Kirby Smart, Georgia Add Another Recruiting Win as Surge Continues
Kirby Smart, Georgia Add Another Recruiting Win as Surge Continues originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs continue to bolster the class of 2026 during an important recruiting period. Advertisement The Bulldogs had yet to surpass 10 commitments in the 2026 cycle at this time last month. After a number of high-profile official visits, though, things have certainly picked up. Marking the fourth commitment over the last two weeks, Georgia received a pledge from in-state offensive lineman Zachary Lewis on Monday. Lewis (6-foot-4, 270 pounds) plays for North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia, where he ranks as the No. 32 interior offensive lineman and the No. 53 player in the state (247Sports). Jones / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Georgia hosted Lewis on an official visit over the weekend after he previously took an official trip to in-state rival Georgia Tech on May 30. South Carolina and North Carolina were also in contention for Lewis before he announced his decision. Advertisement 'I've grown up a Dawgs fan and now I get to be a Dawg!" Lewis said via On3's Hayes Fawcett. The Bulldogs began the month of June by landing highly touted cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick, the brother of former Alabama Crimson Tide standout and current Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Justice Fitzpatrick, out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, ranks as a top-100 recruit and the No. 8 player at his position. Additionally, Georgia landed four-star defensive lineman Carter Luckie on May 31 after receiving a pledge from four-star wide receiver Ryan Mosley three days earlier. Georgia hasn't finished outside the top five in nine consecutive years under Smart. Eagles star A.J. Brown offers an open invitation to QBs in Philadelphia and New Jersey
Eagles star A.J. Brown offers an open invitation to QBs in Philadelphia and New Jersey Eagles All-Pro quarterback took to social media to offer an open invitation to local quarterbacks from Jersey and Philly for throwing sessions Call this premature. Call it a theory expressed in error, but don't be surprised if others agree. A.J. Brown is already a Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Famer, but his next few seasons in the City of Brotherly Love could determine whether or not we're discussing more. Canton isn't out of the question. He may not be a shoo-in yet, but we might be when his playing days are over. His resume already consisted of his addition to the Pro Football Writers Association's All-Rookie Team in 2019. He landed on a Pro Bowl roster with the Tennessee Titans in 2020, but once he arrived in Philly, things reached supernova. Brown has gone from being seen as a very good player to being one of the best in the game at his position. He and DeVonta Smith make up the game's best one-two punch at wide receiver, and yes, the guys in Cincinnati and Miami were considered when making that declaration. Since his trade to Philadelphia in 2022, Brown has landed on two more Pro Bowl rosters (2022, 2023). He was snubbed last season, but that's okay. He can bask in the glow of a Second-Team All-Pro nod, his third. He's won that honor during each of the past three seasons. Brown is a Super Bowl champion, and when his time is up, who knows what he may have accomplished? The best part is that he has never lost his humility. That was most recently evidenced by a recent invitation he offered on social media. A.J. Brown is looking for a quarterback in the Philly and New Jersey area to work out with him this summer. Don't restart your cellular devices or your tablets. There's no need to check the resolution or the speed of your laptop. Your internet isn't lagging. This isn't a drill. A.J. Brown is looking for a quarterback from Philadelphia or New Jersey to work out with him during the summer. He offered an open invitation through his Instagram account. Fingers are crossed that the local news outlets and radio stations don't twist this and try to present it as some issue he has with his teammates. Let's hope the more appropriate angle is focused on instead. This is a recent Super Bowl winner who has already expressed that his desire to compete outweighs his achievements. That's why this city and fan base love A.J. and why it may not be inappropriate to believe that his bust may be carved one day and placed in the hallowed ground better known as the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Ohio.

Browns release a statement as Nick Chubb departs for Houston
Browns release a statement as Nick Chubb departs for Houston The Cleveland Browns saw their long-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb depart for the Houston Texans after seven seasons with the team. This one hurts. It may have been a diplomatic decision, but that does not take the emotion of losing a legend from the fanbase. And the Browns realize that, as they have released a statement as Chubb moves on to another team for the first time in his career. Here is what ownership had to say on Chubb and his impact on the team, the community, and more: "We want to take this opportunity to thank Nick Chubb for all he's done for the Cleveland Browns. For the last seven years, Nick gave everything he had to our fans, this organization and this city. He always represented our team as the consummate professional and in a manner that showed his passion and love for the game of football. Nick has always been about hard work and letting his play on the field do the talking for him. We are so grateful for the many moments he created on the field that we will never forget. One moment that stands out most is him stepping out of bounds at the 3-yard line instead of scoring after a 59-yard run to ensure a victory in a game against the Texans in 2020. Nick always puts winning above any personal accolade, and that is what makes him so special. Thank you for being a Brown, Nick, and we look forward to the day we celebrate your career as a member of our Ring of Honor." So, until we see Chubb again, we will root for him from afar. Hopefully, one day, Chubb chooses to retire as a member of the Browns. When that day comes, there is no doubt the Browns will hang his name in the rafters.
