, the 79-year-old Republican, who was on his way to attend a NATO summit in The Hague, posted on his Truth Social app that "the Ceasefire is in effect!" "ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly 'Plane Wave' to Iran. Nobody will be hurt," Trump wrote. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Mini House for 60 sqm for Seniors with Toilet and Bath (Click Here) Pre Fabricated Homes | Search Ads Search Now Undo Minutes earlier, he had castigated Iran and also close US ally Israel for violating a ceasefire he had originally announced late Monday. The two countries have been "fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the fuck they're doing, do you understand that?" the president told reporters at the White House. Live Events Iran violated the ceasefire, "but Israel violated it too," Trump told reporters on the White House's South Lawn as he departed for the NATO summit. "So I'm not happy with them. I'm not happy with Iran either. But I'm really unhappy if Israel is going out this morning." "I've got to get Israel to calm down," he said. "Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I've never seen before." Trump's unusually public display of anger at Israel saw the US leader apparently trying to cajole his ally to call off warplanes in real time. Earlier the same morning, he had posted on Truth Social: "ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS" -- without it being clear which bombs he was referring to. "IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!"
