Tammy Hembrow's half-brother walks free after choking and stalking ex-girlfriend
The half-brother of Australian fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow has been sentenced over a violent domestic assault but he walked free from court.
Henri Thynne, 21, left his ex-girlfriend fearing for her life after elbowing her in the head during an argument, a Brisbane District Court heard on Thursday.

When she messaged a friend for help to leave, Thynne became enraged, the court was told.
He grabbed her by the throat and screamed at her, 'You're not leaving, you're not going anywhere, I own you.'
The woman told the court she thought she was going to die.
Thynne eventually let go, but the attack continued.
When she checked her phone again, he grabbed her a second time, slammed her head into a bed five to six times, and began strangling her.
In the following three months, Thynne stalked the woman, sending her several hundred messages, the court heard.
In a victim impact statement, she told the court the attack had changed her life.
She now struggles to sleep and can no longer enjoy the things she used to love.
Her mother also addressed the court, saying their entire family live in fear because of what happened.
Thynne pleaded guilty to choking his former partner.
His sentence also included an unrelated road rage incident.
He was handed three years in jail but was released on parole today after serving time in custody.

Baby injured in fire extinguisher attack
Police have released CCTV in a bid to identify those who may be able to assist with the investigation, after the fire extinguisher was stolen, and then discharged into the car. Police are investigating after reports a fire extinguisher was sprayed into a car, injuring a baby girl. Police have released CCTV footage of two people on an e-bike after the fire extinguisher was stolen, and then allegedly discharged into the car at Slippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, June 15. The stolen extinguisher was reportedly sprayed through the rear window of a silver Suzuki Vitara stopped at traffic lights on High Street around 7.50pm. The whole car was covered in white smoke and powder. A five-month-old girl was strapped into the baby seat of the car, being driven by her dad. Both suffered minor injuries in the attack. The dad struggled to breathe as he rushed to take his daughter from the car. She was later taken to hospital and treated for dry skin, rash and bloodshot eyes. The fire extinguisher was stolen hours earlier from a carpark on Courage Street, police confirmed. The baby's mother broke down, speaking to 7NEWS. 'Grow up, stop terrorising people, do good with your life,' she said. 'There's absolutely no need for this.' Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact police.

Killer learns fate over father's ‘depraved and monstrous murder'
A young man has been sentenced to life behind bars for what his own lawyer described as one of the most 'depraved and monstrous murders' one Australian state had ever seen. Alexander Mark Sutton killed former West Coast Eagles soft-tissue therapist Patrik Weiss, 45, at the latter's suburban home in Lockridge, Perth, in June 2023 after the strangers organised online to meet up for sex. Weiss, a father of two and coach of the Australian men's beach handball team, was struck twice to the head with a pickaxe, leaving him with a fractured skull. His body was discovered the next day by his ex-wife when he did not pick his children up from school. Sutton, then 19, had planned to kill and even wrote in a journal 'maybe I will eat a part of him as well', the court was told. Sutton's own lawyer told the court the brutal crime was one of the most 'depraved and monstrous murders' WA had ever seen. Sutton pleaded guilty to murder in January. On Thursday he was sentenced to life in prison and must serve 20 years before he will be eligible for parole. At the time of his death, Weiss had been preparing for the World Beach Games in Bali. 'This tragic news has shocked our community,' Handball Australia said in the wake of his murder. 'Patrik took a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction in developing the sport of beach handball, the growth of the players and building a positive team culture.'
