NHRC concludes summer training camps running in government schools

The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) concluded its annual campaign, during which it delivered training courses for Qatari and resident students in summer camps of government schools aged 6 to 18.
Director of the Programs and Education Department at the NHRC, Hamad Salem Al Hajri said: 'Human rights education contributes to preparing students who are active in society and capable of defending their own rights and the rights of others.' He pointed out that the main objectives of the training course are to enhance understanding of rights and duties, develop the values of active citizenship, encourage positive participation in society, and consolidate human values and the principles of respect, tolerance, equality, and justice.
Al Hajri explained that human rights training from an early age contributes to the development of critical thinking, analysis, and expression skills, and promotes the values of equality and understanding among students from different cultural backgrounds, especially in light of the participation of both citizens and residents in the summer camps.
The NHRC concluded its training campaign with a lecture for students at Khalifa Secondary School for Boys on a safe digital environment. The lecture addressed the right to access a safe digital environment, its role in developing children's personalities and capabilities, and facilitating exposure to diverse cultures and identities, thus promoting the values of respect, tolerance, and acceptance of others.
