Little Lever reach semi finals but rain halts other ties
Captain Josh Gent and co were the only side to make it through, with the other three ties either not starting or starting and not finishing because of rain.

That means the reserve day of Sunday, July 6 will come into play for Earby versus Blackrod, Ribblesdale Wanderers versus defending champions Read and Brinscall against Padiham.
The latter was the only last-eight tie not to start. The other two matches will restart from where they were halted.
For Little Lever, however, they can put their feet up on the first Sunday in July and wait for the semi-final draw to take place.
They bowled Tonge out for 96 inside 34 overs, the hosts indebted to a superb 4-14 from eight overs for Pakistani professional Muhammad Junaid, who bowls left-arm spin.
Andy Flear and Cameron Murray also struck twice apiece to rout a Tonge side with only two batters making it beyond 10. South African overseas amateur Justin Gilliland opened with 32 and Sri Lankan pro Hashan Dumindu made 22.

In fact, Tonge lost their last nine wickets for the addition of only 32 runs from 64-1.
Australian OA Ryleigh Cameron then set the chase off nicely with an opening 39 off 25 balls, including two sixes. But he was one of six wickets to fall for 46, from 45-1, to give Tonge a slither of a chance at 91-7.
However, Flear, from number eight in the order, ensured Little Lever got over the line in only the 16th over of the chase, hitting a six and the winning boundary in 13 not out off 10 balls.
Championship side Earby will resume their quarter-final on 64-2 from 16 overs chasing 225 at home to reigning Premiership champions Blackrod, who totalled 224-5 from their 40 overs.

Thushendra De Zoysa top-scored for Blackrod with a measured 69, while Luke Hipgrave struck twice for Earby.
That Sri Lankan pro Dunith Jayathunga is unbeaten on 21 in the early stages of the Earby chase will give them confidence that a shock is on the cards.
The other game which started, between Ribblesdale Wanderers and defending champions Read, is a clash between the current league leaders in both the Championship and Premiership divisions respectively.
Visitors Read have the definite advantage having posted 261-7 from 40 overs before taking two early wickets. Wanderers will resume in just under a fortnight on 47-2 after 10 overs.

Read's commanding total was achieved thanks to opener and captain Will Wrathall, who made 87 off 107 balls with three sixes and Sri Lankan pro Sehan Weerasinghe, who top-scored a brutal 94 off 61 with four sixes included.
They shared a third-wicket 135 from 46-2.
Wanderers will, like Earby, take heart from the fact their pro is unbeaten at the crease - Sri Lankan Heshan Dhanushka having 11 to his name.

Concerning for Carden after Town humbling at Whitby
WARRINGTON Town's poor start to the season continued with a 4-0 humbling at the hands of Whitby Town. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Yellows conceded within 30 seconds of the restart and the hosts added two more goals to complete a drubbing on a concerning afternoon for Paul Carden's side. The manager handed a debut to former Blackburn defender Patrick Gamble, signed shortly before the registration deadline. There was no real sign of what was to come in the first 10 minutes, with the only half sight of goal falling to Dontai Gabidon after goalkeeper Shane Bland's poor clearance. A poor clearance at the other end led to the opening goal on 13 minutes, the ball falling to Layton Watts on the corner of the penalty area and he squared for Matty Tymon to sweep home. Michael Woods came within a whisker of making it 2-0 midway through the half, hitting a loose ball on the volley against a post, before Li-Bau Stowell got down well to save from Donald Chimalilo. Carden made a double substitution at half-time, bringing on Liam Brazier and David Morgan for his Yellows debut, but they hadn't touched the ball and it was 2-0. Connor Smith's cross from the right was headed down by Tymon for Chimalilo in the centre of the box and he gave Stowell no chance. Two became three on 53 minutes, Watts' free-kick diverted home by Tymon, who managed to squeeze the ball inside the post despite not making the best of contacts with it. It was a long afternoon for the visitors after then, though they did at least muster a shot on goal when Morgan was denied by Bland. A fourth goal came on 79 minutes, Harley Dawson finding Smith in space on the right and his side-footed effort appeared to be going in before Watts made doubly sure. Three games in to their return to the Northern Premier League and the Yellows have just one point ahead of Tuesday's home game against Ilkeston Town. Whitby: Bland, Smith, Haswell, Nelson, Whelan (Collins), Gell (McGrath), Hawkins, Woods (Dawson), Tymon (Harrison), Watts, Chimalilo (McGinley). Warrington Town: Stowell, Melhado, Doyle, Dixon (Morgan), Bourne, Gamble, Gabidon, Daly (Lloyd), Lusiama (Brazier), Harris, Murphy. Unused subs: Waters, Macormac.

Hurzeler verdict as Albion concede late leveller to Fulham
Fabian Hurzeler said he was pleased with Albion's performance as they were held to a draw by Fulham. But he was less happy about their work leading up to a late goal for the visitors. Rodrigo Muniz fired home from a corner deep in added time to cancel out a Matt O'Riley penalty. Th goal came from a flag kick after Jan Paul van Hecke had been forced to deflect a shot wide. Asked whether his side did enough to have opened the season with a win, Albion boss Hurzeler said: 'No, otherwise we would have won it. 'I think we defended really well, 96 minutes, and then there was one corner. 'I think it's not the corner, it's more the throw before and then the consequence after the throw in the corner. Latest from Albion.. ALBION 1 FULHAM 1: Seagulls concede in stoppage-time after O'Riley penalty 'I think that was the only shot they had during the game. I think that's something we have to do better, but overall I'm pleased with the performance. 'Of course, the team will get judged by the results, but we really should focus on the performance. 'We did so many things, caught so many positive things, and that's my main focus for the following week. 'Then I'm sure the results will come.'

Richarlison brace helps Tottenham win season opener against Burnley
Richarlison netted a brace, including a superb scissor kick, as Thomas Frank picked up a first Premier League win in charge of Tottenham with a 3-0 victory over Burnley. Frank was without injured pair James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, but Richarlison's double helped Spurs secure a first league win since April 6. Mohammed Kudus twice set up Richarlison for his goals, firstly in the 10th minute before he supplied a cross which the latter volleyed in on the hour mark. Brennan Johnson added another six minutes later to wrap up the win for Tottenham on a tough top-flight return for Burnley boss Scott Parker at his old club. Newcastle missed the presence of Alexander Isak as they shared the spoils in a goalless draw with 10-man Aston Villa. Isak was left out by boss Eddie Howe as the Sweden international tries to force a move away from St James' Park this summer. But the Magpies could have done with their star man as they failed to find a way past Villa, who had Ezri Konsa sent off in the 66th minute. Sunderland marked their return to the Premier League in style after they swept West Ham aside with a 3-0 win at the Stadium of Light. Following an eight-year absence from the league, the Black Cats went ahead just after the hour mark through Eliezer Mayenda before Dan Ballard's header doubled their advantage. Substitute Wilson Isidor came off the bench and put the cherry on top of a perfect afternoon to wrap up three points in Sunderland's first Premier League appearance since May 2017. Rodrigo Muniz struck deep into stoppage time as Fulham snatched a 1-1 draw from under the nose of Brighton at the Amex Stadium. Brazilian forward Muniz pounced six minutes into added time after Brighton failed to deal with Harry Wilson's corner. Albion had looked on course to make a winning start to the season when Matt O'Riley tucked home a 55th-minute penalty after Sander Berge brought down Georginio Rutter.
