But for many of us, the thought of nosy neighbours peeking into our outside space can leave us filled with anxiety, and unable to properly relax.
Putting up a large fence around your garden may seem like the obvious choice to keep away prying eyes, but this can be expensive - and can sometimes lead to disagreements with neighbours.
However, Amazon's Natural Reed Outdoor Privacy Fence, offers the perfect solution.
The stylish fence comes in two colours, 'Natural' and 'Carbonised' meaning that there's a design to suit any garden.
The bamboo screen comes with 100 ties, making it easy to attach to an existing fence or balcony.
It promises to enhance "ambience and privacy", and at just £5.61, is the perfect buy for penny pinchers.

Shoppers have been raving about the bargain buy on the B&Q website.
How high can a garden fence be?
Despite what many people think a garden fence can be as high as 100m but you need to get planning permission for any fence taller than 2m.
Any fence under 2m does not need planning permission.
However, there are some complications to this.
If you are thinking about front garden fences, restrictions state that fences alongside a driveway can be a maximum of 1m or 3ft.
You would need to get planning permission for putting a trellis on a fence of 2m.
But, if any plant that you grow on that trellis exceeds 2m, you do not need to obtain a permit for the growing plant.

The product does not meet the requirements of both the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994. The wax kit, which comes in a light pink rectangular box from China, is said to be destroyed at the border as a corrective measure. It received a mixture of responses from Amazon users, with 65% of customer reviews giving a five star rating.
