Brentford sign Caoimhin Kelleher as Mark Flekken leaves for Bayer Leverkusen
It is understood the Bees will pay an initial £12.5million for Kelleher, who had only one year left on his contract at Anfield, with the rest due in performance-related instalments.
Kelleher made 20 appearances last season – largely in two spells when Alisson Becker was injured – and wanted more first-team football.

The arrival at Anfield of Valencia's Georgia international Giorgi Mamardashvili, a £29m move agreed last summer, reduced the Irishman's chances further.
Cork-born Kelleher, who has signed a five-year contract, will now look to establish himself as a genuine Premier League number one with Brentford.
'I don't think it was very difficult for me to leave (Liverpool),' Kelleher said on the Brentford website.
Caoimhin Kelleher has today completed a permanent transfer to Brentford.

'It was interesting to see their point of view on why they wanted to sign me and how they think they can develop my game. It was impressive and I think the club's a really good fit for me.'

Netherlands goalkeeper Flekken made 77 appearances for the Bees following his arrival from Freiburg in May 2023 and missed just one Premier League match last season.
Flekken's move to the Bundesliga will see the 31-year-old link up with fellow Dutchman Erik ten Hag, the former Manchester United manager having taken over following the departure of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid.
Brentford's director of football Phil Giles said on the club's website: 'Mark has proven to be a seamless replacement for David Raya, who set an extremely high standard during his years with us.
'We were expecting Mark to be our goalkeeper for many more years.
'However, when Bayer Leverkusen made it known that they wanted to do this transfer, and Mark made it clear that he was interested in moving closer to home and with a possibility of Champions League football, we turned our attention towards how all parties could make this happen.
'Mark has done a great job for us and leaves with our thanks and support.'

Max Verstappen is one penalty point away from being handed a one-race suspension by the FIA and Red Bull have decided to apply for a superlicense for their young star Red Bull could hand a British teenager the chance of a lifetime in Formula 1 if Max Verstappen is banned for a race. Verstappen is walking a disciplinary tightrope after colliding with George Russell in Barcelona last Sunday and knows he will be suspended by the FIA if he makes another mistake. The Dutchman has accrued 11 penalty points on his licence after picking up three points for ramming into Russell in a controversial incident at the Spanish Grand Prix. He knows that if he picks up another penalty point in the next two races then he would be slapped with an automatic one-race ban. Red Bull are confident that their star driver can steer clear of more trouble at the Canadian and Austrian Grands Prix, but have a contingency plan ready anyway. As Mirror F1 have reported, that does not include former drivers such as Daniel Ricciardo or Sergio Perez. In the event that Verstappen has to sit out a race, it would likely be Liam Lawson, or Isack Hadjar who would step up from sister team Racing Bulls to fill his seat. However, there is another exciting possibility being considered inside Red Bull HQ. The team have applied to the FIA for an exception regarding a superlicense for teenage sensation Arvid Lindblad. The 17-year-old, who was born in London, has caught the eye while competing in F2, but would need special dispensation from the FIA to receive his superlicence before turning 18 in order to compete in F1. It is understood that Red Bull have contacted the FIA simply to broaden their options in the event that Verstappen falls foul of the rules in the upcoming races. But it is still an exciting prospect for Lindblad, who is highly regarded by his team. He isn't the first hotshot driver who has been tipped for greatness: last year Kimi Antonelli, who was also 17 at the time, was being tipped to compete in a practice session for Mercedes. Young drivers have to have 'demonstrated outstanding ability and maturity' behind the wheel in another FIA-approved championship, with Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff explaining the process back then. 'The president of the FIA always had the ability and discretion of letting a driver drive, if you believe that the performance was good enough,' he said. 'I think the change of regulations isn't [about] Antonelli, it is generally to make sure that drivers with the right pedigree, CVs, success and maturity are able to race in F1, rather than a birth date. I think that was the right decision.' Lindblad might be the most exciting option to replace Verstappen for one race, but it is Hadjar who was recently showered with praise by Red Bull team principal Christian Horner. "I think he's been the most outstanding of the rookies,' he said. "The expectation on him wasn't as high as he's delivered so far. He's exceeded all our expectations, he's been fast, he's been consistent. He's constantly delivered, and I think it's been a great start to his Formula 1 career. He just needs to keep that momentum running. His future, if he keeps performing as he is, is very bright."

How Tottenham could line-up under managerial favourite Thomas Frank
Tottenham are yet again on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Ange Postecoglou and there is a clear favourite for the job: Thomas Frank. Winning the Europa League and ending Spurs' 17-year wait for a trophy was not enough to save Postecoglou, with Daniel Levy unable to overlook the club's horrific Premier League season. After finishing 17th in the table, losing a record 22 games and with the return of Champions League football on the cards, whoever takes over in the dugout will have an almighty task on their hands. Brentford boss Frank has emerged as the leading contender following his impressive work in west London and reports say the Bees are expecting an approach from Tottenham very soon. But is the Dane the right fit for Spurs and how could the Lilywhites line-up under him? Following a practically non-existent playing career, Thomas Frank worked as a youth coach in Denmark for 18 years, in which time he managed various youth levels of the national team. His first venture into senior management came at Danish Superliga side Brondby before moving to Brentford in December 2016, initially as an assistant manager to Dean Smith before getting the top job two years later. In 2021, Frank guided the Bees to victory in the Championship play-off final, returning to the club to the top-flight for the first time in 74 years, where they have remained ever since. Under the 51-year-old, Brentford have finished no higher than ninth and no lower than 16th, impressive given their relatively tight budget, with a net spend of £161.2million over the past four years. Frank has made a name for himself by getting the best out of unlikely and less well-known players, turning the likes of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa into some of the Premier League's best forwards. The Dane's attacking philosophy centres around high-pressing, direct and vertical play, creating numerical overloads which overwhelm opposition defences and proficiency from set-pieces. In theory, Tottenham should be able to adapt to easily. Last season, Brentford were the fifth-highest goalscorers in the Premier League with 66 – two more than Spurs. It should be noted however that they conceded 57 – just eight better than Tottenham's leaky defence. Frank is not set on one formation, often changing between a 4-3-3 and 3-5-2 depending on players' form and opposition. If using the former, Tottenham under Frank would line-up pretty much the same way as they did under Postecoglou, but a back-three system might give fans PTSD from Antonio Conte's toxic time in north London. It is far from a certainty that Frank will get the Tottenham job, with fellow London-based Premier League managers Marco Silva and Oliver Glasner also frontrunners. More Trending Silva's high tempo style of play is well-liked and has helped re-establish Fulham as solid top-flight team but does the Portuguese fancy his chances of managing in the Champions League again? Glasner may use a back-three formation like Conte but his tactics are completely different and by winning the FA Cup with Crystal Palace and the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt, it's clear the Austrian can achieve with an underdog club. Andoni Iraola is also a contender after his Bournemouth side finished ahead of Brentford, Fulham and Palace last season, while former Spurs players turned managers Kieran McKenna and Michael Carrick could be options, though their Premier League credentials are lacking. And last but certainly not least is arguably the club's best manager of the Premier League era: Mauricio Pochettino.
