
Student injured in incident near Bishop McNally High School
Calgary police say an investigation is underway into an incident that took place near Bishop McNally High School Wednesday, resulting in a student being injured by a weapon.
Police say a male youth was assaulted by a young man with a weapon in a nearby alley.
The victim then went into the school to report what happened.
Police believe an airsoft pistol was used, causing minor injuries to the victims' face.
The suspect is known to police and they don't believe he is a danger to the community. He's not in custody yet, but they are searching for him.
Earlier Wednesday, police said in a media statement that the school initiated a lockdown 'out of an abundance of caution,' but at a media scrum shortly before noon, clarified that no lockdown took place.
Bishop McNally High School is located at 5700 Falconridge Boulevard N.E.

1 dead in Gatineau single-vehicle collision
One person has died and another is injured following a single-vehicle collision in Gatineau, Que., according to local police. The collision happened around 3 a.m. Saturday on Laurier Street between Verdun Street and Allumettières Boulevard in Hull, police told Radio-Canada. It is too early to say what caused the collision, police said.
