New college football series coming to Mercedes-Benz Stadium
A new college football series is on its way to Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
AMB Sports and Entertainment announced the Invesco QQQ Atlanta Gridiron Classic on Wednesday morning.

They say the annual series will feature some of the strongest programs and the most iconic rivalries from across the country.

'Atlanta and Mercedes-Benz Stadium have long been recognized as a premier destination for college football, and the Invesco QQQ Atlanta Gridiron Classic is the latest opportunity for us to continue to build on our legacy of hosting world-class events,' said Vice President of Stadium Events and Premium Sales for AMB Sports and Entertainment, Doug Roberts.

The inaugural classic will be played later this year between Georgia and Georgia Tech. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 29.
The annual Georgia-Florida rivalry game in 2026 will also be part of the series. The game's date has not yet been announced.

Tickets for the inaugural game between Georgia and Georgia Tech are currently only being offered to Georgia Tech season ticket holders. Officials say tickets will soon be offered to Atlanta Falcons PSL holders and UGA football season ticket holders.

A former University of Dayton men's basketball star helped the Indiana Pacers stun Oklahoma City in Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals. ‘Tyler Perry's Straw' Review: The Accidental Bank Robber
In 'Tyler Perry's Straw,' Janiyah (Taraji P. Henson), a single mom in Atlanta, is having a very, very, very bad day. Her morning was already ragged when the writer-director piles onto her woes a demeaning landlord, a bullying boss, a distant school administrator, a line of disgruntled grocery customers and a road-raging, off-duty police officer. Did we mention that Janiyah winds up in the wrong office at the wrong time in the wrong state of mind? As detectives arrive to a bloody crime scene at the grocery store where she clerks, Janiyah is across the parking lot at her bank, trying to cash her paycheck. Only she doesn't have identification, and the teller is being a stickler. Soon, Janiyah is waving a gun, something is flashing red in her daughter's see-through backpack and she has made hostages of the bank employees and a handful of aging customers. Sherri Shepherd portrays Nicole, the branch manager who tries to diffuse the situation, having amped it by telling the police that Janiyah has a bomb. Teyana Taylor ('A Thousand and One') brings fierce focus to a deteriorating situation as Detective Kay Raymond. The security footage at the grocery store didn't lie, but Detective Raymond intuits something more has sent Janiyah to the desperate standoff. She steps in as a negotiator. Perry, an unapologetic purveyor of melodrama, mercilessly teases the tension. Will Janiyah hurt the hostages? Will the authorities make a sad situation worse? The ending is perhaps too twisting for its own good. But Henson — so deeply committed to her character's emotional cratering — still makes us care. StrawNot rated. Running time: 1 hour 45 minutes. Paul Maurice provides update on 3 injured Panthers ahead of Game 5
The Florida Panthers gathered at the Baptist Health IcePlex on Tuesday morning following their first loss of the conference final the night before. Before climbing aboard a flight back to Raleigh, a small group of Panthers players skated while others did off ice work, which is generally the case on travel days. Advertisement Among that small group of skaters were a trio of notable names. Injured players Sam Reinhart, A.J. Greer and Niko Mikkola were all on the ice Tuesday, a good sign toward either or all of them suiting up for Game 5, which is set for Wednesday night at Lenovo Center. 'They all skated today, we'll see how they are tomorrow,' said Panthers Head Coach Paul Maurice. 'It's what we expected, it's what we hoped for.' All three are expected to take part in Florida's morning skate in Raleigh, and from there, we'll see if Maurice is given the green light for any of them to play that night. Reinhart was injured after taking a hit from Carolina's Sebastian Aho during Game 2, while both Mikkola and Greer suffered injuries during Game 3 in Sunrise. Advertisement Jesper Boqvist has been filling in for Reinhart on Florida's top line and he'd be the one likely to come out if Reinhart is able to return. Greer would reclaim his spot on the left side of the fourth line, where Nico Sturm lined up on Monday, and Mikkola would team back up with Seth Jones, moving Dmitry Kulikov to his usual spot next to Nate Schmidt and bump Uvis Balinskis back off the lineup card. We'll see how they all look when they hit the ice on Wednesday. Maurice did provide some signs of optimism, for what it's worth. 'We'll put them on the ice again tomorrow,' Maurice said.
