Qatar Chamber holds CSR alignment training forum

Qatar Chamber, in collaboration with the Regional Network for Consultancy, organised a training forum titled 'Aligning Organizations in Qatar with the ISO 26000 Standard for Social Responsibility'.
‌ The event aimed at empowering institutions to align their operations with this international standard, which serves as a recognized framework for promoting transparency, accountability, and responsible organisational practices.
The forum was attended by a group of representatives from both public and private sector entities. The keynote speaker was Dr Ali Abdullah Al Ibrahim, Vice President of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility.
The forum covered four key themes: An introduction to the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard, A roadmap for aligning organizational practices with the ISO 26000 standard, The importance of aligning institutional operations with the ISO 26000 framework, and Certification of compliance with the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard.
Fatima Issa Al Kuwari, Head of the Training and Development Section at Qatar Chamber, stated that organising this training programme reflects the Chamber's commitment to supporting sustainability and social responsibility practices across all sectors in the country.
She emphasized the Chamber's role in empowering both public and private sectors, as well as civil society organizations, to adopt global standards that contribute to sustainable development and strengthen positive social impact.
In her opening remarks, Al Kuwari highlighted that Qatar Chamber is always keen to build institutional capacities by providing knowledge, practical tools, and encouraging experience-sharing. She noted that the forum exemplifies meaningful and constructive engagement among various sectors in order to elevate business practices to the highest international standards.
The training forum aimed to raise awareness among institutions and equip them with practical tools to align their activities with global social responsibility standards, particularly ISO 26000.

This came during a meeting between Qatar Chamber Board Member Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi held on the sidelines of the Pakistan International Property Exhibition, which took place on Friday and Saturday, July 25–26, 2025, at Holiday Inn Doha. Mohammed bin Johar Al Mohammed and Nasser Mansour Qureshi toured the exhibition, during which they explored its various sections and learned about the products and services offered by the participating Pakistani companies. Al Mohamed praised the strong fraternal relations between Qatar and Pakistan, especially in the economic and commercial fields. He pointed out that bilateral relations have witnessed significant development in recent years, particularly in trade and investment. The volume of trade exchange between Qatar and Pakistan reached about QR12.7 billion in 2024. This reflects the strength of economic ties and the great potential for expanding cooperation. He emphasised the vital role of the private sector in driving cooperation between the two countries, calling on businesspeople from both sides to capitalise on available opportunities and strengthen communication to establish strategic partnerships across various sectors. Al Mohamed also highlighted Qatar's attractive investment climate, modern infrastructure, and investment-friendly legislation, which make it an ideal destination for foreign investments. He invited Pakistani investors to explore the promising opportunities in the Qatari market. For his part, Qureshi praised the strong ties between the two countries across various sectors, particularly in economy and trade. He also commended the distinguished relationship between Qatar Chamber and ICCI and the mutual desire to strengthen and develop it in ways that reflect positively on bilateral trade relations.

The meeting discussed prospects for cooperation between the two sides to enhance commercial and economic ties between Qatar and China, particularly in the private sector, in addition to exploring the investment climate and opportunities available in both countries. Al Mansori praised the cooperative relations between Qatar and China in various fields, especially in trade and economy, noting that China is one of Qatar's largest trading partners. He also highlighted the strong ties between the Qatari and Chinese private sectors. He affirmed that Qatar Chamber supports the establishment of genuine and solid partnerships between Qatari and Chinese companies. He invited Chinese firms to invest in Qatar, particularly in the industrial sector, and to benefit from the attractive investment climate, the advantages offered to foreign investors, the abundance of investment opportunities, and the country's advanced infrastructure. For his part, Guo Hao stated that the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, is the leading member of the Chinese Business Council in Qatar and is keen to strengthen cooperation with Qatar Chamber to advance trade and economic relations between the two countries. He pointed out that ICBC Doha, in cooperation with the Chinese Business Council, is working to attract Chinese investments to Qatar and promote the country as a regional business hub in the region, highlighting Qatar's attractive and investor-friendly environment.

Tribune News Network Doha Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani met at the Chamber's headquarters with Saud Mamoun Al Barir, president of the Sudanese Chambers Union. The meeting discussed the relations between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the commercial and economic fields, and ways to enhance them. Both sides emphasised the role of the private sector in developing these ties, and the role of Qatar Chamber and the Sudanese Chambers Union in stimulating trade and investment between the two countries to boost the level of commercial exchange. The discussions also touched on the investment climate and available opportunities in both the State of Qatar and the Republic of Sudan, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between businesspeople from both countries to increase mutual investments and bilateral trade. Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani affirmed the deep-rooted and historical fraternal relations between Qatar and Sudan, noting that Qatari businessmen are keen to expand their investments in Sudan. He pointed out that there is potential to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which currently does not reflect the available capabilities nor meet our aspirations. He stressed that the private sector in both countries can play an effective role in significantly increasing trade exchange. For his part, Saud Mamoun Al Barir praised the close brotherly relations between the two nations and expressed his admiration for Qatar's economic progress and urban development. He affirmed the Sudanese Chambers Union's keenness to strengthen cooperation with Qatar Chamber and the Qatari private sector in a way that supports the development of commercial relations between the two brotherly countries.
