Lala Kent Has Pre-Cancerous Spot on Her Eye, Needs Chemotherapy Drops

Yahoo15-05-2025
Lala Kent is being treated for a health scare.
Kent, 34, took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, May 14, to address the scary growth on her right eye.
'Alright, you guys, I have an update on the eye,' the Vanderpump Rules alum shared in a video message while holding her infant daughter Sosa. 'So I got a text with the doctor that I went and saw last night at 10:30 p.m. I'm so grateful. He said, 'The specialist can see you tomorrow at 9 a.m.' So I was there at 9 a.m., she looked at it, she said that it is pre-cancer and she said, 'I want to start you on chemotherapy drops.''
Kent added: 'Now I know that sounds terrifying. I cried obviously because … when you hear that word [cancer]. She said, 'I want you to do the chemo drops for three months. We're gonna do a week of them and go off for three weeks, and we're gonna do that for three months.' At that point in time, God willing, it kills all the cancerous cells. If it doesn't, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it and talk about surgery. So there's the update.'
Lala Kent Gives Update on 'Amicable' Coparenting Relationship With 'Baby Daddy' Randall Emmett
Earlier this week, Kent first revealed her eye condition via her Instagram Stories, zooming in on her eye, which has a small but noticeable pink protrusion near her pupil.
'I know I've showed you guys like a million times, but I've been obsessing over it,' she said in a tearful Tuesday, May 13 message. 'It started out I want to say maybe a month and a half, two months ago, where it was like the slightest bit of discoloration. I was like, 'This is so weird, like what is that?' Like, a week and a half ago' it 'started to look like a blister to me.'
She saw a doctor that day and a biopsy was ordered. On Tuesday night, Kent posted another Instagram Story, this time from her bed where she shared her anxiety.
'I'll have friends come to me and they're going through a health situation and I'm like, 'It's gonna be fine. You'll be good. Like, we're gonna figure it out. We'll cross bridges when we get to them.' Then when you're placed in this situation, all you can do is just sit here and stress and think about every possible horrendous situation. And all of the advice that you give to people completely goes out the window.'

Kent is the mother of two daughters: Sosa, 8 months, whom she welcomed via a sperm donor, and Ocean, 4, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Randall Emmett.
'We have been battling for many years and we finally got all of our ducks in a row and put the custody battle to bed. I'm home base for my child and we have structure,' Kent said of coparenting with Emmett, 45, during the Monday, May 12, appearance on 'The Morning After' podcast. 'There's bedtime and routine, and he just flies by the seat of his pants.'
Kent admitted at the time that she 'tries to be chill' with Emmett, but he recently had Ocean on a late-night flight when she had school the next day.
'I'm like, 'Can we just get it together for five minutes?'' Kent said. 'We're all good. We're still all good but I'm like, 'You got me revved up.''

Days of Our Lives Finally Reveals Who Shot EJ — Did You Guess Correctly?

Another Salem whodunit has finally been solved. More than four months after EJ DiMera was shot in his own living room, the identity of his assailant was revealed on Days of Our Lives' Aug. 19 episode. While EJ's son Johnny was initially suspected to be the shooter, a hypnosis session with Marlena helped EJ remember that it was a woman who pulled the trigger. This redirected suspicions to Johnny's wife Chanel, who was recorded threatening EJ shortly before the incident occurred — that is, until the video was discovered to be a deepfake, at which point Johnny fired EJ as his lawyer and decided to represent himself. (Yes, EJ was originally defending his own son at his own attempted murder trial. This is still Salem, after all!) More from TVLine Ryan Paevey Sets General Hospital Return - But Who Is He Playing? All Her Fault, Missing Child Drama Starring Succession's Sarah Snook, Gets Peacock Premiere Date Beyond the Gates' Ambyr Michelle Is Helping Viewers Heal From Trauma Through the Power of Storytelling - TVLine's Women to Watch EJ even tried to accuse Belle, who's both EJ's ex-girlfriend and the prosecution, of shooting him. He inferred that Marlena thought Belle did it after EJ recalled a woman shooting him during his hypnosis session, which led Belle to believe that whoever shot EJ is someone that both he and Marlena would want to protect. But who? The big reveal came in the final moments of Tuesday's episode, when EJ at last remembered the events of that fateful night. As many viewers (but apparently no one in Salem) suspected, the shooter was none other than EJ's 10-year-old niece Rachel, the daughter of his sister Kristen. In a haunting flashback, EJ remembered his niece demanding to find out where her grandmother went. EJ swore he didn't know, but Rachel pulled the trigger anyway, then left her uncle for dead on his living room floor. Were you surprised by the (attempted) killer reveal, or did you have another suspect in mind? And now that EJ remembers the truth, do you think he'll come forward, or will he continue accusing other women? Drop a comment with your thoughts on ' latest twist below. Resilient artists return to Montauk Art Show after alleged drunk driver plowed through it

Weeks after an alleged drunk driver plowed through the Montauk Artist Association's annual summer art show, ruining artwork, breaking hearts and causing thousands in damage, the show has returned. The artists say they're stronger than ever. Jewelry designer Jacqueline Clint turned the destruction into determination, remaking most of her inventory, one bead and wire at a time. Kent lost $80,000 worth of jewelry in the initial incident. Her new booth is set up just feet from where the crash happened. "Its taken a long time. I am not at 100%, but I feel like I am almost there," Clint said. "Every available minute of my day, I am making jewelry." What was destroyed in a matter of seconds has taken her weeks to rebuild. "It's my passion. I really didn't have a choice to just stop making jewelry, I don't want to, and I felt like I cant think about what happened. I just have to pick up and move on," Clint said. In June, a 23-year-old driver who was allegedly under the influence plowed her SUV through the popular Montauk Plaza. Show organizers said she barreled through at least six tents, destroying nearly everything. All but one of those tents returned for the second part of the show. "Anyone who can come here and pick up the pieces and just keep going again, tells you a lot about the resiliency of these people." Montauk treasurer John Papaleo said. Photographer Jim Levison is another of the returning artists. His damage tallied up to roughly $30,000, but he said his love for art was never destroyed. "Yes, it feels good to be back in business," Levison said. The artists aren't just displaying their work. They're showing off what it means to rebuild. The art show will be going on all weekend. There's also an active online fundraiser for the artists which has already reached roughly $24,000.

Tom Sandoval feared America's Got Talent appearance was ‘setting myself up to get trolled'

Tom Sandoval knew what was coming. After the 43-year-old reality star appeared on America's Got Talent in June, many viewers were vocally critical not just of his performance but of his apparent attempts to 'rehab' his tainted image. In 2024, he had been dubbed the 'most hated man in America' after it emerged during season 10 of Vanderpump Rules that he cheated on longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix with her then-best friend, Rachel Leviss. Both the cast and fans of the hit Bravo show rallied around Madix amid the infidelity scandal, dubbed 'Scandoval,' while Sandoval was pilloried. When he was first approached about auditioning for AGT, Sandoval suspected he'd be in for more of the same. 'It was something that my buddy Jason had brought to my attention,' Sandoval tells The Independent. 'I immediately did not want to do it. I felt like it would create a lot of negative backlash, setting myself up to get trolled.' Speaking while visiting family in St. Louis, Missouri, Sandoval reveals he was also worried about the sheer terror of being on the AGT stage in front of judges like Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel. Ultimately, though, he says he decided to do it for the sake of his band. 'They were with me through one of the hardest times in my life,' he says. 'And to go to them and say, 'Hey, I don't want to do it 'cause I'm worried about backlash' — It would have broken my heart to do that. So I was like, you know what? These guys have been there for me, and I want to do this for them and for us.' Sandoval and his band, The Most Extras, performed A-ha's 'Take on Me' during the first round of auditions and ended up receiving four 'yes' votes from the judges. The audience danced along, many with mouths agape, trying to reconcile that in front of them was the same man they watched for over a decade on Vanderpump Rules. While Bravo is an undeniable part of his history, Sandoval says he's keen to move on from it. On August 19, the second round of AGT auditions begins on NBC, and he's brimming with excitement about taking the stage once more. The Traitors star traces his musical journey back to his childhood, when he began playing trumpet in the fourth grade. He joined a marching band before quitting sports to appear in a production of the cult favorite musical Little Shop of Horrors. More recently, he taught himself to play guitar and is now taking voice lessons as he fronts a band for the first time. He's been in bands before, but they never worked out. 'It was always original music,' he says. 'I would put so much time, so much passion and money and effort into getting this band to the next level, and then it would fall apart. It was just so heartbreaking that I didn't play music for quite a while.' Eventually, he found his way to The Most Extras, a nine-person covers band, but he isn't ruling out a return to creating original music again. Vanderpump Rules fans might remember 'Touch in Public', the 2015 single from Charles McMansion, a duo Sandoval formed with the late actor Isaac Kappy. For now, though, he is leaning into the joys of appealing to a broad audience with songs everyone can sing along to. He says he has 'learned some hard lessons' during his time touring with his new bandmates, recalling their van getting stuck in the mud during their first tour and needing to be hauled out by a stranger, lugging equipment up multiple flights of stairs to get to a rehearsal room in New York, and the ceiling falling during another small gig. After their AGT debut, Simon Cowell told them, 'Not everyone comes on this show to get a record deal. Sometimes it's about being true to who you are.' Sandoval echoes that sentiment during our conversation. 'I feel like this is something that really is true to me,' he explains. 'It's something I love. Music has always been in my life. My dad was a DJ, and I grew up listening to great music. It just really inspired me.' When we spoke, Sandoval had not yet decided which song his band would perform during the second round of auditions. He did say that he'd been attending vocal lessons and was eager to come 'full circle in another talent show; a much, much bigger one in fact, the biggest stage we've ever been on.' Regardless of the outcome on AGT, Sandoval is looking ahead to the band's fall tour. 'I'm so grateful to be able to do something like this, to be out there, to have my band be able to be on a big stage like that,' he says. 'I'm just excited for what's to come.'
