Chelsea's Jadon Sancho clause officially triggered after Man Utd outcast's loan move
CHELSEA'S obligation clause to buy Jadon Sancho after his loan transfer from Manchester United has officially been triggered.
The Red Devils flop has endured a mixed spell with the Blues since arriving on loan last summer.

The 25-year-old has scored three goals and added four assists in 27 Premier League matches this season.
However, his season has included a 16-league game goal-drought dating back to early December which he finally ended with a stunning goal against Ipswich earlier this month.
Despite experiencing some patchy form since the turn of the year, Chelsea have continued to narrowly maintain their spot in the top five.
And with the season run-in now well underway, Enzo Maresca 's side have now confirmed they cannot finish below 15th in the table after their comeback win over Fulham.
This achievement has triggered an obligation clause in Sancho's loan transfer deal which means Chelsea must pay Man Utd £25million to sign him.
However, Stamford Bridge chiefs still have the option of pulling out of the deal.
It is reported club chiefs will save their final decision on Sancho's future until the end of the season.
But if they choose to pull the plug, they will still need to pay a penalty fee of £5m to Man Utd.
Former Manchester City academy star Sancho originally signed for Man Utd from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021 for a fee of £73m.
However, poor form, mental health issues and injuries heavily hurt his first two seasons at the club.
He looked set to finally kick on during his third season at Old Trafford before he was called out for poor training performances by then manager Erik ten Hag.
Sancho then publicly called the Dutchman a liar and was frozen out of the team after refusing to apologise.
He was sent on loan back to Dortmund for the second half of the 2023/24 season, where he played a key part in helping the Bundesliga side make the Champions League final.
But his old side were unable to match the fee for his transfer and decided not to pursue a permanent deal, with Chelsea swooping in to take him on loan last summer.

John Terry 'proud' of full kit w***** label after Chelsea Champions League win
EXCLUSIVE: John Terry wore his full kit to watch Chelsea win the Champions League in 2012 - and holds no regrets despite his reputation following that success John Terry insists he is 'very proud' of his 'full kit' celebration - and revealed he was under orders from UEFA. Terry has always struggled to live down the whole episode after the 2012 Champions League final when he was suspended but still ran onto the pitch to lift the trophy while wearing his shirt, shorts, socks, boots and even his shin pads. Former England captain Terry suffered Champions League heartbreak when he missed in the penalty shoot-out in 2008 but was determined not to miss the party four years later despite him and Branislav Ivanovic being banner for the final. Terry laughed: 'What are you going on about?! It doesn't bother me at all. I will gladly take the stick if we win the trophies. 'Listen, first of all, it came from UEFA, they wanted all the players to dress the same, wear the shirt and I probably overeager it a bit because I had the boots, the shorts and the shinpads. 'They didn't say to everyone: 'put the boots and shin pads on!' So, yeah, I've gone a bit far but I'm very proud of it, I really am. 'It's part of it. The memes and stuff came out, but being the Englishman that I am, the Chelsea captain and so proud to lead the club, I was ready to take the brunt of it. 'But I wasn't the only one. Ivanovic was suspended and he was swinging on the crossbar at full time. No-one mentions that he had the full kit on, the scarf wrapped round and all of that.' Terry regards the 2005 title as the best trophy he played in but still looks back on the 2012 European success as a remarkable achievement despite missing the final after being sent off in the semi final. He added: 'In terms of one I didn't play in but still goes down as the best for me is the Champions League in 2012. And I say that because I'm proper Chelsea, everyone knows that. 'Seeing the heartache of 09/10, 08 against Man United and even 04/05 in the Champions League, we deserved to win that trophy. We'd been so close. 'We'd probably been better equipped previously to win it than the actual year we did it. It wasn't our strongest team, we were an ageing team in 2012. 'We had a few players suspended, myself included, but we went and won the trophy. We needed a bit of luck along the way which we had. I think it's an amazing trophy and one I'm so proud of that we won.' John Terry was speaking about Chelsea and the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. Bryan Mbeumo breaks silence as Tottenham trump Man Utd with huge transfer offer
Bryan Mbeumo is keen to leave Brentford this summer after a standout season for the Bees and is a wanted man, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur - where Thomas Frank is the new head coach - both very keen So where will it be for Bryan Mbeumo? The Brentford star finds himself as, arguably, the Premier League's most wanted man. A long-time Newcastle United target, the Brentford forward, fresh from a 20-goal season in the top flight, won't be heading to St James' Park. According to those close to Newcastle, it's because they baulked at the Bees' transfer demands, but more particularly the Cameroon international's salary demands. Those close to the player claim he wasn't interested in a move to the North East. Instead, the No.1 choice has been Manchester United, who have made him their top target after tying up a deal for Wolves star Matheus Cunha. Offers have been made, but United have fallen short of Brentford's demands, a first offer of £45million up front with £10m in add-ons rejected, before a second bid was also turned down. But now Mbeumo has seen Tottenham hijack United's move, with new Spurs boss Thomas Frank pushing for a reunion with a player he knows so well. As exclusively revealed by Mirror Football on Friday night, the North London club have made a big-money move to get Mbeumo. Spurs have launched a £70m bid, worth £65m plus £5m in add-ons. All told, it's £10m more than United's last offer, with more guaranteed. It's understood Mbeumo still prefers to join United. Certainly they have the edge when it comes to wages, as the salary on offer at Old Trafford is between £150,000-£175,000-a-week with bonuses taking Mbeumo's expected package to £200,000-a-week. Spurs would have to break their strict wage structure to match that, with Mbeumo expected to earn around £130,000-£140,000-a-week. Bonuses would still see it fall short of the cash he would pick up at United. But as Spurs were making their move on Friday afternoon - and before it hit the public domain - Mbeumo himself stoked the transfer rumour flame on social media, amid suggestions he's reconsidering his options. Until then, Mbeumo hadn't reacted to Frank's departure as Brentford boss, but the 25-year-old duly used his Instagram account to do just that, sharing Brentford's post confirming Frank's exit - almost 24 hours later - captioning it with two prayer emojis. Let's just say it's open to interpretation what they meant. Thank you? Please take me with you? Ultimately the proof will be in the pudding. Intriguingly, Frank was candid about his desire to continue working with Mbeumo while still Brentford boss, comments that speak volumes about his thoughts of the player. "I'm the head coach. I want my best players to stay forever" he said. "I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he's thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future? I don't know. "I've said many times, we are a selling club. But at the same time, we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world that aren't selling clubs. So, of course, if the right price - and that's going to be expensive - is coming, then I'm sure the club will be open for it. "But I'm very happy he's here, and I'm convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here." Now, Frank is preparing to be happy elsewhere. The question is whether Mbeumo will be happy with him. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. ‘Just ban this guy from the Etihad' – Man City fans FUME at Kyle Walker over his astonishing Tottenham claim

The Etihad club captain left Pep Guardiola stunned when he asked for a move away in January — when City were right in the middle of a crisis. And boss Pep left the 35-year-old right-back out of his Club World Cup squad, meaning he is free to find a new club. But City fans were angry when Walker revealed on his BBC podcast he would have loved to have been with former club Spurs as they ended their 17-year trophy drought. Walker has won six Premier League titles at City and was part of their Treble-winning side in 2022-23. READ MORE IN FOOTBALL 'harsh and unfair' Club kicked out of Europe by Uefa in Crystal Palace-style case He said: 'I'd probably give up one Premier League title, not the first, to have won that Europa League with Tottenham because I know what it means. "Probably my second — although that was the 'Four-midables' [when they won all four domestic trophies]. 'It's hard to give one away but for what that moment meant, to say I was in that Spurs squad that won a trophy.' City fans slammed Walker, with one saying: "Just ban this guy from the Etihad and get it over and done with. He's already freely hating us, why protect whatever is left of his relationship with the club." JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS Another added: "Mental. I could never ever imagine John Stones, Nathan Ake, Samir Nasri, Carlos Tevez ever coming out and saying they would give up even a Community Shield to win a trophy at a former club." Tottenham supporters were delighted to see that he still loves the club, as one commented: "Great to hear you say 'we' when referring to Spurs." Roy Keane slams 'LAZY' Kyle Walker for role in Senegal goal vs England as ITV star says 'can't make mistakes like that' A second said: "As a Spurs fan, it was really heartwarming to hear Kyle's words and his feelings connected to the Europa League final. I was gutted when he left for Man City, but I've always been happy seeing him win trophy after trophy." Walker — who spent eight years on Tottenham's books — admitted he was a bag of nerves watching his old club beat Manchester United 1-0 last month. He added: 'It was the first time in a long time I've been nervous — and I wasn't even playing. 'I was there with my iPad and I couldn't sit and watch it. I was walking up and down my room. 'We reached a lot of finals but against better teams who knew how to win. 'They've always been a club that nearly got over the line but not quite. I'm buzzing for them.' Walker joined City from Spurs in July 2017 and has a year left on his deal. Turkish giants Fenerbahce are the latest to show an interest in him.
