Kim Soo Hyun
has found himself at the centre of another scandal. As the dating scandal case between him and late actress Kim Sae Ron gained traction, a lot of companies cancelled their contracts with Soo Hyun. Not only that, many even sued the 'It's Okay To Not Be Okay' actor for damages caused by the case. One such cosmetic company applied to seize the actor's estate. The request was officially granted by a court recently.
Kim Soo Hyun's property seized by a cosmetic company, worth millions of USD
It was reported by ChosunBiz on June 11 that a popular cosmetic tools company had seized the actor's property. The request itself was filed on May 8 and was approved soon after by the Seoul Eastern District Court on May 20.
Kim Soo Hyun's representative issues a statement
The news was then confirmed by Bang Sung Hoon, legal representative of Kim Soo Hyun. The actor's side, however, called out the seizure and called it unlawful. As per reports from Koreaboo, they issued their statement that 'However, this seizure is unfair. Kim Soo Hyun is a victim of
HOVERLAB
. Although the issues lie with the assailants, the arrows are being pointed toward the victim simply because contractual obligations were not met.'
The legal representative continued, stating that "From the perspective of the advertiser, they paid a model but cannot use the model for advertisement purposes, resulting in financial losses. This is undeniable. But who triggered this situation? It was HOVERLAB. If we can prove through the court proceedings that HOVERLAB made false claims, then Kim Soo Hyun's reputation will be restored and the advertisers will no longer have reason to pursue compensation for damages."
About Kim Soo Hyun's property
The actor owns 3 different apartment units in Galleria Forêt, one of the most sought-after and expensive complexes in the country. Only one of the three units has been seized by the cosmetic tool company.
The property costs approximately 3 billion KRW, which amounts to around 2.2 million USD. The company had earlier claimed that the seizure request was made due to the fact that the actor had been unable to pay penalties and damage fees to the company after a contract breach.
On the other hand, Kim Soo Hyun has also filed for seizure of real estate owned by HoverLab CEO
Kim Se Eui
. The YouTuber's assets were seized by the actor and cost approximately 12 billion KRW.

The offender who posted derogatory content against the virtual group PLAVE was fined; told to pay 100,000 KRW to each member. Find out more

An individual who shared degrading comments online on social media platforms against the virtual boy group PLAVE has been instructed by the court to pay a hefty amount for the damages that they caused due to the comments. Court rules in favour of PLAVE, malicious content poster to pay hefty fine In the court ruling last month, according to Allkpop, Judge Jang Yoo Jin of the Uijeongbu District Court fined the person who had shared malicious content against PLAVE with a hefty fine. He stated in court that the fine was viable as "The use of avatars in the age of the metaverse may be considered another means for users of technology to express themselves and communicate with others. In that sense, insulting the avatars may be seen as equivalent to insulting the actual user behind the avatar. " The judge ruled in the hearing that every member of the group is going to be paid 100,000 KRW each by the offender as a damages fee. What happened? The offender, who has not been named, took to their social media accounts and shared derogatory and malicious content against the members of the virtual boy group as well as the people behind these avatars. The incident occurred in July last year, and since then, the agency of the boy group has filed a lawsuit against the offender. At the time of the first court hearing, the offender made their statement by saying that the comments were not targeted towards real people and could not be used for prosecution against them. They shared that the comments "were not directed at the real-life individuals behind the virtual characters; therefore, they cannot be considered accounts of offence." This claim, however, was dismissed and refuted by the judge, who stated in court that "An individual can still be offended even when their real names or any specific names referring to that individual or group are not used. Furthermore, if others can identify the individual based on context, it must be seen as an account of offence against that specific individual." The judge then put in his final concluding statement in the court hearing, stating that If the identity of the avatar user is widely known or public information, accounts of offence committed against the avatar must be seen as equivalent to accounts of offence committed against the real-life user. In the case of PLAVE, regardless of the agency's current stance or policies, the real-life identities of the members have become information readily available to the masses. When considering the fact that 'B' also committed the offenses in question with that information in mind, it must be concluded that 'B' specifically targeted the plaintiffs."

Kanye West shows support for Sean Diddy Combs amid ongoing sex-trafficking trial

Manhattan (New York) [US], June 14 (ANI): Kanye 'Ye' West made a brief appearance at the Manhattan federal courthouse on Friday morning in support of music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who is currently standing trial for allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering. According to The Hollywood Reporter, West arrived at the courthouse around 11:30 am dressed in a white denim jacket and sporting sunglasses, creating an immediate media frenzy. The rapper, who is known for his controversial public persona, spent roughly 40 minutes inside the courthouse, but did not enter the courtroom where Combs' trial is currently taking place. Instead, West was escorted to a separate overflow room where he watched the proceedings on closed-circuit television, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Though West's presence at the trial was widely noted, he did not answer questions when approached by reporters, including whether he planned to testify on behalf of Combs, according to The Hollywood Reporter. West's surprise appearance quickly sent waves through the courthouse, especially in the 24th-floor overflow room, where reporters and media personnel scrambled to capture any potential statements or sightings of the rapper. With the media surrounding the building, chaos ensued as some reporters even ventured through stairwells in search of the rapper, causing disruption throughout the courthouse. As lunchtime arrived, word spread quickly among those present that West had left the building. The crowd outside the courthouse began to thin out, with many reporters hoping for a return from the rapper in time for the afternoon session. However, West did not make any further appearances and left the courthouse without answering additional questions from the press, as per The Hollywood Reporter. This visit marks the latest display of support from Kanye West for Combs, with the two maintaining a long-standing relationship. West, who has been a polarising figure in the media due to his controversial statements, previously voiced his backing for Combs during the ongoing trial. TMZ reported that West greeted Combs' son, Christian Combs, with a handshake when he arrived at the courthouse, a moment captured by cameras. Despite his own controversial history, which has included an array of hateful and antisemitic remarks that have drawn widespread condemnation, West has remained a steadfast supporter of Combs. Combs' trial, which is now entering its fifth week, has become one of the most high-profile criminal cases. The music mogul is facing multiple charges, including accusations of abuse and sex trafficking, with dozens of witnesses providing testimony in the case. One of the key moments in the trial came last November, when Combs' ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him, detailing several claims of abuse and harassment. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Ventura, who later settled her lawsuit for USD 20 million, testified during the trial, giving a firsthand account of her experiences as a victim of Combs' alleged actions. Other key figures have also been involved in the trial, including fellow rapper Kid Cudi, who provided testimony regarding Combs' behaviour.(ANI)

Kim Soo Hyun's legal storm: Brand deals collapse; multimillion-dollar asset seizures follow

Kim Soo Hyun Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun is currently embroiled in a series of legal disputes and financial challenges after becoming the target of lawsuits and asset seizures initiated by former brand partners. The controversy stems from public backlash linked to his alleged association with the late actress Kim Sae Ron, which has significantly affected his brand image. Cuckoo Electronics , a subsidiary of the Cuckoo Holdings Group known for its home appliances, has been one of the most prominent companies to take action. The actor had served as the face of their advertisements for over a decade. However, according to a report by Koreaboo, the brand's association with Kim deteriorated following the widespread negative attention. On April 24, 2025, the company filed a court petition to seize assets worth KRW 100 million (approximately USD 73,500), which included Kim's bank accounts and financial holdings. The Seoul Eastern District Court approved this request on May 20. Companies demand compensation for damaged public image Just days after the asset seizure request, on May 2, Cuckoo Electronics filed an additional lawsuit demanding KRW 850 million (around USD 625,000) in damages. The legal action also involved Cuckoo Homesys and other affiliated entities. Together, they filed a consolidated suit against both Kim Soo Hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist, seeking a combined compensation of over KRW 2.00 billion (approximately USD 1.47 million). by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villa For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas in Dubai | Search ads Learn More Undo Adding to Kim's mounting legal troubles, it was revealed that Classys, a company specializing in medical aesthetics devices, initiated a separate action earlier in the month. On May 8, the company placed a seizure on Kim's residence in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, valued at KRW 3.00 billion (about USD 2.21 million), intensifying the financial strain. As the actor continues to face legal scrutiny and growing pressure from former endorsement partners, his once-stronghold in advertising and brand endorsements has taken a significant hit.
