Aussie woman slams huge problem after moving back to the country
A woman has asked Australians to share what they like about their country during a fiery rant about how much life has changed Down Under.
Sandra Abu Rabei, who has moved back to Australia after living in Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia and Qatar said the country was going backwards.
'Once you move back it's not that same as what you see from overseas or how other people explain the way that they live here,' she said in a TikTok.
'A lot of people come and say "no it's great, the lifestyle's great". But it's honestly cooked. We are slaves to the system.
'We go to work, we go home and then what's next?
'We pay so much tax, we pay so much for groceries, everyone's so exhausted that all they do is go home and sit on the sofa.
'I just find there's no real community feel here but that's not my biggest issue. It's just the fact that we are slaves to the system.'
Ms Abu Rabei asked those wearing 'rose-coloured glasses' to share why they thought Australia was still the lucky country.
'I think that's long gone,' she continued.
'It's just not an affordable place anymore. It's not a fun place. We are living in an actual s*** hole and there are so many better places than here.'
Ms Abu Rabei, who has three children, told Daily Mail Australia that any of the previous countries she had lived in would be 'great options' to raise her kids.
'I believe raising children in a country that has a better work/life balance with less tax to help them succeed in the future,' the small business owner said.
'People aren't seeing the benefits of where their tax money goes. Speak to any Boomer and they will tell you how bad it is now compared to before.
'I think Malaysia has a great lifestyle and Jordan has a great sense of community.'
Ms Abu Rabei said she would 'most likely' move overseas in the future.
Dozens of Aussies agreed that life Down Under was not what it used to be.
'I grew up in Australia for 38 years and I left for another life abroad for 23 years. I have just returned and I feel the same as you. Australia has become very sad case,' one man commented.
'We are total slaves to the system, so blinded. It's incredibly expensive with high taxes on everything,' another said.
'The element of fun is minimal and (there's) a rule for everything.'
'I'm from London and lived in Australia for eight years. I want to leave because it doesn't offer my kids the best opportunities anymore now so I feel they'd be better off growing up in the UK and having closer access to Europe and other countries which are thriving,' a third person agreed.
But many disagreed, with some arguing it could be a lot worse.
'Spend some time overseas in a third world country and you'd be grateful for everything that we take for granted in Australia,' one person wrote.
'Give me Australia any day where all I see is people whining about literally anything and everything which in reality is so small in the big scheme of life.'

Rock star's stunning $4million Gold Coast treehouse escape hits the market
A stunning Gold Coast hideaway favoured by UK rocker Sting has hit the market. The treehouse escape is located in Currumbin in the Gold Coast hinterland and proved a popular retreat for Sting, 73, who had previously described the property as 'peaceful, beautiful and inspiring'. The Gold Coast Bulletin reported that the tranquil property, dubbed 'Katta on Currumbin', was last sold in 2022 for $4.025million. It is on the market once again, with agents taking expressions of interest. Designed by architect Shane Denman, the house was completed in 2004. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Set on a 567 square metre block, the property comprises two self-contained homes, complete with a total of seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. It's also a vista lover's paradise, with the unique home offering uninterrupted coastal views from Currumbin Estuary to Palm Beach in Surfers Paradise. Surrounded by pristine crown land reserve, the property held the title of the area's most popular holiday rental for 15 years through accommodation portal Stayz. Both properties boast high ceilings and glass walls to take full advantage of the idyllic surroundings. The penthouse level features an open-plan living and dining space that opens onto an entertainer's balcony. The kitchen has a butler's pantry, two fridges and on-demand sparkling water. The luxe spaciousness extends to the subsequent three floors too, with each boasting its own outdoor areas for taking in the serenity. 'This is one of the most tightly held locations on the Gold Coast,' listing agent Lisa Papadopoulos told the publication. 'From the moment you arrive, you'll feel it. The air is different here – clean, crisp, alive with the scent of the ocean and rainforest.' Sting and his wife Trudie have been together since 1982, and the couple share the same penchant for healthy living. Their tantric sex life has been a hot topic for decades, after famously claiming to bed each other for hours on end back in the nineties. In a recent interview with The Times, the music legend, 73, and his director wife, 71, who tied the knot in 1992, joked about what goes on behind closed doors, decades after the famous claim. Sting, real name Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, shrugged: 'It could be worse. And the seven hours includes dinner, a movie and five hours of begging.' The star has been plagued by questions about his energetic love life since he once gave the interview in which he boasted about the tantric sex sessions. He previously clarified his infamous admissions during an interview for Bravo series Inside The Actor's Studio in 2014. 'The idea of tantric sex is a spiritual act,' he explained. 'I don't know any purer and better way of expressing a love for another individual than sharing that wonderful, I call it, 'sacrament.' I would stand by it. Not seven hours, but the idea.' He then quipped, 'Seven hours includes movie and dinner,' generating laughs from the audience.

Kmart shoppers go wild over $59 'exclusive' item you can't find anywhere in stores: 'Such a vibe'
Kmart fans are in a frenzy over a new $59 homeware item that's only available online - and it's already being hailed as a must-have for 2025's biggest interior trend: Dollhouse Chic. The Green Boucle Ottoman, listed as an online exclusive, has quickly become one of the most talked-about items on social media, with shoppers scrambling to snap it up before it sells out. The minimalist piece features a rich sage green hue and a plush, boucle fabric - making it the perfect blend of comfort and style. With its compact design and curved silhouette, it effortlessly taps into the current obsession with soft, feminine interiors. One thrilled Kmart customer told FEMAIL she couldn't believe the quality for the price. 'It looks like something you'd find in a boutique furniture store - not from Kmart and definitely not for $59,' she said. 'I need to get my hands on it. I will style mine next to a floor-length mirror with a pastel cushion on top - I'm sure it will be the most complimented piece in my home.' Those who got their hands on the statement piece couldn't get enough of it, with one saying: 'How cute is this Kmart find? The boucle ottoman is my fave.' 'Ottoman is a vibe,' another shared. 'Stunning,' one added. Interior expert Lucy Sutherland previously told FEMAIL that Dollhouse Chic is the antidote to cold minimalism. 'This style embraces soft femininity, delicate details and vintage-inspired charm,' she said. 'Think pastel hues, curved shapes, and romantic textures. It's all about creating a dreamy, inviting space.' The ottoman is designed for daily use and endless versatility. It can be styled as a footrest in a reading nook, extra seating in a living area, or even as a vanity stool in a bedroom. For those wanting to go full Dollhouse Chic, the piece pairs beautifully with candles, ceramic trinket dishes, dried florals, and muted-toned cushions. Think soft pinks, lavenders, powder blues, and the signature sage green that defines the look - all tied together with plush textures like velvet, fluted glass, and rattan. With shoppers already reporting low stock and warning others to 'run, don't walk,' the ottoman is expected to disappear quickly - and with its high-end aesthetic and budget-friendly price tag, it's easy to see why.

Phoebe Burgess doesn't look like this anymore! Former NRL WAG unveils shock transformation as she uses popular beauty trend
Phoebe Burgess unveiled a new look on Thursday as she attended an influencer preview of the MECCA Loves Charlotte Tilbury masterclass in Melbourne. The former NRL WAG, 36, shared several images and videos to Instagram showing off a glamorous transformation as she had her makeup professionally done. The mother-of-two sported a very lush pout, thanks to a popular beauty trend which uses a combination of lip liner and contour to over-line the lips for a fuller look. She also rocked a shimmering, light smoky eye with dark liner along her waterline - a far cry from the natural makeup look Phoebe usually rocks. To finish off the glamorous transformation, Phoebe then opted for a darker tan. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The new look comes as Phoebe is preparing to offload the sprawling rural property she bought following her split with ex-husband Sam. Phoebe purchased the property in the NSW Southern Highlands in 2021 following her bitter and public split with her footy star ex. The influencer paid $1.7 million for the home and it was listed online as 'coming soon' by Ray White Bowral late last month, with no price guide. According to the Daily Telegraph, Phoebe and her two children Poppy, eight, and Billie, six, who she shares with Sam, 36, never officially lived in the house. She has, instead, remained at her parents' nearby property, with the home leased for 'about a year', according to the publication. Phoebe's Mediterranean-style home, dubbed 'Acre Hill', is set on a tranquil 6,949 square metres and is described as a 'garden sanctuary'. Set at the end of a private road, the two-storey home features a generous four bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a separate 'powder room'. It also boasts a slow-combustion wood fire, which adds to the homely atmosphere, as well as a home office and separate TV room downstairs. The mother-of-two sported a very lush pout, thanks to a popular beauty trend which uses a combination of lip liner and contour to over-line the lips for a fuller look The picturesque grounds also feature a chicken coop and greenhouse, plus irrigation throughout the gardens. Since splitting from former Rabbitohs captain Sam in October 2019, Phoebe and her two children have resided with her parents. She grew up at the property with her parents Mitch and Sarah Hooke, and sisters Jemima and Harriet, just a stone's throw from her 'Acre Hill' property. She told Daily Mail Australia at the time the move back to her parental home was one of the best decisions she's made for her two children. 'I learned really early on that there's a trade-off. My kids love the space,' she said. 'Billy has an electric bike, and dad's just made him a cool track out in mum's horse arena of jumps... Poppy just loves going outside and being creative.'
