Mum of baby found in Alexander Heights drain found and assisting police

The Agea day ago
The mother of a baby boy found dead in a stormwater drain in Alexander Heights on Monday has been found and is receiving 'appropriate care and support'.
WA Police released the statement on Wednesday evening after making a public plea for the woman to come forward.
Officers were called to La Salle Road about 1pm to reports the child's body had been found by two workmen.
On Tuesday, police confirmed the baby was a newborn boy who had been in the drain for 'several days'.
'Homicide squad have taken carriage of this investigation, and we've worked throughout the night and throughout the morning to try and bring a resolution to this investigation,' Detective Senior Sergeant Stephen Cleal said.
'There is no evidence to suggest that that little boy was washed through the drain. What we believe is the child was placed in that drain.'
Cleal said police had 'serious concerns' about the baby's mother.
'It is a priority of the homicide squad to identify the mother of that child,' he said.
'We have serious concerns for the mother's health, the mother's welfare, and that is a priority for us.

Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan's death in mystery after claims phrenic nerve was ‘severed'

There are new claims about recent the death of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan with suggestions that an error in surgery may have contributed to the 71-year-old's demise. Hogan's official cause of death was previously stated as myocardial infarction or a heart attack. But Hogan's family are still asking questions and police are still investigating. 'We have been in communication with family members — including his son, Nick, and daughter, Brooke,' police said in a new statement. 'The unique nature of this case has required us to interview multiple witnesses and seek medical records from a variety of providers, and our detectives continue to do that. 'All of this takes time. 'The Hogan family has been appreciative of our efforts and our communication with them.' Hogan's wife Sky Daily believes in a recent surgery Hogan's phrenic nerve was 'compromised'. And a police report recently said that a occupational therapist — at the scene of Hogan's death — had claimed that a surgeon had indeed 'severed' the famous wrestler's phrenic nerve. The phrenic nerve 'is a critical nerve in the human body, primarily responsible for controlling the diaphragm, the major muscle of breathing'. And a new report by TMZ sports suggests Hogan 'did not have a chest-clenching episode' that is usually associated with heart attacks, and 'he merely stopped breathing'. After he stopped breathing his wife, Sky, called 911. The police report — according to TMZ — is on 'lockdown'. Meanwhile, Hogan's daughter, Brooke, is also asking questions and says she is willing to pay for another autopsy. '(I've received) legit calls from professionals - from police officials to nurses that were supposedly with my dad on the day of his death telling me I need to see body cam footage and I need to get a hold of the 911 tapes because they supposedly contain information that could potentially shed enough light to change the narrative.' Brooke said on social media. 'I do not have answers as to if the officials who have contacted me about what they witnessed relayed this information to the medical examiner's office. 'And if they did, I do not know why it wasn't taken into consideration. 'Here's ALL I KNOW. So stop speculating, stop asking. I have also informed my brother (Nick Hogan) of all of this information who is boots on the ground with everything.' Hogan had a private funeral on August 5 but according to reports he still hasn't been cremated. Sky Daily said previously that the cremation had been delayed due to lingering questions about Hogan's death.

‘Excessive': Trump rejoices as $700m New York fraud fine tossed out

New York: A Manhattan appeals court struck down a roughly $US500 million ($780 million) fraud penalty against US President Donald Trump and his company, even as it upheld the finding that he broke the law by inflating the value of assets such as Mar-a-Lago. A five-judge panel on Thursday, New York time, agreed with Trump that the size of the fine was unconstitutionally 'excessive'. The long-awaited ruling by New York's intermediate appeals court is a major victory for Trump over New York Attorney General Letitia James, whose office brought the case, though other aspects of the April 2024 judgment remain intact. On top of the financial penalty, Trump and his sons faced a temporary ban on serving as corporate officers in New York. The company was also ordered to submit its financial records for review by an independent monitor. Those sanctions stand, though they remain on hold for possible further appeal by Trump. In a statement, James said her office would challenge the ruling at the New York Court of Appeals, the state's highest court. She also stressed that 'yet another court has ruled that the president violated the law'. Still, the massive fine had been the heart of Justice Arthur Engoron's judgment. The judge had ordered Trump last year to pay $US355 million in penalties after finding that he flagrantly padded financial statements provided to lenders and insurers. With interest, the sum has topped $US515 million. Additional penalties for executives at his company, the Trump Organisation, including sons Eric and Donald Trump jnr, have brought the total to $US527 million with interest. The elimination of the fine adds to the list of Trump's legal woes that have essentially melted away since he won re-election as president. The Justice Department dropped two federal criminal cases agaist him, citing a longstanding policy against prosecuting a sitting president. Though he was convicted of falsifying business records to conceal hush-money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, he was sentenced to no jail time.
