York Knights' trophy-winning celebrations captured in pictures
See the best pictures from York Knights' memorable 1895 Cup victory celebrations. (Image: Craig Hawkhead) IT was a day of celebration for York Knights at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. An incredible day for the club saw the Knights win at Wembley for the first time in their history, defeating Featherstone Rovers 5-4 in a dramatic fashion. Advertisement Liam Harris' drop goal after the end of normal time meant that York were able to win the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup for the first time in their history, with the celebrations going long into the night, before a return to York on Sunday. Back in York, the Knights paraded their trophy along the River Ouse on Sunday afternoon - with supporters gathering to cheer on the heroes that delivered silverware for the city. Photographer Craig Hawkhead was present at both the game and at the Sunday celebrations to capture the celebrations.
