Kim Soo Hyun's apartment worth 2.2 million USD seized? Actor accused of not paying penalty charges
has found himself at the centre of another scandal. As the dating scandal case between him and late actress Kim Sae Ron gained traction, a lot of companies cancelled their contracts with Soo Hyun. Not only that, many even sued the 'It's Okay To Not Be Okay' actor for damages caused by the case. One such cosmetic company applied to seize the actor's estate. The request was officially granted by a court recently.
Kim Soo Hyun's property seized by a cosmetic company, worth millions of USD
It was reported by ChosunBiz on June 11 that a popular cosmetic tools company had seized the actor's property. The request itself was filed on May 8 and was approved soon after by the Seoul Eastern District Court on May 20.
Kim Soo Hyun's representative issues a statement
The news was then confirmed by Bang Sung Hoon, legal representative of Kim Soo Hyun. The actor's side, however, called out the seizure and called it unlawful. As per reports from Koreaboo, they issued their statement that 'However, this seizure is unfair. Kim Soo Hyun is a victim of
HOVERLAB
. Although the issues lie with the assailants, the arrows are being pointed toward the victim simply because contractual obligations were not met.'
The legal representative continued, stating that "From the perspective of the advertiser, they paid a model but cannot use the model for advertisement purposes, resulting in financial losses. This is undeniable. But who triggered this situation? It was HOVERLAB. If we can prove through the court proceedings that HOVERLAB made false claims, then Kim Soo Hyun's reputation will be restored and the advertisers will no longer have reason to pursue compensation for damages."
About Kim Soo Hyun's property
The actor owns 3 different apartment units in Galleria Forêt, one of the most sought-after and expensive complexes in the country. Only one of the three units has been seized by the cosmetic tool company.
The property costs approximately 3 billion KRW, which amounts to around 2.2 million USD. The company had earlier claimed that the seizure request was made due to the fact that the actor had been unable to pay penalties and damage fees to the company after a contract breach.
On the other hand, Kim Soo Hyun has also filed for seizure of real estate owned by HoverLab CEO
Kim Se Eui
. The YouTuber's assets were seized by the actor and cost approximately 12 billion KRW.

War 2 (Hindi) Day 2 Box Office: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer shows reasonable 60 percent growth on Independence holiday; Adds Rs 45 crore
War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani among others, grew by a reasonable 60 percent on day 2 in Hindi, to add Rs 45 crore net. The two day cume of the movie in Hindi stands at Rs 73 crore, keeping it on track for a Rs 130 crore net weekend. These aren't good numbers but they are decent nonetheless. The trend in the weekdays will be critical for the movie to end with net Hindi collections of over Rs 200 crore. War 2 Adds Decent Rs 45 Crore Net On Independence Day Holiday In Hindi The true value Hindi day 2 of War 2 is around Rs 48 crore net. Due to preference of the Telugu version of the movie over the Hindi version, the collections in the Andhra states for the Hindi version are lower than what they would normally be. War 2's contribution from the Telugu version for the opening day was roughly Rs 20 crore net. The presence of Jr NTR propelled the movie to these numbers. The collections from the dubbed version have come down considerably on day 2 and that was pretty much expected, too. They are pegged at around Rs 10 crore net. The two day India net all language total is a little over Rs 100 crore. War 2's Andhra States Distributor Stands To Lose Big There should be some stability at low levels for the movie on Saturday and Sunday in Telugu. However, for the prices at which the rights of the movie in the Andhra states (all languages) were acquired for, the numbers being put up by the movie are simply not going to be enough. Renegotiations will have to happen, else the distributor will lose a fortune. War 2's Trajectory Indicates A Rs 250 - 300 Crore Net Finish (All Languages) The India net numbers of War 2 are likely to end in the Rs 250 - 300 crore net range unless the weekday drops are too crazy. The overseas numbers are not much to shout about either. A USD 7.5 million extended global weekend, including premieres is probably all that the movie will be able to manage. The hold over the weekdays will be critical if it really needs to hit USD 15 million in its full run. War 2 In Theatres War 2 plays in theatres now. Tickets for the movie can be booked from the box office or from online ticketing applications. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

South Korea: Ex-first lady's 'butler' attends arrest warrant hearing over embezzlement
Seoul: An associate of former first lady Kim Keon Hee appeared for a court hearing Friday for his arrest on charges of embezzlement as part of a special counsel probe targetting the former first lady. Kim Ye-seong, known as the "butler" of the former first lady's family, arrived at the Seoul Central District Court in southern Seoul nearly two hours before the hearing scheduled at 2 pm, Yonhap News Agency reported. Kim is accused of embezzling 3.38 billion won (USD 2.43 million) from IMS Mobility, a company he helped establish, in 2023. The court is expected to announce its decision on whether to issue the warrant later in the day or early Saturday. A special counsel team requested the arrest warrant Thursday, two days after he was detained by investigators upon returning from Vietnam in what they believe was an attempt to flee following the ouster of former President Yoon Suk Yeol, Kim Keon Hee's husband. Kim Ye-seong is suspected of receiving 18.4 billion won in illegal investments from several companies, including Kakao Mobility Corp., for IMS Mobility. Considering that IMS Mobility was effectively in a state of capital impairment at the time of the investments, the special prosecutors suspect the companies invested in IMS Mobility in consideration of its connection to Kim and the former first lady. The special counsel team is also looking into whether the embezzled funds or related profits were funneled to the former first lady's family. Kim has denied any wrongdoing and described the special counsel's investigation as a "witch hunt." He has been closely associated with the former first lady for over a decade and is believed to have extensive knowledge of the family's financial matters. Earlier on Thursday, South Korea's jailed former first lady Kim Keon Hee appeared at a special counsel's office on Thursday to undergo questioning for the first time since her arrest earlier this week over corruption charges. Kim was brought to special counsel Min Joong-ki's office in central Seoul in a prison van after departing Seoul Southern Detention Centre in handcuffs, according to correctional authorities. She was hidden from public view as the van used the underground parking route. The wife of former President Yoon Suk Yeol was placed in custody at the detention center in southwestern Seoul on Wednesday after a court issued a warrant to arrest her on charges of involvement in a stock manipulation scheme, meddling in candidate nominations for the 2022 parliamentary by-elections and 2024 general elections, and receiving luxury gifts from the Unification Church through a shaman in exchange for business favours.
