Pitch Perfect star Anna Camp confirms she's dating a woman after Skylar Astin divorce

News.com.au14-05-2025

Nearly six years after her divorce from Skylar Astin, Anna Camp has a pitch perfect partner.
The You star soft-launched her relationship with on-set stylist Jade Whipkey via her Instagram Stories on Tuesday.
In the image reposted from Whipkey's Instagram Stories, Camp could be seen sitting at an outdoor restaurant table with her blonde hair hanging over her shoulder as she looked into the distance.
A candle on the table lit up two champagne glasses in the romantic date-night scene.
'Her smile is a poem, her eyes are roses, her laugh is music for dancing,' Whipkey wrote over the photo.
According to Out, the Pitch Perfect actress took to her Instagram Stories earlier this month to share a similar photo of Whipkey sipping a glass of wine during sunset. She captioned it with the words 'date night' and added two red rose emojis.
Whipkey and Camp previously spoke about their romance in a now-resurfaced TikTok initially shared in February.
In the clip, the couple answered questions about their worst dates during an interview.
'I left a date once because a guy was like 45 minutes late and I stayed and waited,' Camp divulged.
'Then he said that I was prettier in a movie than I was in person, because I'm an actor, and I was like, 'OK, bye.''
Camp then turned to Whipkey and affectionately asked, 'What about you, babe?'
'I think it was the only date I ever went on with a boy,' Whipkey replied in part. 'And he kept calling me 'f**ker' the whole time.'
The duo giggled, and when asked what they 'expect' from a first date with a man, Camp had a pithy response.
'I don't expect anything,' she said while motioning to Whipkey. 'Not anymore because I'm dating a woman, and it's great.'
Whipkey concurred, laughing, 'Same, same.'
A rep for Camp didn't immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment.
Camp, 42, and her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin, 37, became engaged in January 2016 and got married that September.
However, the union was short-lived — they separated in April 2019, with Camp filing to officially end the marriage.
'We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably,' Camp's rep told Page Six at the time.
'We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition.'
The former couple met on the set of the hit musical movie and dated for three years before tying the knot.
The actress was most recently linked to drummer Michael Johnson, with whom she was spotted in 2020.
'In the middle of nowhere with no one I'd rather be with,' she captioned a snap with the musician in Joshua Tree, California.
Camp is set to reunite with Pitch Perfect co-star Rebel Wilson in the film Bride Hard, which will be released in June.

Sophia Bush details harrowing abuse on the set of huge US show that lasted years

Sophia Bush allegedly suffered 'every kind' of abuse from an older man while working on her dream show. 'I had a workplace ongoing trauma revolving around an unending situation with someone old enough to be my father,' Bush said in Tuesday's episode of the Reclaiming With Monica Lewinsky podcast. The actress said the show was on her 'bucket list,' and while she didn't name the title, Bush confirmed that it was a series she signed onto after starring in One Tree Hill from 2003 to 2012. Bush, 42, notably portrayed Erin Lindsay in Chicago P.D. from 2014 to 2017 — leaving after Season 4 due to its alleged toxic work environment. When Lewinsky asked Bush, who has previously discussed being 'miserable' on the set, if she experienced something 'emotionally abusive' on set, Bush described it as 'every kind of abusive.' 'I did the thing I learned to do and said, 'I will not have my integrity diminished by someone else's behaviour. I will be unflappable. I will come to work and do my job.' And I couldn't,' she said. Bush described the last two years on the show as a 'physical hell' before she ended her run on the series. She allegedly suffered horrific symptoms from the stress of the situation, getting a 'spontaneous illness,' waking up 'covered in hives,' having 'really crazy weight fluctuation' and even losing her hair.' Additionally, Bush couldn't sleep due to her 'crippling anxiety.' 'To be hit with anxiety in such a way that I could barely be out of the house. If people touched me in public, I would jump out of my skin,' Bush recalled. 'I couldn't talk to people anymore. I couldn't talk to strangers anymore. I couldn't be looked at anymore.' Bush, comparing the trauma to a 'physical attack,' said she could no longer self-regulate and felt that her body was not her own. 'Because I had to go to work ready for war all the time, I had to learn where to stand to not get elbowed in the ribs or how to block a scene to not be touched. It was just exhausting,' she claimed. Bush said she was 'finally' able to exit the police drama in April 2017 – just three months before the #MeToo movement rocked Hollywood. 'By October [2017], I got a call from an executive apologising for what they'd done and not done,' she claimed. 'And [they] said, 'We're very aware we just made it out of that unscathed.'' Bush continued, 'I was like, 'Glad you did, I'm in so much therapy. I've been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder, but I'm thrilled you guys didn't get dragged through the press.'' The TV star admitted that it was a 'weird thing to deal with.' While Bush initially left the show without giving a reason, she later admitted to 'drowning' on set of the NBC show in a December 2017 interview. The following year she shared on The Armchair Expert podcast that she 'felt so ignored' during her stint on the series. 'I feel like I was standing butt naked, bruised and bleeding in the middle of Times Square, screaming at the top of my lungs and not a single person stopped to ask if they could help me,' she said at the time. KISS fans underwhelmed by Nick Jonas biopic casting

The singer has signed on to play frontman Paul Stanley in the KISS movie, Shout It Out Loud, set to be directed by Charlie's Angels and Transformers director, McG. However fans of the glam-rock group were quick to express confusion and in some cases unhappiness over the appointment of Nick, 32, believing his clean-cut image clashed with the rock and roll aesthetic. "This casting just assures I will never watch this," one person commented on a Reddit post about the casting news, while another simply added, "Oh f**k no" and a third wrote, "Absolutely not, that's awful".

Jessie J 'so grateful for the love and support' after breast cancer diagnosis

Jessie J has thanked her fans for their outpouring of "love and support" following her breast cancer diagnosis. The 37-year-old pop star went public with her health issues earlier this week revealing she is battling an "early" form of the disease and is currently undergoing tests before surgery later in the year - and she now has expressed her gratitude to everyone who has reached out to her since she explained her situation. In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "So grateful for all the love and support and kindness from everyone who has reached out to me in the last two days." Jessie - who is mother to two-year-old son Sky with basketball star Chanan Colman - previously revealed she was given the diagnosis prior to the release of her single, 'New Secrets' on April 25 and she has been "in and out of tests" since. She said in an Instagram video: "Before 'No Secrets' came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word 'early'. "Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding onto the word early. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period." Jessie went "back and forth" with herself about whether she should share her news, due to there being "lots of opinions outside". However, the 'Who You Are' singer felt she should tell all, particularly because of the name of her latest single, 'No Secrets', which was inspired by a miscarriage she had in 2021. She said: "To get diagnosed with this, as I'm putting out a song called 'No Secrets' right before a song called 'Living My Best Life,' which was all pre-planned before I found out about this, I mean you can't make it up. "I just wanted to be open and share it - one, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. "I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me, with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. "I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much, similar and worse. That's the bit that kills me." Jessie is still planning to perform at this year's Capital Summertime Ball on June 15 at London's Wembley Stadium, but afterwards she will undergo surgery and "disappear for a bit". She said: "It wasn't something I'd planned, but yeah. I'm getting to keep my nipples, that's good. It's a weird topic and a weird situation. "I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive t*ts and more music." The 'Price Tag' hitmaker joked: "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job."
