ALBAWABA - The Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence (BIGAI), an innovative research and development non-profit organization affiliated with Peking University, Tsinghua University, and other leading academic institutions in China, has revealed a groundbreaking AI humanoid child. The Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence (BIGAI) has successfully developed and unveiled the innovative TongTong 2.0, a humanoid artificial intelligence (AI) system that exhibits the abilities and traits of a real 5- to 6-year-old child.TongTong 2.0 was announced and revealed at the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) in Beijing. The innovative humanoid child can negotiate, throw tantrums, speak, and ask to delay tasks, just like a real 5- or 6-year-old boy or girl.
The new TongTong 2.0 highlights significant advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), open-source achievements, and other technological progress made by China.

It is worth noting that TongTong was originally introduced in 2024 with simpler capabilities. The new version now advances in its language usage, development, movement, learning, emotions, and overall interactions.
