‘You think I'm jealous?': Harbhajan Singh asks Ashwin, gets brutally honest reply
In a recent podcast on his YouTube channel, Ashwin brought up a comment from a viewer claiming that Harbhajan was jealous of him.
"This whole jealousy bit. Before I allow you to answer that, let me clarify something. People look at everything from their perspective. For example, if they are passing a comment on me, they believe that others would see the world through their eyes. This comment that you are jealous of this person who is interviewing you today--what would that be about?" Ashwin stated in his question.
Responding to Ashwin's question, Harbhajan replied, 'Do you think I am jealous of you? You are sitting here with me today. We have spoken at length. Do you think I am that kind of person?'
Harbhajan may have expected a diplomatic reply, but Ashwin's candid response took him—and the internet—by surprise.
"Even if you were jealous at one point, it is justified. That is my point. I would never take it the wrong way because we are all human. Naturally, it is bound to be like that." Ashwin responded.
Harbhajan then explained that when a player with 400 wickets sees a new competitor in the squad, it's natural for a thought of competition to arise.
'I just want to make one point very clear that when you came into the side… you know that this could be the guy who could be playing for longer period of time…. One more guy has come in, it's competition. Now at that time, somewhere in my mind, even if just a small thought must have come, like 'I have to step up my game.'' Harbhajan responded to Ashwin's question.
'But somewhere, I feel that today, as we're sitting here, everything happens for a reason. I played this game, before me someone else was playing it, I replaced someone too.' Harbhajan added.
'Too honest and blunt for broadcasting media, Anna. 😭🙏🏻 My dream of seeing you as being a part of the Sky Sports commentary team is vanishing.' reacted one user to the clip of video shared by Ashwin.
Meanwhile, other users reacted to a social media post that went viral for sharing the snippet of the above conversation.
'In all formats including ipl bhajji was great, surely Ashwin wasn't as good in all formats his odi career was one to be forgotten.I like both and see them better than kumble easily but bhajji is underrated maybe his attitude overshadows his legacy' noted one user.
'Both are champion players, match winners on their day. In a broader perspective, they are similar range players. Comparing between generations is always foolish.' added another user
'The whole segment is crazy, ashwin was literally bashing him and he looked clueless.' yet another user stated.

Fabiano Caruana's blunt interview slamming Freestyle Chess event deleted, then restored, claims player
Fabiano Caruana's blunt interview slamming the organisers of Freestyle Chess for allowing live audiences in the playing arena was reportedly deleted from their YouTube channel and was later restored, the player claimed on his own podcast, C Squared. Caruana had said that he was 'mostly glad' that the Las Vegas leg of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour was over. Caruana had defeated Arjun Erigaisi to end in fifth place at the event, thus taking home $50,000 (approximately Rs 43 lakh). On his podcast C Squared, Caruana was told by Christian Chirila: 'They deleted your interview, man.' To this, Caruana replied that the organisers had put it back up on the handle. 'I don't think they had any need to to remove it in the first place. But yeah, eventually they put it back up.' Asked by Chirila if he was offended by the video being deleted, Caruana said: 'Not really, but you know, the thing is obviously they're not censoring me, right? I can speak pretty freely. I don't think their intention was to (do that). I just don't don't know why they decided to delete it. I guess to have time to discuss what to do, but you know, it usually doesn't work very well to do that. If you try to hide something, usually it tends to come out in a more… Caruana continued: 'I had some complaints which I'm sure they'll work on in the future to to do better. I don't think it really made sense to not say anything because they're going to have more events. I'm probably going to play more of their events. So, why should I not let them know that there's an issue?' But what were the complaints in Caruana's interview that the organisers deleted and then restored it? Caruana was unhappy with the fact that the spectators who were going to be in the playing hall would have access to live commentary with a few seconds delay and that they could also know via the eval bar what each player's standing was in the game happening in front of them. 'The match (against Hikaru Nakamura which he lost), I did like start to just get very annoyed at the whole tournament. I mean, it's fine to play the super long days, but I don't think it should come down to basically like outside interference. Not to make excuses, but I mean, the spectators are basically just yelling when we have five seconds each. Hikaru was was crushing me and then, you know, he probably had some mate, but it wasn't easy. He had 5 seconds. He went back with the queen. I was back in the game. And around this moment there was just like yelling. I mean like very (loud yelling). I'm not exaggerating at all. It was just screaming in the audience and you can't play with five seconds. So we both blundered. I could basically have mated him and also won his queen on two different occasions. It just leaves a bad taste,' Caruana had told the media team of Freestyle Chess after the tournament ended. Caruana said that he only found out during the players' meeting before the tournament started that audiences would have access to evaluation bar. The evaluation bar is an indicator of the match situation. 'I thought there would be some perhaps whispers that we would hear. But it was much more than that. They were just yelling and we could hear that even through headphone, even through noise-cancelling headphones and like very audibly. It wasn't some noise in the background like it was very audible,' Caruana had said.

4th Test: Gill has stood up in toughest moments for India, says Ponting
Despite Shubman Gill falling for 103 on the stroke of lunch during day five's play in the ongoing fourth Test against England, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has lauded the Indian skipper for standing up for the side in the toughest moments of the series. Gill had come out to bat on a hat-trick ball in the first over of India's second innings on day four, but stood up with his patience and gritty nature hit 103 off 238 balls, laced with 12 boundaries. It was his ninth Test hundred and fourth of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series. He has now tied with legendary batters Don Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar for most centuries as captain in a Test series, whilst also becoming the first player to hit four hundreds in their debut Test series as captain. The knock of 103 also marked the first time that Gill took more than 200 balls to score a Test century. "He was in at 0-2, and he's a young captain trying to make his mark. When the opportunity arose for him to stand up with the bat, he's done it again. He has done a terrific job so far during the series." "He's a quality player, make no mistake about it. He's elegant and very stylish with the way he goes about it... and he has an immense love for batting. When the moments in this series have been the toughest, he's stood up for India," said Ponting on Sky Sports' broadcast during lunch break. Ravi Shastri, the former India head coach, lauded Gill and England captain Ben Stokes for their gritty display of skills and temperament in the first session. "Test cricket at its best. It's a tough game and it's there for the tough ones to stand up when the occasion demands - like Gill and Stokes." "Stokes was pinching his shoulder, holding his hamstring, but the ball was coming out beautifully. He bowled for over an hour in that first session of play and got KL Rahul out. He looked like the one bowler making the ball talk on this surface," he said. With two more sessions to go, India are at 223/4 in 89 overs and trail England by 88 runs. The visitors' have an arduous task on their hands to save the match and stop England from clinching a series at Old Trafford. What also makes India's task tougher is vice-captain Rishabh Pant will be coming out to bat with a broken right foot sustained during day one's play. "I'd be sending Pant out next, that's what I would do. He's got an injury that makes it sound like he won't play next week anyway, albeit there's a chance it gets worse if he gets hit on the same foot again." "You could look at it two ways: if he goes out to bat, will it hinder their run-scoring? Maybe it does, so maybe they send Shardul (Thakur) in next and then Rishabh after that. But I'd send Rishabh. I think he's better equipped against the newer ball and will combat that better than Shardul might," concluded Ponting.

"Great To See Them Fight Out": Dinesh Karthik On Shubman Gill, KL Rahul's Resilience In 4th Test
Former wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik said it was fantastic to witness Shubman Gill and KL Rahul fight it out for the rest of the Indian team in the ongoing fourth Test against England at Old Trafford. On day four, skipper Gill and senior opener Rahul led India's defiant fightback via smashing their respective fifties and sharing an unbroken 174-run partnership off 361 balls, as the visitors' reached 174/2 in 63 overs and trail England by 137 runs. Rahul and Gill, unbeaten on 87 and 78 respectively, have given India and its fans a fighting chance of saving the match, something which looked improbable at one point after being reduced to 0/2 in first five balls of their second innings. "There has been many a team that has travelled here and been 0-2, behind in the game, and just given up. What these two guys (Gill and Rahul) did is not just about this game, it is for the future as well. "The determination, the courage they showed and the way they applied themselves through their partnership was a very heartening sign for Indian cricket in general. It was great to see them fight out it there for the rest of the team," said Karthik on Sky Sports' broadcast. Gill and Rahul hold the key for India to dig in and hold on to a draw at Old Trafford. Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad said Gill's knock at Manchester is one of his best knocks in the series so far. "Incredible from Gill, particularly coming into the series it being his first as Indian captain, one of the most pressurised positions in world cricket. To play like he has been absolutely superb. "Yesterday was actually probably his most impressive innings, coming in 0-2 having been in the field - your brain switched on for 160-odd overs. To be able to calm it all down, survive that period pre-lunch, and then build that partnership with Rahul was wonderful. Yesterday was all mental, about as strong as you can be," he concluded.
