MNF may soon leave NDA, predicts BJP MLA
1 2 Aizawl: BJP MLA K Hrahmo on Monday predicted that Mizo National Front (MNF), though a part of NDA , may soon leave the BJP-led alliance as the regional party is in NDA only in name. Hrahmo's prediction comes four days after ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) Lok Sabha member Richard Vanlalhmangaiha attended the meeting of the NDA floor leaders in Delhi. Sources in ZPM said Vanlalhmangaiha attended the NDA floor leaders' meeting on Aug 7 at the invitation of parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju which triggered speculations that ZPM is joining the NDA bloc. Hrahmo, while addressing party workers at 'Mipuite Run' (Atal Bhavan) in Aizawl, said though MNF party is in NDA, it has been reluctant to be close to the saffron party and distances itself from the alliance. He attributed the financial crisis during the MNF rule to the party's lukewarm relationship with the Centre, saying that the previous MNF administration failed to distribute Rs 3 lakh each to selected beneficiaries under its flagship programme — the Socio-Economic Development Programme — due to acute fiscal crunch. The BJP legislator also said the present govt is also facing the same problems as ZPM refused to join NDA when the BJP leadership at the Centre invited them. E-lottery to allot spaces in Morabadi vendor market today
1 2 Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) will conduct another round of lottery on Tuesday to allot 60 vending spaces at the newly built Morabadi Vendor Market on Tuesday. The draw will take place through an e-lottery system, as per the approved list recommended by the RMC's vendor committee, officials said. In the second phase of the allotment process, 235 applications were received, of which 60 vendors have been selected. Earlier, 161 vendors had been allotted shops in the first phase of lottery. The market, built at a cost of Rs 1.36 crore, aims to provide organised vending spaces and reduce roadside encroachment. Selected vendors are required to attend the lottery with their Aadhaar cards, survey receipts, and PM SVANidhi vendor ID cards. The final list of names has been published on the RMC website and notice board. "This market is an important step towards streamlining vending activities in Morabadi. The transparent lottery system ensures fairness, and we expect all selected vendors to cooperate and join on time with their required documents," said Sanjay Kumar, the additional municipal commissioner of the RMC. Officials said the market is expected to boost hygiene, improve traffic flow, and support the livelihoods of local vendors.
