Wife shocked to learn policeman husband stabbed during patrol
Norfazliana Osman, 35, said she was at their home in the Pudu police quarters when Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, contacted her around 1pm on Thursday (July 31).
"They said they needed to operate immediately and asked for consent as part of his intestines might need to be removed due to the stab wound,' she told reporters at the hospital today.
Her husband, Corporal Mohd Nadzri Sudiman, remains in stable condition but is still weak and requires pain management, she said.
"I understand the risks of his job as a policeman, but as a wife, the fear is always there,' said Norfazliana, who has two children aged 11 and seven.
She said it is uncertain how long her husband will remain hospitalised, but confirmed their children have been informed of his condition.
Earlier, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay visited Mohd Nadzri at the hospital.
Also present were Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, Bukit Aman Management (Administration) deputy director Datuk Azizee Ismail, Wangsa Maju district police chief ACP Mohd Lazim Ismail and Cheras district police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan.
Mohd Nadzri was seriously injured after being stabbed in the abdomen by a 56-year-old local man while patrolling with four other officers in Pudu Market, Jalan Yew.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and has been remanded until next Thursday. The case is being investigated under Section 307 and Section 186 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and obstructing a public servant, as well as Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. - Bernama

"The molestation was believed to have occurred on Feb 27, 2025. A police report was made two weeks later after the victim shared the incident on March 11, 2025. "The witnesses in this case are still being tracked down to assist with investigations as there is no closed-circuit television footage at the scene," he said.

Vietnamese man steals from supermarket, takes baby hostage in Butterworth
BUTTERWORTH: A Vietnamese man was arrested after stealing from a supermarket and attempting to take an 11-month-old baby hostage. The incident occurred today on Jalan Telaga Air. Seberang Perai Utara district police chief ACP Anuar Abd Rahman said the supermarket supervisor spotted the suspect fleeing with unpaid seafood items. The supervisor caught the man, but he escaped briefly before being pursued again. 'The man then grabbed an 11-month-old baby boy and brandished a knife at the public,' Anuar said in a statement. With the help of supermarket staff and bystanders, the suspect was subdued before police arrived. The case is being investigated under Sections 380, 324, and 506 of the Penal Code for theft, causing injury, and criminal intimidation. Cops probe upside down Jalur Gemilang

PETALING JAYA : Seberang Perai Utara police have launched an investigation into an incident in which a man had hoisted the Jalur Gemilang upside down. District police chief Anuar Abd Rahman said the authorities were investigating the incident for improper use of emblems and names, insulting behaviour, and improper use of network facilities. 'Police have recorded the statements of the complainant as well as the suspect involved in the incident,' he said in a statement. A video, uploaded at about 12.30pm today, shows a man hoisting the flag, while another was recording it. A report was lodged at the Kepala Batas police station. Anuar reminded the public against sensationalising the matter to avoid disrupting public order. Earlier today, Malaysiakini reported that the hardware shop owner involved in the gaffe said he was measuring the length of an iron pole while hanging the flag and did not notice that the flag was upside down. The owner said he rectified the mistake immediately after realising it. He apologised for the blunder and lodged a report at the Kepala Batas police station to provide an explanation. It was the sixth flag-related incident since January, and the second case of improper handling of flags this month. On Aug 1, SJKC Chung Hua in Port Dickson apologised for mistakenly flying the Jalur Gemilang upside down.
