RTX's Raytheon to showcase advanced defense solutions and technological capabilities at IDEX 2025
Abu Dhabi – Raytheon, an RTX business, is set to showcase its latest capabilities and innovative solutions designed to address the evolving challenges of a rapidly changing global defense landscape at the UAE's premier International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) from 17-21 February 2025 taking place at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
Under the theme "Adaptation, Exploration, Transformation: Reimagining Security, Society, and the Human Experience in an Age of Disruption," Raytheon will showcase its expertise in developing advanced technologies designed for the evolving threat landscape and the diversifying aerospace industry, addressing both present and future needs.
This year, Raytheon will focus on highlighting its capabilities across integrated air and missile defense and air warfare. Among the solutions displayed throughout IDEX, Raytheon will showcase a portfolio of combat-proven air and missile defense sensors and effectors, including the Coyote Block 2 kinetic effector; the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS), designed to detect and defeat complex threats across the battlespace; and the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS), which provides advanced medium-range air defense. The company will also highlight its leading position as a sensor provider on 5th gen platforms and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) with the MS-110 Multispectral Airborne Reconnaissance System, the DAS-4 Multispectral Targeting System, and the SeaVue Multi-role surveillance radar.

The company revealed that DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is now available in over 125 games and apps. This includes 10 new titles launching soon with DLSS 4 support. Earlier this year, NVIDIA launched the GeForce RTX 50 Series and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. At that time, 75 games and apps supported the technology. By March, the number grew to over 100. Now, NVIDIA has confirmed support in more than 125 titles, reaching this milestone two years faster than DLSS 3. DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation can generate up to three additional frames per traditionally rendered frame. This works alongside other DLSS technologies to boost frame rates by up to 8X. The feature is available on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and laptops, enabling high-resolution visuals and smooth gameplay. NVIDIA also revealed the following 10 new games and apps launching with DLSS 4: Crimson Desert F1® 25 FBC: Firebreak Dune: Awakening inZOI LIGHT OF MOTIRAM MindsEye RoadCraft Splitgate 2 WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Chaos Enscape & Autodesk VRED In addition, NVIDIA announced an upcoming update for DOOM: The Dark Ages. The update, launching in June, will add path tracing and DLSS Ray Reconstruction. The game already supports native ray tracing using idTech8 and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. NVIDIA partnered with id Software to deliver these PC-exclusive upgrades. Path tracing enhances lighting effects by reflecting detailed elements on surfaces. The feature uses NVIDIA SHaRC (Spatial Hash Radiance Cache) and Shader Execution Reordering for better performance. DLSS Ray Reconstruction replaces traditional denoisers, providing improved image quality and detail on RTX GPUs. Furthermore, NVIDIA reported an update to Portal with RTX is now live. The update features enhanced ray tracing and neural rendering. NVIDIA has integrated DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation into the game, along with upgraded DLSS Frame Generation and DLSS Ray Reconstruction using transformer AI models. The update also introduces RTX Neural Radiance Cache (NRC). This AI-driven shader estimates indirect lighting, creating more realistic and detailed environments. With these announcements, NVIDIA continues to push the boundaries of AI-powered graphics and real-time rendering.

Tawazun Council, RTX and EGA sign MOU to explore Gallium Production in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Today, Tawazun Council, the aerospace and defence company RTX (NYSE: RTX) and Emirates Global Aluminium, the world's largest producer of 'premium aluminium', signed an MOU to establish EGA as a new producer of gallium, a critical mineral used across global supply chains. This initiative will create gallium extraction and refining capabilities at EGA's alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi and make the UAE the world's second largest producer of gallium. Gallium has applications across many different sectors, including in the production of semiconductors, electric vehicles, medical devices and telecom infrastructure. For the defence industry, the supply of gallium is critical as it is a key component of defence products including advanced radars. This new agreement would secure access to this critical mineral for companies including RTX. Tawazun Council is spearheading efforts through its Tawazun Economic Programme, a strategic initiative focused on attracting cutting-edge technologies, accelerating knowledge transfer, and building robust national industrial capabilities. This approach is vital to reinforcing the UAE's industrial security posture, ensuring the country's defence sector remains resilient and competitive amid global challenges. H.E Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council, highlighted that the project aligns seamlessly with the Council's new strategy 2025–2028, which prioritises building a competitive national industrial base and advancing cutting-edge infrastructure to ensure industrial and technological security. Central to this strategy is attracting high-quality investments, expanding strategic partnerships locally and internationally, and empowering Emirati talent. He described the project as a pivotal milestone in developing the UAE's vital industries, positioning the country as a global leader in gallium production — a rare metal essential for sectors including semiconductors, military radar, electric vehicles, medical technology, and telecommunications. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasised its strategic role in strengthening production and export capacities while establishing an independent national supply base and cementing the UAE's status as a forward-looking industrial hub globally. 'The aerospace and defence industry relies on stable access to rare earth elements,' said Paolo Dal Cin, senior vice president for operations and supply chain at RTX. 'Today's agreement puts us on a path towards a reliable supply of gallium, needed for production of critical aerospace and defence solutions.' EGA and RTX anticipate entering into an agreement to conduct a feasibility study for a high purity gallium plant at EGA's Al Taweelah alumina refinery, which processes bauxite ore into alumina, the feedstock for aluminium smelters. Gallium is found in trace amounts in bauxite. As gallium is an impurity in aluminium, gallium levels must be carefully managed in metal for the most demanding applications. Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium, said, 'Gallium is an important metal for the most advanced electronics systems but remains commercially challenging to produce. This agreement between Tawazun Council, EGA, and RTX makes the development of a new source of gallium in the UAE feasible, creating an additional revenue stream for EGA and a new industrial capability for the UAE in line with our nation's industrial growth strategy Operation 300bn. Raytheon, an RTX Business, inaugurates production and assembly facility to manufacture the Coyote counter drone interceptor at Tawazun Industrial Park
Abu Dhabi – Raytheon, an RTX business, announced the inauguration of a new advanced industrial facility at Tawazun Industrial Park in Abu Dhabi. The facility will serve as a specialised centre for the production and assembly of the Coyote counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS), reflecting the company's ongoing commitment to supporting the UAE's efforts in localising advanced defence manufacturing. The inauguration ceremony was attended by US Ambassador to the UAE H.E Martina Strong, along with a group of senior officials from Tawazun Council, Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, CEO of Operations, Matar Ali Al Romaithi, Sector Chief of Defence & Security Industrial Affairs (DSIA), Khalifa Ayada Al Hameli, Chief Executive Affairs, Ahmed Ali Al Harmoodi, Sector Chief of Acquisition Management, Hamdan Nasser Al Zaabi, Acting CEO of Tawazun Industrial Park and Fahad Mohammed Al Mheiri, Managing Director of Raytheon Emirates. During the event, officials toured the facility which, once operational, will enhance the resilience and efficiency of the defence supply chain, a testament to the UAE's progress in localising cutting-edge defence technologies. The launch of this facility follows a series of agreements signed between Tawazun Council and Raytheon to support the localisation of strategic defence industries in the UAE. As part of these collaborations, Raytheon has partnered with local entities, including EDGE's EPI, which has already commenced the manufacturing of prototype components as an initial step toward industrial readiness. Spanning 21,500 square feet, the facility features advanced infrastructure and dedicated spaces for the final integration, assembly, and precision testing of the Coyote interceptor system. The system, proven in the field, is designed to counter a wide range of unmanned aerial threats and will now be produced locally — setting a new benchmark in the UAE's defence manufacturing ecosystem. Matar Ali Al Romaithi, Sector Chief of Defence & Security Industrial Affairs (DSIA) at Tawazun Council, said: 'This facility marks a strategic milestone in the UAE's vision to establish an advanced defence industrial base.
