‘He disappointed me with his bowling changes': Virender Sehwag on MI captain Hardik Pandya
Former India batter Virender Sehwag was left disappointed by Hardik Pandya's decision to continue with Deepak Chahar for 2 more overs after the bowler had faced discomfort bowling his first due to a hamstring issue which led to strapping his leg during the match against Punjab Kings. Sehwag said that if Pandya had brought himself or Jasprit Bumrah to bowl the two overs instead of Chahar, Punjab could have been kept under pressure.
'I said this in the commentary box also that when Deepak Chahar had a problem with his hamstring, he made him bowl 2 overs. He had bowled a maiden in his first over but then conceded 28 runs from the next two overs. It was here where the match shifted in favour of Punjab. If he had given the ball to Bumrah or himself (Hardik) or Ashwani Kumar at that time, they wouldn't have conceded the 17 runs that went in that over. It would put the pressure on Punjab. As a captain he (Hardik) disappointed me with his bowling changes,' Sehwag said on Star Sports after the MI vs PBKS match.
Mumbai let go of a golden chance to secure a place in Qualifier 1 when they lost to Punjab Kings by 7 wickets and they will now face off with either Royal Challengers Bengaluru or Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator, depending on RCB's result in the LSG match on Tuesday.
#VirenderSehwag was clearly disappointed with Hardik's bowling changes!

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for MI with 57 off 39 balls while there were two wickets apiece for Marco Jansen, Arshdeep Singh and Vijaykumar Vyshak, who was, however, smashed for 23 runs in his final over by Suryakumar and Naman Dhir.

"Never Truly Made Space...": Virat Kohli's Sister Shares Cryptic Post, Leaves Fans Guessing
After a historic Indian Premier League (IPL) triumph, as India's iconic batter Virat Kohli heads into a space of calm and family time, cricket lovers are shifting their focus to the team's upcoming 5-match Test assignment against England. However, Virat still remains a cricketer of extreme interest, with his victory with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and what happened during the franchise's victory celebrations at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium still being discussed on social media. Amid this, a post by Virat's sister Bhawna has turned heads on social media. Bhawna Dhingra Kohli shared a cryptic post on Instagram, which read: "Sometimes, people expect your presence in moments they never truly made space for you. It's not absence - they just never saw you as part of the journey. #GentleTruths #FakeFaces" Virat Kohli's Sister's Instagram story. — Tanuj (@ImTanujSingh) June 12, 2025 Another post read: "Be bold enough to stand for others but also wise enough to be enough for your own self. No need to seek validation or support from anyone. Be enough, be you." Virat Kohli, meanwhile, decided to retire from Test cricket, midway through the IPL 2025 campaign for RCB. The manner of his exit from the longest format of the game has triggered many questions. "When you go, that's when people realise how big a player he was. I feel sad that he is gone, the way he is gone. I think it could have been handled better, there should have been more communication," Shastri said in a video shared by SonyLiv on social media. Kohli's decision came just days before the Indian squad for the five-Test series against England was to be announced. Shastri, who coached India during their historic Test series wins in Australia under Kohli's leadership, said he would have reinstated him as captain after India's 1-3 loss to Australia earlier this year. "If I had anything to do with it, I would have made him captain, straightaway after Australia," Shastri said. Following Kohli's retirement and skipper Rohit Sharma 's exit from the format, selectors appointed Shubman Gill as captain for the England series, which begins on June 20.

MLC 2025: Finn Allen breazes past West Indies legend Chris Gayle's record with swashbuckling 151
Oakland [US], June 13 (ANI): New Zealand's destructive opener Finn Allen shattered 'Universal Boss' Chris Gayle's record for most sixes hit in a T20 match during his swashbuckling exploits with San Francisco Unicorns' 123-run triumph over Washington Freedom in the opening game of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025. Allen dazzled with his enchanting 151-run blitzkrieg from 51 deliveries, which was laced with a rollicking 19 towering maximums, bettering the joint-record held by Gayle (vs Dhaka Dynamites in 2017) and Sahil Chauhan (vs Cyprus in 2024), who tonked 18 sixes each. He took 49 deliveries to blaze past the 150-run mark in Oakland, the fastest in the format, surpassing the record previously held by Dewald Brevis, who got off to 150 in 52 deliveries against the Knights in 2022 in South Africa's domestic tournament. Out of his tally of 151, Allen garnered 134 runs from boundaries, including 114 coming off 19 sixes. Only Gayle, Hazratullah Zazai and Graham Napier have managed more runs through boundaries in a T20 innings. His 151 is the highest individual score in the history of MLC. Nicholas Pooran previously occupied the spot at the summit with his explosive 137* against Seattle Orcas in the 2023 final. Allen required just 34 deliveries to reach the three digits, which is the second-fastest in a T20 franchise league behind Gayle's 30-ball effort against Pune Warriors in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013. Overall, the Unicorns hammered 28 maximums, the second-highest by a team in a T20 match. They are behind Baroda, which tallied 37 sixes against Sikkim last December in India's domestic T20 tournament. The Unicorns struck at least one six in 16 of the 20 overs of their innings. Unicorns' total of 269/5 is the highest a team has managed to pile up on the board in the tournament's history. Unicorns also became the first team to cross the 200-run mark in the United States. The previous highest was 245/6 posted by the West Indies against India in 2016 in Lauderhill. (ANI)
