Kick off times for next Springbok Tests as one more game added
After three convincing wins over Italy (twice) and Georgia to start the Test season, the Springboks are set to have at least 10 more fixtures to look forward to this year.
However, it's well know that SA Rugby were looking to add at least one more fixture to the team's schedule as Rassie Erasmus has made it clear that the more game time the better this season.
According to SARugbymag.co.za , the Springboks are now set to face Japan in Brighton on 1 November in what will effectively serve as a 'warm-up' to the end-of-year tour. REMINDER OF THE REMAINING SPRINGBOK SCHEDULE FOR 2025: 16 August: vs Australia, Ellis Park, Johannesburg. Kick off: 17:10 .
. 23 August: vs Australia, DHL Stadium, Cape Town. Kick off: 17:10 .
. 6 September: vs New Zealand, Auckland. Kick off: 09:05 .
. 13 September: vs New Zealand, Wellington. Kick off: 09:05 .
. 27 September: vs Argentina, Kings Park, Durban. Kick off: 17:10 .
. 4 October: vs Argentina, London. Kick off: 15:00 .
. 1 November: vs Japan, Brightin. Kick off: TBD.
8 November: vs France, Paris. Kick off: 22:10.
15 November: vs Italy, Turin. Kick off: 14:40
22 November: vs Ireland, Dublin. Kick off: 19:40.
29 November: vs Wales, Cardiff. Kick off: 17:10.
The game against Japan is certainly one of those games where Erasmus would be able to hand out some debuts and select an experimental side to continue expanding the squad.
'This will be a tough season for us in terms of Tests, just looking at our draw,' Rassie Erasmus commented earlier this year. 'We had a tough 2022, but now having 14 ir 15 matches, I think it is only the second time in history that we have it.
'I think 2007 had 17 matches. It will be the first one in a long time, but we need them.'

Carlos Spencer tips Boks as clear favourites for Rugby Championship
As the dust settles on the global midyear Test window, rugby fans shift their focus to the 2025 Rugby Championship and former All Blacks flyhalf Carlos Spencer believes there's one clear favourite heading into the tournament: South Africa. The four southern hemisphere giants go into the championship with varied preparations after a series of incoming Tests. Spencer weighed in on each side's recent performances and the road ahead. Argentina: unpredictable but unpolished Los Pumas stunned the rugby world by beating a new-look British and Irish Lions team 28-24 in Dublin, marking a historic win on northern soil. However, they followed that up with a 2-0 series defeat at home to a weakened England, raising concerns about consistency. 'You never know with Argentina,' Spencer said. 'They're like the French from 10 or 15 years ago. On their day, they can beat anyone, but they'll struggle away from home.' Australia: building but dangerous The Wallabies were centre stage during the Lions tour of Australia, which they narrowly lost 2-1. Under outgoing coach Joe Schmidt, the Aussies showed serious fight, particularly in their dominant third Test win. Now, with Les Kiss preparing to take over as coach they seem poised for a resurgence. 'The Wallabies looked sharp, especially in the past two Tests [against the B&I Lions],' Spencer said. 'Their prep coming into the Rugby Championship has been solid. They'll be dangerous.'

Ruchè Moodley heads back to Spain after second crash of season
Ruche Moodley is the sole South African racer currently competing in the Moto3 world championship. The 18-year-old missed round six of the 2025 schedule as he was recovering from a crash in which he fractured the radius in his right arm. Around six weeks ago, South African Moto3 rider Ruchè Moodley suffered his second crash of the season, only this time it was more gruesome to watch, especially if you're a family member or close associate. The teenager went down in the opening lap and was hit by riders behind him, suffering a fractured shoulder and hurting his right hand again. Social media posts from his hospital bed in Barcelona was a way of communicating with the public for a while but then the Red Bull Born Racers on Moodley dropped. For the first time, the world of Moto3 got an insight into his life and also heard from Moodley and parents about a horrific crash when he was 11. He crashed into a tree at high speed and sustained extensive injuries. His mother Chanelle and father Arushen were highly emotional when asked to recall the events surrounding that crash. One can only assume that similar thoughts and feelings went through them this year after watching their son crash out twice with injuries. The teenager has showed no signs of slowing down though, and two days ago, announced on social media that he was unofficially back in training. "Enjoying the process, getting ready for the rest of the season. The work doesn't stop!" Moodley wrote two days ago from his home province in the Eastern cape.

The world champions wrapped up their conditioning camp on Thursday as they continue to lay the foundation for the Rugby Championship starting next weekend against Australia at Ellis Park. Loose forward Bathobele Hlekani, winger Cheswill Jooste and Haashim Pead experienced a Bok setup for the first time after being invited by Erasmus to train with the Boks after their exploits at the World Rugby U20 Championship, where they won the title for the first time in 13 years. Rassie Erasmus on the three #JuniorBoks that trained with the #Springboks: 'It was impressive to see their enthusiasm and the way they grabbed the opportunity with both hands' 💚💛#ForeverGreenForeverGold — Springboks (@Springboks) August 7, 2025 Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ 'We were very pleased with the way they slotted into the training sessions and used the time to interact with the Springbok players and learn from them, even though we made it clear that there was no pressure on them to grasp all our structures and systems,' Erasmus said after the camp. 'It was rather an opportunity for them to experience how we operate in the team and to expose them to what is required to perform at this level, and they certainly embraced the opportunity. It was good to see how they took the time to understand our structures and how they used this chance to engage with the players on a one-on-one basis. 'They all have bright futures, and we hope the experience they gained and the lessons learned will set them in good standing, as they look to further develop their careers and strive to reach this level in the coming years.' Listen to Felix getting involved 😤🔊 Getting the ball off Bathobele Hlekani is no simple task 😂👇#SSRugby — SuperSport Rugby (@SSRugby) July 31, 2025 Pead grabbed the eye at the U20 with his explosive performances behind the pack. Jooste impressed with his silky side-stepping and the pace with which he beat multiple defenders. Hlekani's physical presence gave the Baby Boks impetus on the defence and when the forwards carried the ball up into contact. In a clip from the recent Bok camp training, he showed his power by fighting off multiple World Cup winners and his junior colleagues when they tried to take the ball from him in a simulated contact session. Jooste, who played SA U18 last year, described it as an incredible experience. 'It was particularly memorable for me to be inspired and motivated by the players I look up to and who are already where I'd like to be. They didn't only share their knowledge, but also their energy and spirit of unity.'
