Hugh Jackman Had This Extremely Uncommon Job Before Becoming An Actor

Yahoo13-02-2025

Whether you fall on the superhero side of his fandom or, like me, you live for his musical theatre credentials, it's fair to say that Hugh Jackman is a man with RANGE.
From playing Wolverine for the past twenty years, to starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in gritty drama Prisoners, to charming audiences worldwide in his The Greatest Showman role, he seems to be able to apply his acting skills to quite literally anything.
Apart from, it turns out, working as a birthday clown.
Speaking on Hot Ones, the Deadpool & Wolverine star revealed that before he became famous, he actually worked as a birthday clown with a pal of his.
'I literally rented a clown outfit, and me and this guy Stan, we went for birthday parties, and we had no skills. Literally no skills,' Hugh confessed.
His co-star and friend Ryan Reynolds jokingly chimed in with: 'So they robbed people, and that's how they did it. They robbed everyone.'
Hugh shared an anecdote to further his point that he was emphatically not cut out for this job, saying: 'I broke my rule and I did an eight year old party. I always knew that they were gonna find me out. And he found me out,' he said.
'And this kid yelled to his mom, 'Mom, this clown is crap.' I was like, 'Shut up kid, shut up kid.' '
Desperate to impress these decidedly underwhelmed children, Hugh then started trying to amuse them with eggs. 'I just reached in. I grabbed eggs. I'm like, 'Yeah, what about that?' I just cracked it on my head.
'I just kept cracking and then they just jumped on top of me, and that's it. 50 bucks. Not worth it.'
Doesn't sound worth it, tbh.

Deborra-Lee Furness files to divorce Hugh Jackman 2 years after split

Hugh Jackman's estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, filed for divorce in New York, nearly two years after the pair announced they were ending their 27-year marriage. Furness, 69, filed for divorce on Friday in Suffolk County Supreme Court, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The outlet reports the divorce will be finalized once the judge signs off on the complaint and other documents Furness submitted — filings regarding continuing health care coverage, a medical child support order, the New York State child support registry form, the exes' settlement deal, a proposed judgement of divorce and official certificate of dissolution. The 'Deadpool & Wolverine' star and award-winning 'Shame' actress met in 1995, working on the Australian miniseries 'Correlli,' and married the following year. They later adopted son Oscar and daughter Ava, now 25 and 19 respectively. In September 2023, the couple announced their separation in a joint statement to People. 'We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,' the actors said at the time. 'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. … We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.' Jackman sparked romance rumors with his 'Music Man' co-star Sutton Foster as far back as 2022, though the Broadway stars only confirmed their relationship earlier this year. Furness' filing comes seven months after 50-year-old Foster filed to divorce screenwriter Ted Griffin in October, after a decade of marriage. The exes share daughter Emily, whom they also welcomed via adoption. Prior to Griffin, Foster was married to fellow Broadway veteran Christian Borle, who, like Jackman and the 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' actress, has won two Tony Awards. ___ © 2025 New York Daily News. King Princess Debuts New Single ‘RIP KP' on ‘Colbert'

All hail the king. King Princess appeared on The Late Show to showcase her new single, 'RIP KP.' The evocative track is the first listen from the musician's forthcoming third album, Girl Violence, out Sept. 12. Performing with her live band, King Princess, a.k.a. Mikaela Straus, offered an impassioned rendition of the song, which included a rollicking guitar solo and borderline NSFW cherry artwork. An official music video for the track will arrive later today. More from Rolling Stone Hugh Jackman and King Princess Cover 'I Got You Babe' at Radio City Hear King Princess Cover Steely Dan's 'Dirty Work' King Princess, Descendent of Couple Who Died on Titanic, Weighs in On Titan Sub Disaster ''RIP KP' is about the sexy side of girl violence – when love takes over your brain like a cordyceps and suddenly you're getting fucked all over your house, acting a fool,' King Princess shared in a statement. 'It's the perfect way to open the record: dramatic, unhinged, and a little tongue-in-cheek. I wrote it during a full ego death – leaving LA, my label, my old life – and somehow landed back in NYC making the music I would've obsessed over at 15. It's a slutty anthem for the lesbians. We need debauchery this summer.' Speaking about Girl Violence, she added: 'Girl violence is very sneaky. It's not physical, it's deeply emotional, spiritual, and spooky. Women are both amazing and sinister—including myself—and it's my curiosity to understand all the love, loss, and changes that come out of my love for women. Why are we so inclined to cause and receive chaos? If you've experienced even an iota of it, then you'll have a story to tell. And these are mine.' King Princess describes the album as 'a celebration of the craziness of femininity, in awe and admiration of the derangement,' which is fittingly connected to her move from Los Angeles to Brooklyn. 'I was not loving life, I didn't feel grounded at all. I realized my feet were dangling for years,' she said. 'Once I was back in the arms of the city I love, I started to feel easier and lighter about hard decisions that were actually in my best interest.' Girl Violence is a follow-up to 2022's Hold on Baby, King Princess' acclaimed sophomore effort. The album included bombastic single 'Let Us Die,' a collaboration with late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. 'Taylor wasn't only down to play on the song, but he was also the most encouraging and wonderful presence during that session,' the musician told fans. 'I started sobbing at one point and Mark couldn't stop smiling. I have never felt so lucky. Taylor made this song what it is, and I can't wait for you to hear it.' Since the release of Hold on Baby, King Princess has been pursuing an acting career alongside making her new album. She is part of the cast of the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers, airing now on Hulu, and she will star in Song Sung Blue alongside Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson later this year. 'You know when you're a little kid and you're doing plays in the mirror?' King Princess recently explained of acting in a conversation for Interview. 'All of a sudden, I felt like that again. I love music, but it's a bit different. A lot rides on you. In acting, you're part of a huge machine working to make this piece of art. It can be really freeing, I think.' She added, 'Music has been my North Star since I was a little kid—I always knew I was going to be a musician. With anything that becomes monetized, it goes from being something you do for passion in your bedroom to something that you're now trying to one-up yourself in how successful or profitable it could be. I became victim to the age-old thing at some point where I was like, 'This isn't fun anymore.' That's when the acting thing came about, god bless.'
