Pensacola passengers can now take nonstop flight to Muscle Shoals: Airport
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Contour Airlines will now offer non-stop flights from Pensacola International Airport (PNS) to Northwest Alabama Regional Airport (MSL) in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

According to an airport news release, the flights will be offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning on March 22, 2025, and going through Aug. 2, 2025. Flights will cost $99 for a one-way trip.
The flight schedule is:
MSL-PNS | 12:50 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
PNS-MSL | 3 p.m. – 4:25 p.m.
'We are pleased to welcome Contour Airlines' new nonstop service to Muscle Shoals,' PNS Director Matt Coughlin said.
Destin High School considers 4-day week
Contour will be the ninth airline operating at PNS, according to the release.

Flights to Chicago O'Hare airport return to Greenbrier Valley Airport
LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) – A highly requested flight route made a touchdown at the Greenbrier Valley Airport on Monday evening, June 2nd, 2025. A single Contour airplane made a safe landing onto the airports runway. Passengers and crew from Chicago were welcomed with a water cannon salute by two airport firetrucks. Monroe County Hospital is considering creating a swing bed program
MONROE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Monroe County Health Care Authority, which operates Monroe County Hospital, is proposing a move that would create a swing bed program. UPDATE: Man charged with murder after Saenger shooting The Social Security Act allows small, rural hospitals to use some of their beds for skilled nursing facility beds. These allow patients to transition from acute care to a skilled nursing facility without leaving the hospital, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. In an application, the MCHCA said if approved, it would convert 10 acute-care beds to swing beds at the Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville. The proposed project would require a certificate of need and is estimated to cost $345,000, according to an MCHCA news release. According to the release, those interested in submitting a written statement or appearing before the Certificate of Need Review Board must do so by July 14, 2025, and provide a copy of the statements to Colin H.
