Just in: These two Australian bars were named among the world's best by Time Out

Thirsty? You've come to the right place. Time Out is known for recommending the best places to go out around the world, and that absolutely includes must-visit bars. Much like our restaurant scene, Australia is home to some of the grooviest, grungiest and downright glorious watering holes this world has ever seen. Case in point: Time Out has just dropped its 2025 roundup of the best bars in the world – and two Aussie standouts made the cut.
To curate our list of the world's finest, funkiest and most fantastic bars, we asked Time Out's international network of writers and editors to share their number one spot for a drink in their city.
In the 2025 ranking, two Australian bars made their mark among just 18 inclusions. Obviously, Melbourne's ever-evolving bar scene featured on the list, with the handsome Apollo Inn landing in 11th place. Tucked inside a 1920s Neo-Renaissance building, this cosy, dimly-lit cocoon is perfect for old-world cocktail classics and sophisticated snacks. Apollo Inn's refreshing Picon Bière is a one-way ticket to summer in France, but you can also never go wrong with the Gibson Martini.
Time Out Melbourne contributor Lauren Dinse says, 'Your best bet for getting a table at this perennially popular 30-seater is to clock off early from work and pop in at around 4pm. Stay as long as you like; any night of the week, you'll be made very welcome.'
Over in Sydney, Pleasure Club – a purple-hued, disco ball-lit basement bar where hedonism is not only welcome, but encouraged – landed in 16th on the world's best bars list. Having opened in 2024, this late-night live-music bar was the first Newtown venue to be granted a 4am licence in more than 100 years. Time Out Sydney Editor, Avril Treasure, says the drinks are weird, wacky and tinged with nostalgia – think Cherry Ripe-inspired cocktails and even Vegemite Martinis. There's a reason Pleasure Club won Best Cocktail Bar at Time Out Sydney ' s Food and Drink Awards 2025 – head down and see why it lives up to the name.

Bianca Censori looks completely different with new look while out with Kanye's kids

Model and architect Bianca Censori debuted a totally different look on an outing with her husband Kanye West's children following Kim Kardashian's strong words Bianca Censori debuted a brand new look as she headed out with Kayne West and Kim Kardashian's children. The model has racked up a reputation for daring outfits, including a fully nude dress at this year's Grammys. ‌ However, she stepped out looking barely recognisable as she played step-mum to Kanye's children. It seems Bianca has taken Kanye's ex-wife Kim's requests seriously after being told to cover up around them. ‌ She was joined by Saint, Chicago, and Psalm as she showed off her dressed down look in Los Angeles. It comes after photos show Holly Willoughby letting her hair down in white swimsuit on sun soaked holiday. ‌ Bianca rocked a long sleeved black top with matching capri trousers and a pair of pointed toe heels in photos seen by t he Metro. The star kept her dark locks down with a blunt fringe as she opted for a modest look. It came as a surprise for Bianca, who usually opts for revealing outfits as she dares to bare all. Kanye shares North, 12, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, six, with ex-wife Kim. ‌ At the Grammy's earlier this year, Bianca truly commanded attention when she shed her black fluffy coat to unveil a daringly sheer mesh slip dress that pretty much nothing to the imagination. The couple's red carpet stunt hit headlines across the world after Kim had expressed concerns about her ex's new wife and her choice of outfits around their kids. 'They had cross words with each other, and the word is they both lost their tempers," an insider said of Kim and Kanye's clash in November. "Kim has let Kanye know she's going to try and withhold his visitation with the kids if Bianca is around dressed" in revealing outfits they added when discussing Bianca's skimpy style choices while on step-mother duty. "It's awful, and Kim's convinced Bianca and Kanye are purposely trying to mess with her," a separate source claimed to In Touch Weekly in October. Bianca's fashion choices are possibly a cause for concern for Kim due to the fact her eldest daughter North, is often seen copying her step-mother's outfits. ‌ Earlier this year, the young child seemingly borrowed an item from Bianca's wardrobe as she headed out on a mummy-daughter date night with Kim. In June, it seemed Bianca's social media account was deactivated after she braved the streets of New York in nothing but a candy bra and thong. The Australian model wasn't shy about showing off her figure, donning a racy set which threatened to malfunction. Bianca put on another risqué display in the Big Apple and was seen strutting around the city with husband Kanye in nothing but skimpy black underwear and a see-through top that left very little to the imagination. Just a few days earlier, she left very little to the imagination in a pair of sheer pantyhose and a see-through black fishnet top. Fans had a lot to say about the look as one said: "God, I've just opened the Instagram app to see this." "Sometimes less really isn't more," another joked. Someone else complained: "This girl needs to realise that there's much more to women than showing off every inch of your body in such a vulgar way. Where is the class and decorum? Not a good look."

American visits UK but it's not England she falls in love with

Sierra Noelle visited the UK this summer and she had a few things to say about it. You may be surprised to learn that her new favourite place isn't actually in England An American tourist's visit to the UK has left viewers absolutely gobsmacked after her heartfelt reaction proved utterly priceless. Sierra Noelle chronicled her travel escapade online, and she certainly had plenty to share about it following her memorable expedition. ‌ She delivered her verdict to her TikTok audience, and it's left people completely stunned by her unfiltered honesty, as it appears Wales truly caters to all tastes, and she was bursting to share her impressions, leaving Welsh people utterly charmed by her glowing tribute to their homeland. In her video, Sierra confessed that Wales had been occupying her thoughts constantly since her return stateside. ‌ It seems Wales has a talent for capturing hearts based on her video. It's not the first time Americans have shared their travel tales from Wales either. ‌ Sierra revealed: "I have one more thing to say. I keep looking back at my photos from my trip to Wales, and it physically pains me that I am so far away it, and I don't know when I'm going to go back. "But, guys, Wales is so cool. Everyone is so nice there and it's so pretty. Castles are really cool. Everyone needs to go, but be respectful and don't mess it up and be nice to the sheep." ‌ In an earlier post, Sierra disclosed how she'd become completely smitten with Wales during her inaugural summer visit. She's now so besotted that she worries it's transformed into her "entire personality." Sierra gushed about the medieval castles, explaining these historical treasures simply don't exist back in America. She considers them absolutely "amazing" to wander through. In total, she managed to explore around eight castles, such was her fondness for them. Despite her enjoyable experience, she recommended that prospective visitors seek travel advice from locals for a more enriching Welsh adventure. ‌ Her exploration was evidently a joyous one, and she's clearly eager to return, even if it might not be possible in the near future. Since sharing her experiences, thousands have tuned into her clips, with many leaving their thoughts in the comments section. One viewer responded: "As a Welsh person, this is so lush to see someone talking about Wales, which people don't speak about enough. We have the most castles in any country on earth and also have some of the best beaches. "Also, Welsh people have been voted the friendliest in the UK. I'm so happy you visited and enjoyed." Another chimed in with: "As a Welsh person, I love this. I feel like Wales is so unknown/underrated both in and outside of the UK. Wales is awesome. Glad you enjoyed." A third commenter added: "As an Aussie who lived in Wales for seven years, I can't recommend Wales enough. The landscape is so amazing and beautiful." Meanwhile, another viewer shared: "I love hearing people be excited about the so many castles. Taken for granted when you live here. My local castle is Conwy."

The wild, magical forest that is one of the best day trips from London

Our capital city is an endless playground, constantly welcoming new restaurants, putting on pioneering shows and offering heaps of stuff to keep you busy each weekend – enough to give you an excuse to never leave. But at Time Out, we're big advocates for getting out of the London bubble once in a while. From arty hubs and historic cities to seaside spots and foodie meccas, there are plenty of destinations you can do from London in just a day. For the ultimate short respite from city chaos, we've got just the place. Swap crowded pavements for wide woodland paths, organic wine bars for quaint country pubs, pestering pigeons for wild ponies and head to the New Forest National Park. If you're catching the train, it takes 90 minutes to get from Waterloo to Brockenhurst and by car it takes roughly two hours. Once you get there, look out for famous ponies, which have grazed there for thousands of years, plus free-ranging Highland cattle and pigs snacking on fallen acorns. You can easily spend the entire day wandering aimlessly through fairytale-esque forest and heather-covered heaths, but there's plenty more things to do in the area besides. Explore the pretty village of Beaulieu, canoe down the river, treat yourself to a little massage at The Pig, pick up a treasure from the collector's fair at Brockenhurst Village Hall, fuel up on pub grub at the Royal Oak in Fritham or climb aboard the the Exbury Steam Railway. See all of the best things to do in the New Forest here, and if you want to stay in area for even longer, take a look at our selection of its best Airbnbs to book. Discover all of Time Out's favourite day trips from London here.
