Dubai Community Development Authority Distributes Eidiya to 10,000 Children for Eid Al Adha

The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai has distributed Eidiya to 10,000 children, including orphans, from families supported by its services as part of a broader effort to foster social cohesion during Eid Al Adha. The initiative, held in partnership with the Endowments and Minors' Trust Foundation (AWQAF Dubai), aims to strengthen community bonds and uphold cultural traditions. Organised under the 'Eidiya' initiative, the gesture also supports the objectives of the 'Year of Community' in the UAE. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of CDA, said the initiative reflects the leadership's focus on placing people at the heart of development. 'The Eidiya is not just financial support; it's a heartfelt message meant to bring joy to children during these blessed days and to make them feel valued and cared for,' she said. She praised the role of AWQAF Dubai in supporting community-focused efforts, noting that collaboration between social development partners was key to the initiative's success. Eidiya, the traditional Eid gift of money given to children, is a long-standing cultural practice in the UAE. CDA's efforts aim not only to preserve this custom but also to ensure it reaches the most vulnerable groups in society. Buhumaid reaffirmed CDA's commitment to launching initiatives that meet the needs of families and contribute to a sustainable, inclusive community system. 'We aim to make the most of religious, national, and social occasions to highlight the value of each individual in society,' she added. News Source: Emirates News Agency
