Students are out of school for summer and it's a long weekend for people who are taking Monday off and Tuesday is Canada Day.
Collective Arts in Cambridge is launching Off The Canvas with a Sunday afternoon event. There will be live mural painting, music, immersive art installations and a makers market.
In Guelph, the Fourth Friday concert at the Guelph Civic Museum is Emilyn Stam and John David Williams, who blend clarinet, violin and accordion as part of their distinctive sound.
Knights Fest will be held at Goldie Mill Park on Saturday. The free event is family-friendly and will include combat demonstrations, live music, vendors, displays of weapons and armour, a magic show, children's storytime and food trucks.
The Kitchener Panthers are on the road this weekend in Chatham-Kent to take on the Barnstormers on Saturday night, then Brantford to face the Red Sox Sunday afternoon.
It's a full weekend of Guelph Royals action. The team is in Toronto Friday night, then hosts the Maple Leafs Saturday evening. On Sunday, the Royals are on the road again to face the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers.
Looking ahead to Canada Day, the Panthers are in Guelph to face the Royals with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

It's free to attend and there is lots to see and do, so plan your days so you don't miss anything.

Other Pride events this weekend including a Pride and Remembrance run, a crafternoon at the Kwartzlab Makerspace in Kitchener, a new free transgender swim in Waterloo, a drag bingo night and a virtual book club.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

For the first time, the Call of Duty championships are being held in Canada and they're at The Aud.
Call of Duty is a first-person shooting video game and the tournament this weekend will see thousands of people watch the action in person or watch the live streams.

Sapphira Cristál to host San Francisco Opera Pride Concert
Calling all opera queens: San Francisco Opera is hosting its first ever Pride Concert. The celebration features the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Eun Sun Kim and Robert Mollicone, with soloists mezzo-sopranos Jamie Barton and Nikola Printz and baritone Brian Mulligan. Activations and exhibitions will occur throughout the night, concluding with a dance party with DJ Juanita More.

PRIDE Abroad: Global Destinations Embracing LGBTQ+ Travelers

Over time, the protests and marches for resistance and acceptance evolved into massive lively festivals that represented progress while continuing to strive for equality. Today, across America, the month of June is filled with members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies celebrating equal love and acceptance. However, under the current political climate and social hostilities, the light around PRIDE celebrations in certain areas has been dimmed. Government regulations have impacted funding for affiliated organizations, affecting the scale and resources of celebrations and heightening safety concerns surrounding large gatherings. Since January 2025, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has tracked nearly 600 anti-LGBTQ state legislative bills across the United States targeting transgender youth, restricting access to affirming services and limiting public expression of LGBTQ+ identities. As stateside PRIDE events face growing uncertainty, many in the community are looking beyond domestic borders. Safety concerns, especially for transgender individuals and other marginalized identities have made some feel less comfortable participating in home based events. In response, international PRIDE celebrations have become more than just travel opportunities, they're affirming escapes. LGBTQ+ travelers account for over $218 billion in global travel spending, with 80% choosing destinations that are openly inclusive, supportive of queer rights and LGBTQ+-led businesses . According to an Expedia survey of 1,000 queer travelers, 54% plan to attend a PRIDE event this year. Seventy-six percent plan to travel outside of their hometown for the occasion, with 43% attending with friends and 10% going solo or bringing a parent. PRIDE is currently celebrated in at least 101 countries, with Google Trends reporting Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Spain and France as some of the top ten destinations where individuals searched for PRIDE celebrations. Pride unfurls this weekend, headlined by the official festival and parade plus a slate of fun offshoot events.
