Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carrie-Anne Moss make magic in ‘Fubar' season 2

LOS ANGELES: Austrian and American actor Arnold Schwarzenegger had to admit that it took him a lot of practice to nail the tango scene with Canadian actor Carrie-Anne Moss for season 2 of the Netflix action-comedy series 'Fubar.'
'We practiced. We practiced a lot, and she didn't need as much practice as I did, but I really practiced,' the former California governor told Reuters.
The 'Terminator' actor recalled doing the first take for the dance scene and impressing everyone with how ready they were.
'They just thought we were rehearsing, but they did not know that we were that prepared for the whole thing,' Schwarzenegger said with a smile.
'Fubar' season 2, created by Nick Santora and produced by Skydance Television and Blackjack Films, premiered on Netflix last Thursday.
The story follows Luke Brunner, played by Schwarzenegger and his daughter Emma, played by Monica Barbaro, who are both CIA operatives.
Their fellow CIA team members include Barry Putt, played by Milan Carter, Boro Polonia, played by Gabriel Luna, Roo Russell, played by Fortune Feimster and Aldon Reese, portrayed by Travis Van Winkle.
In season 2, Brunner is back to working with his CIA team, but things take an unexpected turn when he encounters his ex-lover Greta Nelson, played by Carrie-Anne Moss.
Greta is a former East German spy who ends up going up against Brunner in both the tango and a tussling battle.
'Most of my scenes are with Arnold, so we developed this incredible friendship,' Carrie-Anne said.
Schwarzenegger humorously recalled the 'Matrix' actor bringing what he dubbed as 'secret oil' to the set and putting it behind his ears before shooting a scene.
'Peppermint oil. I'm a big peppermint oil or just essential oil person,' Carrie-Anne clarified.
'It was like some magic power because as soon as she smeared the stuff behind my ears, I mean it was like 'pum!' and we were kind of out of the gate doing our scenes in the most perfect way,' Schwarzenegger added.

Matthew Perry death doctor to plead guilty

The main doctor charged in connection with the drug overdose of American-Canadian actor and Friends star Matthew Perry is expected to enter a guilty plea in the coming weeks, the US Justice Department said on Monday. Salvador Plasencia "has agreed to plead guilty to four counts of distribution of ketamine, which carries a statutory maximum sentence of 40 years in federal prison," the department said in a statement. The second doctor in the case, Mark Chavez, pleaded guilty last October to conspiring to distribute ketamine in the weeks before the actor was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in 2023. Perry's lengthy struggles with substance addiction were well-documented, but his death at age 54 sent shockwaves through the global legions of Friends fans. A criminal investigation was launched soon after an autopsy discovered the actor had high levels of ketamine – an anesthetic – in his system. Plasencia allegedly bought ketamine off Chavez and sold it to the desperate star at hugely inflated prices. Jasveen Sangha, the alleged "Ketamine Queen" who supplied drugs to high-end clients and celebrities, is charged with selling Perry the dose that killed him. She has pleaded not guilty. Comedic television series Friends, which followed the lives of six New Yorkers navigating adulthood, dating and careers, drew a massive global following and made megastars of previously unknown actors. Perry's role as the sarcastic man-child Chandler brought him fabulous wealth, but hid a dark struggle with addiction to painkillers and alcohol. In 2018, he suffered a drug-related burst colon and underwent multiple surgeries. In his 2022 memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry described going through detox dozens of times. "I have mostly been sober since 2001," he wrote, "save for about sixty or seventy little mishaps."

‘GTA VI' delay weighs on global videogame market growth, data shows

The global videogame market's growth rate is expected to improve marginally in 2025 from the previous year, according to a report from research firm Newzoo, seen exclusively by Reuters on Tuesday. Analysts and industry experts had projected a surge in industry growth this year due to the expected blockbuster launch of Take-Two's 'Grand Theft Auto VI' and new consoles. However, the delay of the long-awaited title to next year and price hikes to videogame hardware, arising from tariffs, have made consumer spending uncertain. The global videogame market is projected to grow 3.4% to $188.9 billion in 2025, compared with last year's growth of 3.2%, according to the report. 'This forecast reflects concrete changes, hardware cycles, pricing trends, install base growth, and title pipelines,' said Michiel Buijsman, principle analyst at Newzoo. Take-Two Interactive delays 'Grand Theft Auto VI' release to May 26, 2026 Compounded annually, Newzoo expects the market to grow 3.3% till 2027, compared with its earlier forecast of 3.7%. As 'GTA VI' is scheduled to launch in 2026, the industry will most likely see the boost from sales next year along with the release of other premium titles such as Capcom's 'Resident Evil Requiem.' The launch of 'GTA VI' on PC is also expected to carry growth through 2027, the report said. Price increases to Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation devices have sparked fears of slower hardware sales as consumers globally grapple with market uncertainty, even as Nintendo's Switch 2 became the company's fastest-selling console. Xbox also unveiled its own handheld console, the Xbox Ally, earlier this month, developed in partnership with ASUS and set to launch in holidays 2025.
