The victim got into the suspect's car voluntarily in the Coopers Crossing neighbourhood in Airdrie so the others could record the interaction. That is when the suspect drove away.
The victim was able to escape the vehicle when it stopped at a red light, then called 911. RCMP attempted a traffic stop after locating the vehicle, but the suspect fled. The suspect was later arrested at a residence in northeast Calgary with the help of the Calgary Police Service and HAWKS.
A 37-year-old man is in custody facing multiple charges, including abduction of a person under 14, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, kidnapping and forcible confinement.

Poilievre calls for terror listing of India-based Lawrence Bishnoi gang
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is the latest politician calling for the federal government to designate the India-based Lawrence Bishnoi gang as a terrorist entity. His call on a visit to Surrey, B.C., comes after RCMP in the city announced last month they had made two arrests in an investigation into extortion targeting the South Asian business community. Police have linked some extortion cases back to the gang, whose leader Lawrence Bishnoi is in prison in India. Poilievre says a terror designation will be part of a tough-on-crime push the Conservatives will make during the fall session of Parliament. 5:32 Growing calls to label Bishnoi gang a terrorist group He says the move would help police and prosecutors deal with an international extortion group that's been active in Surrey as well as cities including Calgary and Brampton, Ont. Montreal teen facing terrorism-related charges, RCMP say
A Montreal teenager is facing terrorism-related charges after a months-long investigation revealed he was allegedly planning an attack on behalf of the Islamic State, according to the RCMP. The minor was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment building on Kent Avenue in Montreal's Côte-des-Neiges borough, RCMP Cpl. Erique Gasse said in a phone interview. He said about 40 officers were involved in the arrest, which was carried out without incident. "The investigation showed that he was taking various steps to carry out at least one attack on behalf of the Islamic State," Gasse said. "We know that he had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State." According to an RCMP news release, the suspect published threatening comments on social media. Gasse could not say which platform was used, but noted the threats targeted "various groups of people." He did not specify which groups. The suspect cannot be named because he is underage. He is facing charges that include: Providing, making available, etc., property or services for terrorist purposes. Participation in the activity of a terrorist group. Facilitating terrorist activity. The teen is scheduled to appear Thursday before the Youth Division of the Court of Quebec. Gasse could not provide the suspect's age. Gasse said the investigation began in April and revealed the suspect was trying to obtain a firearm. Specifically, he said the suspect was seeking a long rifle-style gun. Gasse said the public was not at risk, nor were police officers during the investigation. Gasse said the RCMP is always watching social media, and sometimes tips come in from partners or citizens. He encourages people to report suspicious posts or conversations to the police.
