
Padel Stars, TRIBS clinch Padel Ranking Cup titles
Padel Star and TRIBS outplayed their respective rivals in thrilling contests to clinch the men and women titles in the exciting Pakistan Padel Ranking Cup 2025 that concluded at Sport on in Karachi.
Super Striker bagged the Boys U-14 title.
Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony and gave away the trophies, certificates and cash prizes to the winning teams.
President, Pakistan Padel Federation, Muhammad Mateen, CEO, Mudassar Razak, Vice President,
Syed Rehanuddin, Secretary General, Quratulain, Finance Secretary, Karima Bano, Secretary General, Pakistan Throwball Federation, Maqbool Ahmed, Sohail Vohra of Sport On and a large number of dignitaries and sports enthusiasts were also present on the occasion.
In the mens category, Padel Star comprising brilliant duo of Aamil and Murtazain, emerged victorious in a gripping final against Katch Brothers which were represented by M. Azhar & Nafees Yaqoob. Padel Star won by 2-0 (6-3, 7-6) to claim the championship title.
In the third place match, Tigers Team (Rayyan Younas & Abdullah) secured bronze via walkover (1-0) against Gar Gala Team (Farhan Mustafa & Abdul Rehman).
In the women's category, TRIBS team comprising the skillful pair of Natalia and Natasha dominated the final against MUV team which was represented by Mehak Tehrani & Saira Umer. TRIBS won 2-0 (6-1, 8-6).
The third place match saw Control X Power Team (Safina & Neha Khan) triumph over Sister Squad (Sher Beg & Saleena Beg) by 2-0 (7-5, 6-3) victory.
In the Boys Under-14 category, the talented Super Striker Team (Azhar & Mustafa) outplayed Allawala Team (Ansarullah & Azhar Allawala) in the final to win by 2-0 (7-5, 6-0).
The third place match was a thrilling encounter, with A2 Brothers (Arsh & Azan) edging past Shaheen Team (M. Bin Haris & Rayyan) by 2-1 (7-5, 5-7, 7-5).
The winning teams received a handsome prizemoney of Rs 100,000 along with the trophies while the runner-up teams received Rs 50,000 with trophies. Third position holders received Rs 25,000 along with the trophies.
The tournament was played under the auspices of Pakistan Padel Federation (PPF) and under the umbrella of the International Padel Federation (FIP), Padel Asia in collaboration with the Sindh Padel Association and Sport On Clifton, Karachi.

Bheda Tigers win KPL title in style

PHOTO: KPL A match winning all- round performance by first class cricketer Rizwan Mahmood guided Bheda Tigers (BT) to a 7-wicket victory over Defending Champion Tanger Star in the final of the Khatri Premier league season 3 Floodlight T-20 cricket at Historic Asghar Ali shah Stadium here on Sunday night. Batting first, Tanger Star reached 157-6 in their 20 overs against tight bowling, intelligently utilized by Bheda Tigers skipper Imran Churi, the loving personality of Muslim Khatri community. Upcoming talented batter of Muslim Khatri community Mohammed Asad was the top scorer with a 29 -ball unbeaten knock of 46 that included two boundaries and four sixes. Khurram Manzoor struggled to make 41 from 41 deliveries with one four and two sixes while Usman Khan hit an 18. Rizwan Mahmoud bagged 2-18, and Owais Jamali 2-35. Bheda Tiger's response to the chase was shaky when in form opener Mohammad Afzal departed on first ball of duck. But the arrival of the experienced Rizwan Mahmood eased the tension in the Bheda dugout as the right-hander simply toyed with the Tanger Star bowlers to slam four boundaries and three six in a dazzling innings of 50 off 33 . Afnan Khan made 28 off 14 balls with two fours and brace of Sixes. Rizwan was deserving recipient of the Rs 5,000 man-of-the-match prize at the presentation ceremony which was graced by Deputy convener MQM and MNA Dr Farooq Sattar who was the chief guest. Also present were MPA Jamal Ahmed and Kamran Ahmed, District sports officer Government of Sindh Hajra Nawab, Abdul Kareem Niazi, Tournament Chairman Irfan Zeri, Tournament secretary Sadiq Khatri. A delighted Bheda Tigers skipper Imran Churi received the winners' trophy along with Rs 200,000 awarded to the champions. The captain of Tanger Star Haroon Tara collected the runners-up trophy and Rs100,000. Muzzamil Sonija was the player-of-the-tournament from Khatri community and received a motorbike while Abdullah Fazal won the Man of the Tournament award which was also a motorbike.

Tanger Star cruises into KPL final

PHOTO: KPL Defending champions Tanger Star reached the final of the Khatri Premier League Season 3 Floodlight T-20 Cricket Tournament by defeating Buchra Warriors by 4 wickets in a thrilling match at the historic Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. Buchra Warriors, batting first, scored 214 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sohail Khan batted well and scored 66 runs off 34 balls with the help of one four and seven sixes, while Abdullah Fazal scored 66 runs off 35 balls with the help of two fours and seven sixes. Besides Saleem's 4-16 Muzamil Sonija took three wickets for 41 runs. In reply, Tanger Star reached the target for the loss of six wickets in 19.4 overs. The winners owed their win to brilliant half-centuries from Test cricketer Khurram Manzoor (54) and international Usman Khan (56). In the final, they will face Bheda Tigers at the historic Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team Sarfaraz Ahmed watched the match with great interest as the special guest and later distributed the honorary shield among the officials. At the end of the match, the Chief guest General Secretary of Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association Amiruddin Ansari presented the Bin Younis and New Al-Hamid Man of the Match trophies and a cash award of Rs 5,000 to Tanger Star spinner Muhammad Saleem for his brilliant bowling.

Naveena Steel Jnr Padel C'ship begins

PHOTO PPF Naveena steel National Junior Padel Championship commenced in Maidan Karachi on Thursday, with 86 participants from all over Pakistan featuring in it. In the under-18 and under-16 caregory matches, Sindh teams displayed high quality game, overpowering their rivals with ease. Pakistan Padel Federation in collaboration with Maidan and Sindh Padel Federation organised an Inauguration ceremony at KMC sports complex, attended by CEO of PPF Mudassar Arain, owner of Maidan Mr Usman and chief guest PPF's president Muhammad Mateen. Addressing the ceremony CEO Mudassar Arain said this event is being conducted under the guidance of Padel Asia and International Padel Federation & all the International rules will be followed accordingly. PPF president Mateen announced that this event will also be taken as a qualifying round for Junior World Cup which is scheduled in Spain. "Top performers of this championship will feature in Pakistan's squad for the world event," he said. All matches will be played on different courts of KMC Maidan while the final encounters are scheduled on Sunday. Results: Under 18 Boys 1.
