How Good Can Mason Rudolph Be?
Can Arthur Smith Be Steelers QB Whisperer? | Steelers Morning Rush
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, and his ability to mentor the team's next quarterback. The Steelers have a plan to trade up to draft a quarterback in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, finally addressing the position after several missteps in the aftermath of the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger. But is Smith the right guy for the job to develop a rookie quarterback? It's not anything he's ever done before in his two seasons as Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator and three as Atlanta Falcons head coach, but there are some reasons to think that Smith will be capable of molding a talented passer, especially his success in resurrecting the careers of Ryan Tannehill and Justin Fields. So can Smith be the Steelers' quarterback whisperer? Alan breaks it down. #steelers #herewego #nfl CONNECT WITH STEELERS NOW: Steelers Now: https://steelersnow.com SN on Twitter: https://twitter.com/pghsteelersnow SN on FB: https://facebook.com/steelersnow SN on Insta: https://www.instagram.com/pghsteelersnow/

Pilots practice ahead of Kirtland Air Force Base's Air Fiesta this weekend
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Precision in the sky. That's the goal this weekend at Kirtland Air Force Base, as their popular Air Fiesta returns after a long hiatus. Story continues below Crime: Albuquerque business owner faces murder charge for shooting fleeing shoplifter News: Las Vegas deputy charged with aggravated battery and robbery Business: A downtown Albuquerque shoe shine parlor is still serving patrons after nearly a century Events: What's happening around New Mexico May 30-June 5? Kirtland Air Fiesta and more After six years, Kirtland Air Force Base's Air Fiesta is back, and on Friday, they were out practicing for this weekend's event. 'You want to make sure that you've got your tactics down pat. You want to make sure that you know your routine is tight because this is the first air show in six years. You don't want to go out there and disappoint. We want everything to be perfect. We want precision out there,' said Chief of Media at the Kirtland Air Force Base Public Affairs Office, Robert Smith. Base officials said this weekend's event was two years in the making, and although the fiesta hasn't happened in six years, they hope, after this year, to make it every two to three years: a chance for the general public to see the Air Force in action. 'Not everybody gets to see these things on a day-to-day basis,' said Smith. From cargo planes to vintage planes, visitors can get an up-close look at powerful aircraft on the ground and in the sky. Smith added, 'For those of us on Kirtland, you see some of the cargo aircraft, but we don't see these fighter aircraft every day.' With demonstrations of how the planes refuel mid-air and some big performances too, including the U.S. Army's parachute team, the Golden Knights. The event is free to the public. Gates open at 8 a.m. and the event runs until 5 p.m. Visitors are asked to go to one of the park and ride locations, including the Isleta Amphitheater and Gateway Center on Gibson. 'All you do is park there, we get you here, have a great time, and then we'll bus you right back,' said Smith. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph thinks Will Howard has a lot of tools.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph thinks Will Howard has a lot of tools. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Many expected the Pittsburgh Steelers to take a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, but not many thought they would wait as long as they did. Advertisement They drafted Ohio State field general Will Howard with the 185th pick in the sixth round of the draft, and veteran QB Mason Rudolph thinks that the rookie has a lot of good things going for him. "He's been great," Rudolph said in a recent interview with Missi Matthews. "He's a nice guy, first of all. He's a good guy to share the quarterback room with... He is athletic and he throws the ball well... I think he's got a lot of tools and I'll be excited to go to work with him." Some, including former NFL coach Jon Gruden, have compared the 6-4, 236 pound rookie to Buffalo Bills' MVP winner Josh Allen, who himself was not all that in his rookie season. If Howard can live up to even half of that comparison, the Steelers have something to look forward to. Advertisement In his final season with the Buckeyes this past season, Howard finished with 4,010 passing yards and 35 touchdowns on 73 percent completion, all three of which led the Big Ten Conference. The Steelers' current starting quarterback is Rudolph, with no Aaron Rodgers decision seeming to be imminent just yet. But eventually? If Howard can prove that he has all of the tools that Rudolph says he does, he could have an opportunity to take the veteran's job as Pittsburgh's QB1.
