Mumbai Indians extend Mighty Indians IP with 3D Webisodes and More

Mumbai Indians today announced the launch of Season 2 of Mighty Indians with an all-new slate of 20+ 3D webisodes, expanding the animated superhero universe built around the franchise's iconic players. L-R: Will Jacks, Deepak Chahar, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Trent Boult in animated Might Indians Avatar The rich character assets and visual storytelling are translating to commercial partnerships across product categories such as toys, apparel, school supplies, publishing and collectibles. Early prototypes of merchandise have received an enthusiastic response, and formal brand collaborations are being explored. Building on the momentum and widespread fan engagement from Season 1, the IP returns with richer storytelling, high-quality 3D animation, and deeper character arcs – all brought to life by Green Gold Animation, India's leading animation studio and creators of Chhota Bheem. Created by Mumbai Indians in partnership with Burman Sports, the exclusive commercial and production rights holders, and Green Gold Animation, Mighty Indians transforms star cricketers Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Deepak Chahar, Will Jacks, and Trent Boult into a team of animated superheroes, each with a unique origin story, power, and purpose. With over 47.5 million views generated through 20+ episodes, promos, and short-form edits across formats, Mighty Indians has grown into one of the most-watched and talked-about crossover IPs in Indian sports entertainment. To create an impact on-ground, 12-foot superhero statues of the Mighty Indians players were installed at Mumbai Airport Terminal 2 for the duration for IPL 2025, reaching over 85,000 travellers daily. What began as an animated series has embedded itself into cricket culture. From YouTube screens to towering airport installations to merchandise, Mighty Indians is no longer just content – it's becoming part of how fans and families experience the spirit of cricket and storytelling in a new, more imaginative way. A Mumbai Indians Spokesperson commented, 'Mighty Indians is more than an animated series – it's an extension of our philosophy to engage fans beyond the boundaries of the cricket field. With Season 2, we are expanding this universe through immersive 3D storytelling and richer stories. It reflects the spirit of the Mumbai Indians and brings it alive in a way that resonates with young audiences and families alike.' 'This has been one of the most creatively fulfilling projects we've ever worked on,' said Rajiv Chilaka, Founder and CEO of Green Gold Animation. 'We've built some of India's most beloved characters, but Mighty Indians gave us the chance to blend cricketing icons with mythic storytelling and create something that has both local heart and global potential.' Shiv Burman, Founder of Burman Sports, added, 'We used to watch cricket in a linear way – match days on television, and that was it. But today's kids have countless options competing for their attention, and if we want cricket to stay relevant to them, we have to meet them where they are. Mighty Indians is our way of doing just that by combining the power of sports heroes with the universal appeal of animation. It's a format that not only entertains but builds long-term emotional connection with the next generation of fans. We're already working with licensing partners to create merchandise, and multiple discussions are underway with brands looking to connect with children and families by leveraging the might of Mumbai Indians through this IP.' Mighty Indians is no longer just a piece of content. It is a platform for cricket, for imagination, and for the next generation of Indian storytelling. Because in this universe, anyone can be mighty. Deepak Chahar's Birthday: Out Of Team India Since 2023, Yet Raking In Crores; Here's His Net Worth

A product of the 'Dhoni School of Grooming', Deepak Chahar built his early reputation through game-changing spells for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Once hailed as the next big thing in swing bowling, Deepak Chahar, who turned 33 on Thursday, stands at a curious juncture in his cricketing journey. Born on August 7, 1992, in Agra, Chahar burst onto the scene with his prodigious ability to move the ball both ways and was seen as a new-ball specialist India could bank on. A product of the 'Dhoni School of Grooming', Chahar built his early reputation through game-changing spells for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), often dismantling top orders within the powerplay. His early promise quickly translated into international opportunities, with Chahar donning the national jersey in 38 limited-overs matches (ODIs and T20Is) and picking up 47 wickets. But despite his talent, a recurring battle with injuries kept him on the sidelines far too often, preventing him from fully cementing his place in Team India. His last appearance for the national side came in December 2023. Although he's currently outside the BCCI's central contract list, Chahar's market value hasn't taken a hit. His brand continues to flourish, especially in the IPL ecosystem. In the 2025 mega auction, Mumbai Indians made a strong statement by picking him up for Rs 9.25 crore. After a solid season, the five-time champions are expected to retain the seamer for the same amount heading into the next season. Chahar's financial graph is equally impressive off the field. His estimated net worth stands at around Rs 66 crore, built through domestic cricket, IPL stints, and a steady stream of brand endorsements. Adding to the entrepreneurial side of the family is his wife, Jaya Bhardwaj, a businesswoman in her own right. She is the founder and CEO of Trade Fantasy Game and was honoured with the 2023 Inspiring Women Leader Award. In the IPL, Chahar's stats tell a story of consistency and control. Since his debut in 2016, he has played 95 matches, claiming 88 wickets at an economy rate of 8.13. He has also shown glimpses of batting ability lower down the order, with 117 runs to his name, often stepping in during pressure moments. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Out-Of-Favour India Star Bowls At Full Tilt In Nets Ahead Of Series-Deciding Oval Test. Watch

Veteran pacer Deepak Chahar was spotted training with the Indian cricket team on the eve of the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval. In a viral video, Chahar rolled his arm over in the nets in a non-India gear, helping the Indian batters prepare for the challenge in their final training session of the ongoing tour. The visitors trail 1-2 in the five-match series, with the fifth and final game starting later today at Surrey's home ground. This isn't the first time that Chahar has joined the Indian nets in the ongoing tour. He had also joined the team ahead of the Lord's Test, also held in London earlier this month. Meanwhile, Chahar is yet to represent the country in red ball cricket. VIDEO | India Vs England: Pacer Deepak Chahar joined the Indian team's practice session and bowled in the nets at The Oval Cricket Ground in London ahead of the fifth Test starting tomorrow. #indiavsengland #deepakchahar — Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) July 30, 2025 India are expected to make multiple changes to the side which forced a draw in the Manchester Test last week. The visitors, meanwhile, have still to confirm if Jasprit Bumrah will play at the Oval. Bumrah's back injury earlier this year prompted India to announce the fast bowler would only feature in three games during the current series. The world's top-ranked Test bowler made his third appearance at Old Trafford and has little time to recover after bowling a draining 33 overs, during which he took two wickets and conceded 100 runs for the first time in a Test innings. "We are going to take a decision tomorrow (Thursday)," India captain Shubman Gill said Wednesday. "The wicket looks pretty green. So, we will see how it turns out." England confirmed Wednesday they will be without captain Ben Stokes after the inspirational all-rounder was ruled out with a shoulder injury -- a huge blow to the hosts. In last week's drawn fourth match at Old Trafford, which preserved his side's 2-1 series lead, Stokes became just the fourth England cricketer to score a century and take five wickets in the same Test. The 34-year-old is also the leading wicket-taker on either side, with 17 wickets at 25.23, while sending down 140 overs -- the most the lively seamer has delivered in any series.

4 Players Mumbai Indians Might Release Before IPL 2026 Auction: Deepak Chahar, Robin Minz And...

photoDetails english 2937459 Updated:Jul 26, 2025, 09:03 PM IST 1. Deepak Chahar 1 / 7 Mumbai Indians picked Deepak Chahar for Rs 9.25 crore in the 2025 mega auction. However, Chahar failed to deliver up to the expectations during the IPL 2025 season. He picked 11 wickets in 14 matches at a high economy of 9.17. Given his high salary and low return, Mumbai Indians might consider releasing Deepak before the IPL 2026 auction to free up the budget. Deepak Chahar's IPL Record 2 / 7 Deepak Chahar, who has played a role in the title wins of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) over the years, has picked 88 wickets in 95 matches with an economy of 8.13 in his IPL career so far. 2. Mujeeb Ur Rahman 3 / 7 Mumbai Indians (MI) picked Mujeeb-ur-Rahman for Rs 2 crore as a replacement for Allah Ghazanfar, who was ruled out of the IPL 2025 season due to an injury. However, Mujeeb didn't fit in MI's playing XI and played only one match and conceded 28 off two overs. Given the mystery element factor, Mumbai Indians might consider retaining Ghazanfar and releasing Mujeeb before the IPL 2026 auction. Mujeeb Ur Rahman's IPL Record 4 / 7 Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, who has represented multiple teams, has played 20 IPL matches and has 20 wickets against his name with an economy rate of 8.34 so far. 3. Robin Minz 5 / 7 Robin Minz was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 65 lakh in the 2025 mega auction. However, he couldn't do much in limited opportunities, scoring just 6 runs in 2 matches of IPL 2025 season. Mumbai Indians might consider releasing Minz before the IPL 2026 auction to free up a slot for a more reliable wicket-keeper batter as he appeared unprepared for the IPL level. 4. Reece Topley 6 / 7 England pacer Reece Topley was picked by Mumbai Indians for Rs 75 lakh during the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, Topley played only one match in IPL 2025, against Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2, where he conceded 40 runs in three overs. Given the lack of utility and trust, Mumbai Indians might consider releasing Topley before the IPL 2026 auction and target a more consistent overseas pacer to bolster their bowling. Reece Topley's IPL Record 7 / 7 Reece Topley, who can bowl early in the powerplay and can also bowl lethal yorkers in the slog overs, has played 6 IPL matches and picked 5 wickets so far.

Why Is Deepak Chahar Not Playing For MI In IPL 2025 Eliminator Clash Vs GT?

Last Updated: Mumbai Indians suffered multiple big blows with the likes of Ryan Rickelton and Deepak Chahar not being named in their starting XI for the Eliminator clash against Gujarat Titans. Both Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians made a few changes in the first eliminator of the Indian Premier League playoff stages, with the match being held at the Mullanpur Stadium in Mohali on Friday. Gujarat Titans made two changes from their side. One being the obvious, Jos Buttler, who had to leave the squad due to England's ODI series against the West Indies. Another big change made by GT is dropping the left-arm pacer Arshad Khan from their playing 11. To replace these two stars, they have handed the debut to the Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter, Kusal Mendis, who was roped in as Buttler's replacement. In addition, Washington Sundar comes back into the GT side as well. One of the big misses for the five-time champions, the Mumbai Indians, is the absence of Deepak Chahar. The pacer was not named in the side's playing 11 and was replaced by the English pacer, Richard Gleeson, who, like Chahar, had represented the Chennai Super Kings before. In addition, they won't have the services of their star wicketkeeper batter from South Africa, Ryan Rickelton, who has left the squad to prepare for the World Test Championship as well. But in his place comes the experienced English wicketkeeper-batter, Jonny Bairstow, who has played in the IPL previously for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Punjab Kings. It's a high-stakes clash between two exciting teams. Both teams have their survival in the tournament at stake as the loser of this fixture will bring their campaign to an end whilst the winner will go on to face Punjab Kings in the second eliminator later on.
