Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Wedding Photographer Reveals the Palace's Warning to Guests: 'The World Can Lip Read'

Alexi Lubomirski, who took the official portraits at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement and wedding, shared the warning he received from Windsor Castle guards before entering the nuptials
He said he and other guests were told, "Ladies and gentlemen, please be careful what you are saying to each other because the world can lip read"
Lubomirski shared more behind-the-scenes details from the wedding and engagement, including his inspiration for photos and one of his favorite images of the couple
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding photographer is sharing some insight into their engagement and royal nuptials with a TikTok series timed to their anniversary.
Alexi Lubomirski, who took the official portraits for the couple's 2017 engagement and 2018 wedding, shared two videos on Monday, May 19, detailing his path to becoming Harry and Meghan's photographer. In the second TikTok, which included details of the wedding day photo shoot, Lubomirski revealed the warning he received before he and his wife entered Windsor Castle for Harry and Meghan's wedding.
That day, Lubomirski said, guards were stationed outside of the castle gates, where they greeted all guests with the message: "Ladies and gentlemen, please be careful what you are saying to each other because the world can lip read."
Lubomirski told his followers, "As you walk in, you see a lot of people sort of talking like this," with his hand covering his mouth. He added, "You don't know what you're talking about, but everyone on these cameras is watching and lip-reading."
Lubomirski was tasked with photographing Harry and Meghan, plus their families, in Windsor Castle after the wedding ceremony. He explained in his TikTok that he had asked Harry for tips about photographing his family and was told to be quick for Queen Elizabeth and King Charles, who had already sat through countless royal photo shoots over the years.
The photographer said he wanted to "break away" from the "stiff" feel of other royal group portraits, and instructed some family members to sit while others stood for the group photo. His secret weapon, however, was the British candy Smarties. After hearing a nanny telling children during the ceremony that they would be treated to candy if they behaved for the wedding, Lubomirski knew he'd get a smile out of the group if he mentioned Smarties during the shoot.
After the group photo, Lubomirski was able to capture the first moment when Harry and Meghan were alone and away from the crowds after the ceremony.
"There was this sense of relief and beauty and joy, and they just slumped on the stairs and I got this picture," he said, referring to a black-and-white image of Harry and Meghan from their wedding day.
Lubomirski went back to the very beginning with the first video in his TikTok series, which explained how he received a surprise phone call from Kensington Palace asking him to meet Harry and Meghan, after which he was officially asked to take their engagement photos.
He wanted to capture less formal images of Meghan and Harry, so he took some photos inside of Frogmore Cottage first to "loosen" up the couple, then moved outside into a "beautiful" November day for the rest of the photos.
Lubomirski said he was particularly inspired by a photo of Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer in which Hepburn is wrapped in her husband's coat, and he asked Harry and Meghan to take a similar photo — which eventually got "billions and billions of views," he said.
"There was this moment of laughter between them, and it was so beautiful," Lubomirski said, adding, "I was so excited to get that picture."

Meghan celebrated her seventh wedding anniversary on May 19 with a sweet post to Instagram marking key milestones in her relationship with Harry.
"Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories," she wrote in the caption of her post, which showed a bulletin board pinned with images of the couple, many of which had never been publicly shared.
She added, "Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story - we appreciate you. Happy anniversary!" along with a red heart emoji.
The couple first met in 2016 and got engaged in 2017 before marrying on May 19, 2018. They now live in California with their two children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

Clumsy Kitten Napping on Dad's Guitar Is the Definition of Cuteness Overload

We've all seen countless adorable videos of babies (both human and animal) sleeping, but have you ever seen one of a kitten napping on a guitar as dad plays and sings? TikToker Elgunnasibli has been posting videos of his tiny kitten doing just that, and it's the cutest thing you'll see today. The video is a montage of clips showing all the times his 'clumsy kitten' has slept so soundly on his guitar that he slips right off it! We can't get enough of the cuteness and could watch it on repeat all day! Swoon! What an adorable kitten! Now we need to learn to play the guitar and then get a kitten! Elgunnasibili's video has racked up millions of views and has more than a thousand loved it! @Abiska Aveely got more than 25 thousand likes when they said, "The fact that one day they'll be too big to do this is so sad!" @LazyPaws added, "He knows you're always gonna catch him. That's why. He trusts you with all his life." @Jus Samanka agreed, "The dad reflex is so real!"Commenter @julianyeen asked, "I wonder if the vibrations feel like purring, so they think you're purring at them?!" We thought that was a reasonable guess but wondered if cats really enjoy music. According to PBS, not human music. "Cats, in fact, do enjoy music, but they don't enjoy human music — at least according to new research. A study recently published in the journal Applied Animal Behavior Science believes that in order for our feline friends to enjoy music, it has to be species-specific music." Species-specific music? The article went on to explain what that means. It's music "that fits into how the animal communicates, writes University of Wisconsin psychologists and study authors Megan Savage and Charles Snowdon. 'We have developed a theoretical framework that hypothesizes that in order for music to be effective with other species, it must be in the frequency range and with similar tempos to those used in natural communication by each species.' Curious to hear what cat music sounds like? You can check it out here. Clumsy Kitten Napping on Dad's Guitar Is the Definition of Cuteness Overload first appeared on PetHelpful on May 22, 2025
