CRIMSON PRIDE: Alabama football seniors reflect on personal legacies in final episode of Fox Nation series
The Alabama Crimson Tide football team is regarded as one of the premiere college programs in the country — and for players who get to help shape the team's legacy, emotions can run as high as the game's score.
For graduating seniors on the team, just before the final game of the season is the perfect time to reflect on personal legacies made throughout their tenure in Tuscaloosa.
In the sixth and final episode of "The Tides That Bind," streaming exclusively on Fox Nation, several Alabama players opened up about their thoughts going into their final regular season game against the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl.
The Alabama-Auburn football rivalry spans over a century, and is considered to be one of the most intense rivalries in sports. "When I leave college, I can't come back," quarterback Jalen Milroe said during the episode, weighing the gravity of playing his final game with the Crimson Tide. "I can never come back and play another snap at Alabama."
The projected NFL draft pick also touched on what he personally hopes to leave behind as he exits the program.
"I just want to touch someone in this world. I don't care who it is," Milroe continued. "I just want to inspire somebody that they can say, 'Man, Jalen went through this — I can do it, too.'"
Former long snapper Kneeland Hibbett admitted the final game would be bittersweet during a team practice prior to the Iron Bowl.
"I'm just preparing like any other week," he said. "But when that 'Dixieland Delight' hits in the fourth quarter, there will be some emotions. It's been a fun journey with a lot of good guys."

Former Alabama defensive tackle Daron Payne to host football camp
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Former Alabama football defensive lineman Daron Payne is hosting a free football camp on June 16. Mark Ingram on College Football Hall of Fame ballot Payne, who plays for the Washington Commanders, was a selected with the 13th pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was part of two national championship teams during his time at Alabama, the 2015 team that defeated Clemson, 45-40, and the 2017 team that beat Georgia, 26-23. He's played for the Commanders his whole career and made the Pro Bowl in 2018. The camp is scheduled for June 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Shades Valley High School. One specific area Alabama's defense must address to be a contender in 2025, expert says The start of the 2025 college football season is 78 days away, and 85 days remain until the Alabama Crimson Tide open the season against the Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee. While SEC commissioner Greg Sankey and others are still trying to re-legislate Alabama's absence from last year's College Football Playoff, only 12 Saturdays remain until Alabama-FSU. Both teams are looking for bounce-back years in 2025. The Crimson Tide want to improve on a 9-3 regular season in Kalen DeBoer's first year, which included a blowout loss to Oklahoma in Week 13 that ultimately kept Alabama from reaching the first-ever 12-team playoff field. Florida State is in need of a hard reset. Mike Norvello's Seminoles followed up their 12-0 regular season and ACC championship from 2023 with a woeful 2-10 record last year that featured only one win vs. a Power Four school. One potential concern for Alabama heading into 2025? CBS Sports and 247Sports analyst Brad Crawford believes it's on defense -- more specifically, the need for Kane Wommack's unit to establish a pass rush. Per Crawford: "Make no mistake -- this should be a stout defense for the Crimson Tide, especially considering cornerbacks tandem Zabien Brown and Domani Jackson are being discussed as one of the best in the conference. But if there's one area of concern, it's the ability to produce havoc numbers on the interior and edge since Alabama's inexperienced beyond James Smith and nose tackle Tim Keenan III. The Crimson Tide need a difference-making campaign out of LT Overton, who has best-in-the-conference type of potential." Overton was recently named to the 2025 Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List, along with linebacker Deontae Lawson. Lawson's 76 tackles were second on the team last year behind linebacker Jihaad Campbell, who departed for the NFL after a terrific junior season. Alabama's pass rush generated 25 sacks for 172 sacks yards. That ranked only 69th in FBS and was 14th out of the 16 SEC schools. Year 2 of the DeBoer era in Tuscaloosa will coincide with Alabama's first ever visit to Doak Campbell Stadium on Aug. 30. The Crimson Tide and Seminoles will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC. The Vols will face No. 3 national seed Arkansas (46-13), Saturday-Monday, in the NCAA Tournament Fayetteville Super Regional. The Fayetteville Super Regional will mark the Vols' second series at Arkansas in 2025. Arkansas won a regular-season series finale against Tennessee, 2-1, May 15-17, at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas. 'I think every game we've played since we've been there has been basically cut-throat,' Vitello said. 'I know it's double elimination format once you get to the regional. Different type of format going to Hoover this year, and we've had some good appearances or runs in Hoover, but we've also had a couple times, whether it went good or bad, the first day wasn't great. Our guys were tremendous against Alabama right out of the chute, and then the Texas game. I haven't rewatched it, but I'm going to wait and we'll rewatch the whole regular broadcast, not just our scouting report one, because it was an ESPN classic. I don't see how that one didn't help both teams in some way, shape or form, or at least I can say that it helped ours. Didn't go the way we wanted in game three, and then, you know, we go to the regional, but all those scenarios, whether they were positive or negative on the scoreboard, were great for our team. 'So, little more experience, little more maturity, and then I think as the years gone on, blame the coaches or me for taking too long, but I think it's been a year where you're kind of sorting out what do you want the lineup to be, where you want certain pitchers to go, and I think we have a better understanding of that now than maybe we did back then, or definitely prior to that.'
